Gyaru should be kinda sexy yet elegant/cute/princessy. None of that "xD i'm picking my nose and piling on orange tan" bullshit. Also in Paris? Dear god. This city is so trashy despite its "city of wuv" reputation. Be careful out there.

What glue do you gals use for your presson nails? everything I use seems to fall off if I even slightly bump my nails, or is it just gonna be like that?

>> No.9874598

I use super glue. It comes off if you soak your hands in the bath and apply a little pressure, it was made for closing wounds so using it on your hands isn't too far fetched. Nail glue is weaker and has a tendency to destroy your nails more.

I don't feel like I can say because it will be too obvious lol but it's not America (any of them countries) and it's not Israel.

None of my friends even 'know' I'm gyaru. One put two and two together a few years ago when I did a fashion presentation on it but other than that, I just look flashy. They compliment my clothes and make-up choices all the time and ask how I do my make-up (I like tsuyome style). Most 'normies' like similar make-up and things anyway I feel like. All my girl friends wear two sets of eyelashes, fake nails, sexy clothes and etc. Being gyaru is like an upgraded version of how a lot of people in my circles dress.

And to be honest, there's not enough meets for me to feel the need for a group of gyaru. Not to be harsh but I feel like I have a different mindset to most of the people in the comm anyway so while I do like the ones not causing trouble personally, I'd rather splash my money on weed and alcohol with my non-gyaru friends than save up to spend the day with the comm most days.

I actually left the online comm once before because of what I saw online but I convinced myself to go back because it wasn't everyone who was acting a fool and I could've been jumping to conclusions but I'm not the only one noticing these things. That's the only reason I use 4Chan and go through the groups is to make sure I'm not going to meet up with crazy people lol

>Well, as long as you’re happy being a loner, I’m glad you’re still in the style

Seconded, that's the most important thing. Even though I'm the anon who initially mentioned how people were acting mad online, I know at the end of the day that I love gyaru because it's gyaru and it's not some perverse reason like thinking everyone online will want to surround me or thinking that will somehow make me more attractive or interesting to Japanese people. I just like the style and even though I love real life communities (I'm not really an online person lol) and sharing things with people, I don't have to be involved in something toxic like I have no choice.

The thing is, everyone in the comm is just a normal person, not celebrities or icons. We should be in the comm just to have fun and be the best gyaru we can be. But it seems like too many people are motivated by attention from somewhere else and its destroyed us. I see so many gyaru dressing up this way just to get attention from Tumblr, Instagram, cosplayers, wherever. They'll post selfies like "Look! I'm kogyaru today lol What should I do next guys?" But not actually explore the style for themselves.

If we treated the community as just bunch of people sharing the same interest and not a platform to gain notoriety, I think we'd be much better off. Instead, it's just about feeding egos and that's what creates this weird toxic atmosphere - especially in these times where the gaijin gyaru is declining so there's more focus on the few remaining people.

These people need to just look and think about why it is they're gyaru and not some other style or just 'normal'. Why they need to breed all this hate and where their problems stem from. Damn, I sound like a therapist or some shit lol I'll shut up now but I hate seeing this mess when there could be something great.

Your impression of the gaijin gyaru community sounds so outdated to me. I haven't seen those fame seekers since larme got popular, and IF there is someone with that mindset they are gone withon a week because they couldn't handle our critique.

Or maybe I am just spoiled because I am surrounded by girls (and guys) who genuinely love being gyaru, because it's who they are through and through.

>Your impression of the gaijin gyaru community sounds so outdated to me. I haven't seen those fame seekers since larme got popular, and IF there is someone with that mindset they are gone withon a week because they couldn't handle our critique.

I thought so too. When everyone left I thought we'd weeded out some of the drama queens but then I looked at some of the more popular girls who run everything and their attitudes to different things online make me think they just want some attention from outsiders, in the case of one person from cosplayers.

This particular person seems to have a lot of people they've got problems with in the cosplayer community, yet still cosplay nearly every week from their social media and always beef with somebody yet they suggest bringing our meets over to the cons as if to make a point.

Because they have a lot of influence, I know they eventually might have a meet at a con that I won't go to because that would be a toxic environment if there are people at cons as bad as they say.

A while ago on anon I suggested somewhere else and somebody else agreed with me. Then that person commented back disagreeing and it seemed respectful and just like a discussion. Then off anon they went and talked about how some 'dipshit' or something disagreed with them and I thought that was strangely flippant since even on anon, it seemed like a normal disagreement not an argument. It made me wonder how they'd react if we had the same discussion face to face.

-I want this to attract the attention of people, I want to be my happiest self and no one is going to stop me. We

are in our own world. We put makeup on for ourselves, so that our friends from Germany and Holland will see our pictures

and say "Wow, Georgie did such amazing makeup". People are not able to grasp the concept that we do this because we love

it.They think that it's for something, not that it's for fun.

:30 [text reads "Akipoyo Gyarusa"]
-I'm Georgie, I'm 28 years old, I'm a stylist.

