Do any of you get plastic surgery?
What hobby are you in- lolita or cosplay?
What have you had done, and how much have you paid out to improve your look?
Do you think plastic surgery is ok, or a definite no.
Post before and after photos of any lolitas or cosplayers.
I dont see this talked about a lot, but I thought it'd be interesting to discuss.

I think plastic surgery is fine, but lying about it is not. I'd like to have fillers for my top lip, forhead, and nasolabial folds, and that "non surgical" nose job where they use fillers to straighten out a nose. I'm in my early 20's though, and I feel like there isn't much point in me getting these done now since they wear off so fast. I'll probably do it as a 30th birthday present.

My face is kind of ugly, but I would never change anything about it. It makes me happy that my face starts to look more like my mothers as I get older. I want to have bigger boobs but I'm too frightened of that surgery, having silicones in my body, and the maintenance. I only want it so I can fit some burando better, so I can also just use a padded bra.

I get 40ccs of botox one a year ($350), to help with any wrinkles.
I am getting under eye filler ($600) as I am 30 now, and I have lost some fat under my eyes and my circles are hollowed out looking.
I am a cosplayer.

Its controversial~ but they say it helps prevent wrinkles, as it keeps your muscles from developing the deep grooves over the years. Once you get it done once, its wonderful!

Has anyone ever gotten lipo/kybella/whatever else there might be to help with a genetic fatty underchin or double chin? It's a minor thing that sounds like it's expensive to get done relative to how overall it's not that bad of a facial problem compared to others. I'm of a healthy skinny weight but just have that hereditary under chin fat and excess skin around my neck. It drives me crazy sometimes how I have to carefully angle my face in pictures to avoid the double chin or the fullness poking out, how it makes my face look even longer and fat, how I don't have that cute slender chin. If anyone has gotten it done did it boost your confidence and last?

>> No.9851269

FWIW anon you can mitigate this both temporarily (by putting your tongue against the roof of your mouth for pics) and long term (by getting a neckline exerciser) without surgery, but that assumes it's not super severe.

The tongue trick does move up some fat in the junction of my jaw to the neck, but it doesn't help with the actual fat under my chin unfortunately. But huh, neck excersise actually works? I have small boobs, and while I like mine for the most part, I wouldn't mind maybe a little bigger since I have trouble filling out some of my JSKs. But having small boobs is lovely for sack dresses and I'm pretty small overall.

Other than that, I'd like a chin implant. I read that you can also try getting fillers for a better profile. Anyone know about that? I try contacting my local place who does fillers and such but they never got back to me. I'd LOVE to get fillers in my chin to see if I like the look before committing to any surgery.

Been thinking about getting my front teeth shaved/contoured. I always knew they were a little bigger than normal and one of them sits in a slight angle so in pictures they look kinda weird. The bottom of the front teeth are also not "smooth". It never really bothered me too much until I recently decided to do a quick rough edit oh an app after taking a photo and wow they look so much better just shortening evening out the bottom. I looked into it online and apparently it's a pretty simple procedure that doesn't cost too much.

I'm not a huge fan of plastic surgery, but if I were given a bunch of money I'd get some loose skin fixed up - I ballooned from 50kg to 90kg when I hit puberty and back down to 60kg in the span of 18 months.. The only parts that really annoy me at the underarms and neck/jowls, because I know that they will get much worse with age.

Thinking that my children/ other younger members of my family will feel weird/ ugly because they don't look like me/ have the "ugly" things I had . Even for wrinkles or aging traits ,

I don't want my friends to feel less young than me because they didn't had surgery and feel pressured to have one, and I prefer to use skincare to not risk to have shitty side effect ( migration of product ) or allergie, trying to age " gracefully".

As a cosplayer it also mean not being as versatile as I like. As a child I always wanted to have a breast implants and a nose job but for crossplay it just make thing impossible/ more difficult .

I don't particularly like my face, but it can look surprisingly pretty in some angles and photos, so I don't want to risk fucking it up.
That said, I desperately need a breast lift. I'd gladly take the surgery scars over what I have now.
Also, not surgery, but I'm considering taking glutathione pills or IV shots to make my skin paler. I actually like my golden brown skin, but I really want to wear pastel pinks without my skintone clashing. I'm just scared it could make me too pale, I don't want to be Casper-tier.

