A dumb question probably but what do you post when you don't have anything new to post?
I mean, every insta strategy recommends to post frequently, but I can't produce a full costume and photoshoot per week, and posting old shit just seems kinda desperate?

And another question, any tips to edit selftaken costests? Most of the successful cosplayers I follow just edit their selfies to have a content to post while they're waiting for professional photos of completed costumes, but using only Meitu doesn't look as good?

Take it in different settings + with different people. Alternatively post detail shots in different posts as opposed to a multiple pic/collage post. Another tip for content is to post "uwa~ just got *insert thing* in the mail!" posts. I'd stick to just dresses or unique accessories though

I use Sanrio stickers, the default flower and shine stickers, Happy Fancy Surprise, and Milky Sugar Party for any pastel outfit.
For lolita, I use the Imai Kira, Pluie Douce, and London Sirosaki Cottingley packs.

I prefer more generic stickers (flowers, sparkles, etc.), but you could really use whatever cute pastel packs you like.

This is really the best advice for keeping up the frequency of your posts. Don't photo dump. Post one at a time for nearly every posts. You can either post a different cosplay or outfit every post or do rows. I've seen big accounts do it either way. I'm not super invested in being popular on Instagram so I only post frequently when I feel like it. I honestly have a huge backlog of selfies and photoshoot pictures at my disposal.

I like posting coordinate collages, some selfies, haircuts, art people have drawn of me, works in progress, mail hauls among other things.

I've been posting more frequently (like, everyday except weekends basically lmao) and using lots of tags (although after i stop using con tags i dont know if i can keep up...) and i've been getting a lot more likes and follows! the only thing is that I never get any comments?

Maybe it's because I tend to ramble a lot in the description, so if I ask a question it gets lost... I don't know. I usually have a lot to say about what I'm wearing/working on or where I was. How do you get more engagement?

Especially important since I eventually want to use my instagram to get potential customers for a sewing business or start a patreon so feedback is really important.

So I noticed something a little weird... up until now my new posts would get likes relatively quickly for the first hour or so, but lately I haven't had that initial boost at all. The starting likes trickle in wayyy more slowly, about the same as they did when I was much newer. I actually do have a bit of an overbite, I had an unfortunate meeting with an asphalt basketball court as a child which bucked them out REALLY FAR. Believe it or not my front teeth used to stick out at almost a 45 degree angle. For me, an account's overall aesthetic is important, and cohesiveness plays a part in that. So yes, I am more likely to follow someone with a cohesive feed. I prioritize individually interesting posts though, so I'm not looking for people with a million extra pictures of the sky with a purple filter or cute looking cakes or whatever, even if they add to the aesthetic.