-This is Inna, and she's 26, and she's a ????[sorry I couldn't hear it]

-This is Mayu, she's 22 and a makeup artist."

-This is Noy, she's 24 and she designs jewelry."

-Together, we're a group of Gyarus called Akipoyo. Gyaru is a style from Japan, and a lifestyle. It's not just the makeup

or the clothes, it has a whole aesthetic."

1:00

-We're going to put on makeup at McDonald's! Low budget. The most Low Budget. OK.

-[man in background] How come I'm not filmed this way?

-Is~ it~ possible~ for~ everyone~ to~ die~? [lol]

-The reason we do our make up together is because it's less fun, or even less comfortable, to go by yourself with this

makeup. It's like to miss our goal.

-[man] and the goal is to be in a group?

-Yes, it's fun to exclude.

1:30

-Yes, the goal is to exclude.

-Inside of Gyaru, there are a bunch of sub-styles.

-Today, we are specifically wearing a style called Manba. Generally, this makeup was made to enlarge the eyes, but then it

kind of escalated.

-Am I brown enough?

-[man] Wait, what are you listening to? I hear music also.

-This is super eurobeat.

>> No.9963784

>>9963782

2:00

-The most fun thing is to be manba. It's kind of like we're going to the beach, but we're not actually going. Sitting for

an hour doing your make up in order to become ugly. To break the mask of the woman who is small and gentle in Japan, and

from something beautiful and a mini-fantasy of men, it became something more exaggerated to provoke [?].

2:15

-I've been gyaru for 10 years, but this, manba, which is the style that I'm with today, I've been doing to for a year.

-Stick to my face!

-[man] Do you enjoy shocking people?

-Yes, shock therapy. That's what usually works.

2:30

-I want to be scary. Yes.

-I walk and the streets, and the people are like... scenery to me. I'm not invasive to their environment, they don't have

to invade my environment. Do you undertand?

-Mascara, let's say? Did someone take my mascara?

3:00

-Gyaru have to do para-para. If you don't do it, you're not gyaru. Para para is the dance of the eurobeat. It's like line

dancing [a dance popular in Israel]. Everyone dances alone, but everyone dances in the same way. Very Japanese.

-Yes, very.

-My wish, personally, is there to be more Gyaru in Israel. Because to me, it's wonderful. It gives a lot of confidence, a

lot of bravery.

-[man] A lot of people recoil from you guys.

-So should we get Vodka? And Orange Juice?

-Is Finlandia OK?

-Kanpai!

-It sounds to me a bit more 'by mistake'

-Do you realise what a lack of awareness this looks like?

3:30

-Us, in a way it looks like a joke.

-Most of the 28 year olds that I would tell them "Yeah, I went with my friends to drink on the floor on Rothschild [popular

busy street in Tel-Aviv] with make-up and Eurobeat", they would think I'm crazy!

-That's what's fun for us. That's what's fun for us.

-[old dude on the street] What is this?

-What, they weren't beautiful in your opnion?

-[man] Has there ever been violence?

>> No.9963793

>>9963784

-Of course there has been. There' a video of it somewhere.

-Someone really troubled her.

- I hit him with my shoe, and after that he hit me back and a bunch of other people joined.

-[man] there's no more vodka.

-It really finished!?

-It's a "safe space".

-You get a feeling of acceptance, and you can do what you really want to do without fear of judgement. We strengthen each

other.

4:15

-10 Shekel! [inb4 jokes]

-Why 10?

-Really, let's do it?

-[man on street] What, do you want 10 Shekel?

-10 Shekel.

-No, then no.

-[at end of para para] I feel like dying!

There's not an entry on the list for 'Anonymous' because you don't get to influence me if I don't know who the fuck you are and why I should listen to you. If you dress well, you've got every right to give me pointers. But somehow I think if you dressed well enough for me to listen to you, you wouldn't need to say it here.

Anyway, that is genuinely, actually, excluding unforeseen circumstances involving weed and verbal diarrea, the last I have to say on the matter on here. Just leave my circle out of it, don't talk shit about them just because you don't like me. That's some highschool shit.

In fact let's go field day, here's my look from the weekend! I was happy with all of it except my lashes not being visible enough (didn't realise I need bigger lowers and didn't curl my uppers enough to stand out against black shadow) and maybe need more accessories!

I don't care to get involved in any toxic shit in general but why do people feel entitled to giving opnions, esp when they're mean and unnecessary?

I hate it when someone says something judgmental or insensitive then tries to pretend that people's negative responses are unwarranted.

Don't be a dick and people won't get angry.

Is it me or does lizzie’s latest post about wanting to be the best gyaru feels a bit weird to read? As if you realised she wasn’t all that “sweet” person you thought she was.

Even purehearted people can be competitive and hard on themselves.

A lot of people I know who are genuinely sweet are struggling with a competitive nature and it makes them almost over compensate? Not that they aren't nice people anyway, but because they are so competitive and subconsciously want to effectively "beat" everyone else they feel guilty and try and suppress it as much as possible.