Also, I don't think pastel pinks clash with golden skin, if anything it compliments it.

If I had the money I would definitely get a nosejob and some sort of arms reduction. Even if I'm avarerage pretty and my nose seems not to call that much of other people's attention I've hated the shape of it since always and my family has this fat arms issue while even if I'm thin, my arms looks like those of a slightly overweight person and it both looks ugly and makes fitting in some lolita OP's and blouses a big pain in the ass.

When I was younger I 100% would have said yes to plastic surgery, but getting a little older has made me like myself a little more. I also look at plastic surgery more realistically - I think a lot of people look at plastic surgery as magic, but it really isn't. There are limits to what you can achieve with your face. I had to accept even with plastic surgery I still wouldn't have the "kind" of face I wanted (a cute button nose just wouldn't work on me) so I started to try liking mine more.

That being said, I'd never begrudge someone for surgery and I think it can be an amazing thing. Maybe one day if I have the money I'll get fillers lol but I'm trying to prevent as much damage as possible by loading up on daily sunscreen.

I feel like when people think of Korean plastic surgery they think of girls like pic related. or OP's pic. That kind of look may have been a trend in Korea in the past, but now it's more about looking as natural as possible, which also means it's more of enhancing features than changing them entirely.

I actually just got back from getting my eyes and nose done in Gangnam a few weeks ago. I cosplay and it's made putting on makeup and feeling cute a lot easier. My results came out completely natural to the point where even my close friends couldn't tell exactly what I had done.

>>9850855
>Koreans are soo obsessed with surgery they always look completely different!
I always hear people say this. Surgery is common in Korea, but what people don't realize is that the stats also include skin treatments which contributes to the high percentage. Most Koreans are only getting double eyelid surgery, not changing their whole face. Looking at the drastic changes like the TV show in your pic are a novelty in Korea, which is why it's a show in the first place. Actually, most of the girls in Korea who were getting a lot of work done and wanted big changes were Chinese medical tourists kek

Surprised this thread is still up, these have almost always been deleted in the past.

Anyway, I'm 100% for plastic surgery and fillers. If it makes you happier with your face and appearance and you got the funds, then do it.
I've hated my nose ever since I was a child, it's not super bad but it has a slight hump on the bridge. Getting a nose job is my dream, but I've decided to try fillers first to straighten it up first. I'm doing my masters atm and once I graduate and get a permanent job the fillers are the first thing I'm getting. If the results are good I'm probably getting my lips filled up a bit just to balance my face out.

I think some surgeries and fillers are fine to get while you're young, like nose fillers or others that alter the shape of your features. If you're unhappy with something in yourself, why wait until a certain age and suffer with poor self-esteem? Wrinkle-reduction, face-lifts and other anti-aging procedures obviously come later on.

Accept yourself the way you are, that you are imperfect.
Once you get over your BDD, live with yourself happily for a while, you can consider surgery to improve your life.

I might have BDD, but I won't be getting any surgeries until I get done with other things with my life. And even then, I want to change as little as possible to improve my quality of life. I've had a chin implant because I had a very weak chin. You WILL look more masculine, it's just what happens when you increase anyone's chin size. But that will balance out your face, should you have a weak chin. I'm not saying have it done, surgery is a last resort, but lots of people don't realise that the "masculinity" a larger chin brings is unavoidable. You won't necessarily look like a man, but you would have to come to terms with the fact that it's bigger. So many people get them, expect to look better but not more manly, and get freaked out that their chin is in fact.. bigger. Look at the most "beautiful" women in the world though, almost all have actually quite prominent chins. Bordering on "masculine" sometimes.

Yeah, a small implant and fillers won't make much difference. I suppose I see it a lot more in large implants, like mine. I had a very weak chin, and a large implant. Yeah it's ok. Why wouldn't it be? I don't care. I worry about the pressure some people who make money off their image feel about whether or not to change their looks, but at the end of the day, it's their decision.
I'm so glad that people are discussing chin implants in here. I've got a sort of weak chin and I wish my forehead were smoother, so I have been considering fillers since I don't need a drastic change. Has anyone else gotten fillers? How did you feel about your results?

