This would probably be better suited for a bad handmade thread, but there isn't one. Gulls, let me show you my most terrible and unholy creation. I was 15, I had just discovered cosplay, and I loved My Little Pony. This usually resulted in me wearing thrift-store dresses with sprayed hair and maybe one or two accessories. But then I decided that I wanted to cosplay a female version of Soarin, and I decided that I would do this with only the materials that were currently in my house.

I began by taking this dress and painting the entire front with yellow acrylic paint.

Then I made cardboard wings and glued them to the back. Not with hot glue, with Elmer's glue.

Thank God I never wore this in public. It's been untouched in my basement for 5 years. I wanted to confess my sins before I threw it out.

In theory yes, of course, but speaking as someone that suffered from a hormonal balance and hypothyroidism, the only way I could lose any weight before getting medication was dipping way below 1200 calories a day plus working out every other day, and thats not healthy.

Even when I did just 1200 calories a day plus working out the best I could do was maintain the weight I already was, I wasnt gaining, but I wasnt losing. It was so super stressful I wanted to die.

So I went to get blood work done and talk to a doctor about it and a week after taking medication for my newly found problems I started melting the weight off doing exactly what I had already been doing!

Sometimes your body makes it near impossible and needs a little extra help. Hypothyroidism is not an excuse to give up on your body though.

Look I was constantly meeting with nutritionists and making sure I was doing the right stuff. I would swim for an hour every other day, do some light lifting, and eat 1200 calories a day.

Like I said, when I was doing that I didnt GAIN weight, but I also would lose either very very little weight very slowly or I would just manage to stay the same weight.

But since my meds ive kept up the same exact plans. intermittent fasting, low calories, swimming for an hour, and ive lost 43 pounds in 5 months, so im pretty sure im doing just fine

Thank you though! I just wanted to point out that sometimes just "not eating" isnt really the issue. The point is to lose weight the healthy way! Sometimes that takes a trip to the doctor to see if something is wrong with you, 9 times out of 10 the person is just lazy and over eating or snacking too much, but for some people there are other hurdles to overcome so your body can start working correctly again, but once they do then they can get back to work!

I've been coming on this site for longer than I care to admit, and have tried to start cosplay nitpick threads so many times but they never take off. Instead people post cosplays in these threads that really have trivial things wrong (being fat, off color choice, not super obvious as to what cosplaying, one questionable makeup choice in an otherwise nice look)

I dunno where I'm going with this, it's just been on my mind lately

I was thinking this too, but this is such a slow board in the first place? Like the resin thread started in March. And like having a con crit that actually discusses what the anon finds wrong with the posted cosplays would help so much. And perhaps even discussion on how it could be fixed or done correctly.
