I think it's because people feel more strongly about things that affect them. E.g a while ago there was a Polish girl who posted a coord with a gun to CoF, and Americans were commenting about how she put her fingers and that it was offensive because of recent shootings and stuff. The Reichsadler eagle as its own doesn't qualify as Nazi symbol, if it's without the Swatiska it has no ideology attached to it and you can still find it on many buildings in Germany. Fraktur fonts like the one in question have been used for centuries, so they are not exclusive to the Nazis. You can't see it on her coord picture but the uniform even has the fleur de lis on it. And how historically accurate is that?

I feel like Meta was inspired by Stauffenberg (the guy who tried to kill Hitler but failed, his operation was literally called Walküre and he even wore an eye patch and he was badass af), so they tried to make an uniform with denazificated elements on it but also slapped random stuff on it like the fleur-de-lis and called it a day.

While I think you're point is absolutely fantastic and I learned something from it (Stauffenberg sounds like a cool dude) I really don't think that was Meta's intention. Vkei, which in the older days did have more of an influence on lolita than it doea now, was kind of notorious for using straight up Nazi imagery. To be edgy or look cool, I'm not sure, but I feel like that's what Meta was doing. Do I think it's the worst possible thing to wear? As someone from the Netherlands, it's not something that is "just history". We still have 2 minutes of silence for the people that died during the WWII on May 4th, and celebrate our freedom on May 5th. The Anne Frank House is still our #1 spot for tourists to visit. So maybe for Americans it's a thing that isn't spoken about anymore, but in my country it's still very much alive.

That said, I never got the whole thing with people thinking Nazi-style fashion is fashionable. Regardless of it not containing the symbols or being based on one of the good guys. Just aesthetically, I don't see the whole appeal as to why people (Japanese also) are so into that. I believe we have had a discussion about the set within the Dutch Lolita comm itself, but I also can’t remember seeing it here.

In my opinion as long as they don’t wear swastika’s and they aren’t screaming right-wing extremistic stuff, I don’t think they have to be critiqued this harsh. For me this outfit isn’t much different from other Military outfits.