Yes, I have plastic surgery; non-incision double eyelid surgery, and ptosis correction (which actually made a bigger difference since I went with a more subtle fold. It fixed my 'sleepy' looking eyes, made them look bigger and more alert, and allowed me to keep my fold small).
I'm into both lolita and cosplay.
My eye stuff cost maybe around $2000 or a little less ($1800?). South Korea procedure was so inexpensive! The same stuff would have been around 4-5k PER EYE in the US.
Plastic surgery is a-ok. It's your life, do what you want. Pay for your own surgery and remember that most is not reversible. Omission is fine, but try not to lie directly about it if anyone asks and you decide to share.

I want to get my weak chin aligned and jaw shaving done too, and my quote was only like $10,000, which is so much less than the states. I keep swinging back and forth on deciding if surgery that major will help my enjoyment of life or not. I think I look fine from the front, it's just my side profile that's sort of ugly. :(

I've also gone through a round of orthodontics. I have big front teeth (thanks dad) and my orthodontist did just a little bit of 'aesthetic shaping' on my last visit. Definitely helped balance out my face a lot when they did, and they only took off maybe a mm or less and rounded out the edges just a smidge. They still look just like my own teeth, but just more balanced!

If you've got a tooth at an angle though, I'd probably recommend a round of orthodontics to align everything before you get any shaping done.

I'm terrified of doctors but I've considered a chin reduction (chin is a bit bulb-y, family genetics) or a nose reduction (button/irish nose but I'd like it narrow and slim if possible, like the french nose), I'd probably go to a korean doctor if I decided to because US plastic surgery looks terrible.
I've also had a lot of moles removed including one from my face and I regret nothing. There's a small white scar but it's fading (year later) and my skin is so pale it's hard to see anyway. Still 10000x better than a mole. I used to have a lot of skin tags as well (like miniature moles) and I snipped them all off myself with some sterilized nail clippers. Found one on my armpit the other day and snipped it off. I'm at high risk for skin cancer probably, fucking genetics.
I have eyesight so terrible that even slim-material glasses still end up really thick, and I can't wear contacts (just too bad of eyesight.) I don't think there's actually anything that can be done about it; even surgeries are only recommended for under a certain correction and I'm well over the safe limit. I hate wearing glasses but I don't see a choice.

One of my front teeth is longer than the other. It's annoying but not super noticeable at least. Didn't know this was a thing. I hate dentists but man might be worth it. I had discoloration (brown streaks, my teeth are chemically fucked up from medication I had as a child) and I managed to scrape it off myself using metal tweezers, patience, and daring. Zero regrets, fuck enamel. Now I need to grab those whitening strips because I have bleach white splotches on my teeth (also due to the medication) that can only be hidden by making the rest of my teeth whiter. GULLS please do not jump right into spending an assload on fillers and shit. It's not hard for them to fuck up and make you look fucking weird.

Honestly I recommend everyone in their early 20s add a prescription strength retinoid to their skincare routine. This will take care of fine lines and prevent more from appearing. Even Differin, which is sold OTC in the US now, can help with fine lines (though not nearly as well as retin-a).

>>9857160
>What else could I do, walk around with brown stains on my front teeth the rest of my life?

Uhm... Get caps? Go see a fucking dentist? Your teeth are gonna look like shit all over again really soon if you seriously scraped off a bunch of enamel and sensitized your teeth. Honestly don't even THINK about whitening. You're going to experience immense discomfort and destroy what's left of the enamel.

Not sure if want. A dentistanon on another board told me what I did was essentially microabrasion (I think was the word) which is something dentists do sometimes perform. I mean, when you go to the dentist they have a pick they use to scrape off the plaque do they not? Same concept.
But...I think I'll put off whitening strips for a while. Don't want. Fucking teeth mang. But if the brown stuff comes back it's getting the scrapey scrape again.

So instead of me scraping off some of the enamel, the dentist removes all the fucking enamel and shaves the teeth surface down a measurable width to glue fake surface on top of. Yeah? Half the shit dentists do hurts you more than helps.

If you had ugly stains on your teeth but couldn't afford a dentist wouldn't you do the same? Man it was embarrassing. I'll skip the whitening strips until I learn more about potential effects, but as far as scrapey scrape I regret nothing.

I get lip fillers done every so often. So far I have spent £1000 over the course of a couple of years on lip fillers. They do look fantastic though, and that's not me being deluded. I wouldn't recommend them if you have a bad lip shape though as it will only be accentuated.
I'd like to have liposuction on my arms one day, and fillers in my forehead in a few years.

Hey gulls, I wish I could spoiler this image to soare you all from this horrific image but I can’t. Looking for advice.

Got braces as a kid to fix teeth that looked like a minefield, but they didn’t fix the overbite. For as long as I can remember I haven’t been able to keep my mouth closed/lips shut naturally, either because of the hulking huge front teeth I have, or the overbite and how my jaw developed after, or both. I consciously force it closed, but it looks really weird and there’s a lot of visible tension around the chin area, like I’m gritting my teeth. It looks really, really bad in photos, and I’ve only been getting by by covering the chin/mouth area entirely or angles and plentiful shoop. The dentists I’ve spoken to said that corrective jaw surgeries have a miniscule success rate and often end up being botched and even uglier than successful, but my other option is to remove like 5+ adult teeth over the course of at least a year, which I can’t feasibly do due to travelling for school. What do, gulls? Or am I cursed to have this horrific mongoloid chin and profile forever doomed to be ugly? Pretty sure this cursed jaw/chin/mouth issue is also responsible for long term health issues I’ve suffered like consistent mouth ulcers. >>9852147
What do you recommend, and where did you go for your underbite surgery?

Also not as important as chin thing but what the fuck is my nose, how do I even describe it, and how do I fix it? where do I even begin?

Sage for samefag and blogposting but it’s bad enough to the point where normal people will actually bring it up with me like “do you have some kind of issue with your mouth?” and “why is your mouth open all the time?” and it really fucks with m self esteem. The nose thing to a lesser extent, but without angles I look like a pig and it looks like a horrible pig snout.

I’m desperate to fix my trainwreck of a face but I don’t even know where to look.

Also someone mentioned upthread about shaving the length of their front teeth- me too, mine are a good 2.5-3 mm longer than the ones next to it and I want the death, thanks.

Your nose is honestly fine. I really don't see any problem with it at all. I know this is kind of a quick fix, and a rushed photoshop job, but I think it's possible you could benefit from a chin implant. I'm chin implant anon from further up the thread, and I also have a slight overbite. You have a very weak chin, I know it's because of your jaw and overbite, but this would be easier than a huge jaw surgery or having loads of teeth removed. Anyway, I'm not a surgeon and you'd need to ask a surgeons advice. You can post your question and those pictures on RealSelf and get some advice quite easily from doctors. You are a mouth breather, anon. All of your dental issues are a result of this. Any good dentist should have intervened when you were a kid and not now, because that's when it still can be fixed (as the skull is still in development). It can usually be fixed by changing diet, changing your swallow pattern, tongue posture and breathing exercises. If you are past 18 those exercises will do little to no change to your skull. But giving it a try anyway won't hurt I guess.

Dental health is really important to your general health, if I were you I'd consider surgery even if it were risky.

This all *magically* dissapeared when I put on a pushup bra. the harassment stopped entirely. I had to wear padding in order to not receive harassment.

constant harassment on my chest size since I was 12, constantly told that I might as well be a man. I have body dysphoria, which is weird for someone who models for a living. Clothes don't fit me properly, whenever I wear something with "boob cups" there's nothing to fit into them.

I don't want giant tits that will make it difficult for me to fit into clothing, or cause me back pain. I just want to be able to properly fit into clothes and to not feel like less of a woman.

Not fitting into clothes is the biggest issue honestly, I already feel like shit because I'm tall and into Japanese fashion, but no surgery can "fix" my height.

Go to an actual maxillofacial surgeon, not a dentist. Often noses become less of an issue once jaws are fixed, although that's usually with underbite surgery rather than overbite...one of my friends honestly looked like she'd had her nose done but actually they'd just shaved her mandible back (or maybe cut out some bone in the middle, not sure) and put in some metal to distract her maxilla. Overbite is technically very tricky from what I've heard. I think it's because the mandible being distracted forward, so you're trying to do more to the mobile half of the jaw. Regardless, breathing issues is a good indication for it and it may well have been something you were genetically doomed to have regardless of mouth breathing or whatever exercises supposedly miraculously cure a bad genetic lottery.

I have a crooked nose from an accident, it also has a small bump and the tip is too round and big. With good lightning and angles it looks okay, but I wish I didn't have to worry about it... still not bad enough for me to get surgery. My insurance covered it as they also biopsied the birthmarks for cancer because I am at massive skin cancer risk because of how many I have. (Thankfully cancer free)

I think plastic surgery is okay, as long as you make sure to understand that you will always find things you want to fix and not get addicted. It was so easy and mostly painless that there are a ton more things I want to do so I'm holding off for at least 10 years after I had my last so I don't get too much done.

I'd like a double chin reduction, small amount lip fillers, and something to get rid of my dark circles.

Cosplayer here. I’ve had Botox in my masseter muscles to slim down my jaw. Initially I was looking into a full surgical jaw reduction, but the injections seemed to work well - it came up nicely in photos. I should be getting another round soon actually.

I've been really self conscious about my jaw/neck area, I have a roundish/squarish face and a thicker shorter neck, and I feel like it makes me look chubby, even though I'm pretty thin. I want a more defined jaw and slimmer face. As I've gotten older it's started to bother me more (I'm 27) and I have looked into cosmetic surgery, but I'm realistically never going to be able to afford it. As far as surgical options go, neck lift or lower face lift could work, depending on the nature of the thickness. They would remove fat and tighten the skin at the crease of your jawline.

For non surgical, the botox could work, especially if the thickness in your lower face is due to enlarged lower jaw muscles. This is common in habitual gum chewers.

I don’t remember the exact cost, but it was around AU$600 I believe? They use a lot of botox for it. I never knew about it until i started researching jaw reductions, because the people who normally get this procedure are people who grind their teeth and overwork their jaws.

It’s supposed to only last around four months due to how much you use your masseters, but mine lasted six!

It does give you a sharper jaw I think. Mine was definitely rounded out a lot because of how big the muscles were, and it actually blew me away seeing my jaw look... like....... flat lmao. I would definitely recommend a consultation at least, if you think it could help. I felt so much better after mine.

Idk what that first anon is talking about, once a year is not how you do botox.

In your 30s, every 4 months is recommended (6 if money is a problem). The stuff wears off in three or so and you'll actually have much worse wrinkles in the long run if you perpetually let your atrophied face muscles regrow in those interim year periods.

I do botox (fillers are not for every face, and they're really easy to do badly, so... watch out) and I wish someone had talked me into it in my 20s. The younger you start, the less you'll pay lifetime. Starting it in your 40s/50s means the creases are basically permanent and you'll need surgery to really fix anything; starting in your 20s/early 30s is the way to do it. I encourage literally everyone to get started now if it's at all a thing you think you might care about later. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure in this case.

I think if it helps you remember not to frown/raise your eyebrows etc. and gets you out of the habit of particular facial expressions then you're less likely to have the muscles and wrinkles re-develop. There isn't any evidence about getting worse wrinkles as far as I'm aware - my cosmetic doctor said that's usually something that people get told so that they feel like they need to come more often, although the effects do wear off after 3-4 months and the natural ageing that you were gonna get anyway doesn't exactly stop just because botox, it's just that the contrast is more apparent because you went from partly-smoothed with the botox to not.

nayrt. Botox works by paralysing your face muscles, so that they aren't pulling on the skin, which is what reduces wrinkles. Botox doesn't affect the skin itself at all, it's all about not moving the muscles so you don't move the skin.

So the logical conclusion, given that Botox only works because it restricts facial expressions, is to restrict facial expressions yourself without Botox.

It still sounds like an unreasonable habit to pick up, which I guess is why doctors still recommend women do ongoing treatment more frequently instead of recommending you not show emotions.

Yeah
Born with putrid eyes that have a negative canthal tilt and are close set, so I got two surgeries, one to address the tilt and achieve a neutral one, and the other one to conceal the low IPD.
Also had jaw implants to tackle my disgusting lower third and am looking to somehow address my zygos since my overall facial width is below the 30th percentile for men. Having a small skull is comical. A higher nose bridge wouldn't be bad, too.

I don't regret it. I actually get attention from women, now, and don't feel like killing myself whenever I see my face in the mirror.

I've known guys who ended up with amazing life-changing results here in LA after years of mouth-breathing and poor dental health, but they paid a pretty penny.
Chin implants are also an option.

As for your nose, it is in fact a bit too bulbous, that is, your nostrils are fleshy, and judging from the picture, you have a low nose bridge, too. Generally, with your nose:

>want the widest part of your nose to match your inner canthus width
>want the radix, or portion where the nose starts sloping down to align with the center of your eye, any lower is a low radix
>want your lip length to be ~1.34 times your nose width

thankfully you have a good philtrum so your nose isn't much of an issue. nose isn't that important in all honesty, except in the more egregious cases. eye area (the king) and facial length and width proportions/bone growth are the most important factors for physical attractiveness.

You can't get the same dramatic results as a rhinoplasty but it definitely can lift the bridge of your nose and improve the side profile. . You can also get filler placed in your cheeks for definition if needed

I can relate a bit to that. I have a big nose, but so does my dad and mom. It's the family nose and I would never touch it. I do how ever already have more hollowness under my eyes then even my mom does and it bothers me... Considering getting under eye fillers.

They can make them natural looking. I have no clue why the fake balloony ones are so popular in the west, because we had natural looking ones for ages and they cost the same.

If you have a decent amount of breast tissue, they can feel quite natural because your fat covers it. The bigger the breast the better. Placing behind the muscle also helps. But if you have no breast it'll be impossible to have them feel natural.

>Obsessing over one's appearance is a mental disorder, when your looks do not affect your life in overly negative way.

Actually. Although you can archive most things while looking bad, looking good can make them more easy. While in other things, it can make it harder. The way you look defiantly affects your life. People make their first impression and assumptions on them. And let's be honest, people do act on those impressions and assumptions as well.

Next to that, not everyone who get's surgery is obsessing. Some people might just have the money and luxury to worry about it, because it's the worst of their problems.

I recently had major sinus surgery and got my deviated septum fixed.
Even though it wasn't supposed to change how I look, I now suddenly have a much slimmer face and smoother brow line, due to how swollen and bloated my face was for years because of constant infection.

My nosebridge is also a lot slimmer now. On top of that, a lot of my skin issues, mainly red and dry patches on and around my nose and cheeks, have vanished.

I never would have thought so many of my facial issues were due to health problems.

Now that I had an accidental taste of doctors fixing my face, I'm really wondering if I should save up to get lip fillers and fix my fat grandma arms.

21, cosplayer, no surgeries. But I’d like to get a lip lift or gum filler to make my upper lip taller, and a small nose job to straighten it out cause it’s very crooked from a gymnastics accident as a kid
My lips are shaped very similar to my dads side of the family where it’s pointy on the bottom of my top lip, we call it “bird lip”, and the older they get the worse it looks, so I want to pull my lip up so it stops doing that. Pic related, it does that shape but my lips aren’t that thin.

Literally said no one but hookers and golddiggers. I've seen professional women complain about being conventionally attractive because it means men will be more likely to harass them or not take them seriously, and even have promotions witheld from them because people above want to save face (and not get accussed of dishing out a promotion for a blowjob).

I work as a VP partner in an international bank, and none of the senior VPs are good looking women. Sadly, in the real world, you need to work your ass off and network, and that's how you get ahead in life.

I feel like it's one of these lines you walk between being too attractive/not attractive enough. If you are confirmed fat and ugly then you know it will have to be all be hard work and networking, but often while you're working your way up you need to be seen to be making the effort to look presentable, so being just on the slightly better side of average face wise without having a "hot body" seems to be the optimal combo.
