So I keep running into this issue with my YN bag. The pins with the white border and the little little badges only have single pinbacks on them, but they keep rotating out of place and make the bag look sloppy. Are there better ways to secure them, or should I just suck it up and glue another pin to the back of them?

Also, my "grapevines" (only 2-3 straps on a single one) keep moving as well and occasionally cover other merch. Is there a way to prevent this? I considered glue dots but I really wanna stay away from those since there's quite a few stories of them melting.

Other than that, I'd love some concrit!

It's kinda hard to photograph so here's a shitty diagram.

The dark grey is the button and the line is for the button's pin.
The green lines represents the safety pin. You want the "front" of the safety pin to go around the button's pin. The curved green line is supposed to represent the curved side of the safety pin.

So when you loop the safety pin around the button's pin back like this, it'll lock the button in place. I've found that by doing this, the buttons that easily open up on accident will stay closed. You can also hook a hang charm on the safety pin part.

Bought the Whale Fall bag a while back and never did a review so since I was messing with it yesterday I went ahead and took some pics.

The bag was stockphoto displayed for tsumtsums but I bought it anyway thinking I could use it for charms/keychains/badges anyway. Turns out you can't unless you make an insert or you're VERY patient.

The bag has a fabric liner between the window and the inside pocket that's only accessible about 50%. One half of the star has a zipper and the other half isn't secured at all so there's a gap just big enough to put your hand in, I guess if you need to adjust something without unzipping it.
You can fix this with a safety pin or anything akin to that.

The bag works fantastically for plushies. I stuffed it full and the window still didn't bulge out so it's great if you just need a bag to hold that sort of thing in.
Also works for huge can badges apparently but as you can see there's not room for much else in it after that.

Bag comes with 1-2 straps (forget if I had one or two because I ordered for a friend as well) and a removable snap-on bow that you can attach to the back or the front depending on whether you want the window partially covered or not. Also has two connectors inside the window to hang stuff from so I tossed in my Kotetsu ballchain figures to try it out.
Bonus to the bag is that you can buy additional bows so you can mix and match colors or have bows on both sides.

9818725

>>9818723
And here's the inside of the bag. You can see the zipper pull sticking out and a big of the gap on the right side where there's nothing keep the fabric liner shut. The bag is really sturdy and I got it to stand on its own weight with just the can badge inside.

Overall I like this bag as something to carry either big items or plushies/tsumtsums. Would not recommend if you're planning on layering can badges or creating an elaborate display unless you make an insert first or redo the liner to make it unzip more.

Having the audacity to say this when YOU NEVER POSTED in all the time you were in there just adds to the case you were only there to stir shit. You never even introduced yourself in the channel we had specifically for that, and you seemed perfectly fine talking in other servers.

Well it technically used to be a thing before itabags anyway but the little weebs these days refused to acknowledge their bags aren't 'itabags' but instead 'conbags' or 'button/badge bags' depending on whether you have general merch or can badges.

You used to put them on satchel bags which were really trendy for some reason. I guess because at the time at conventions you could find anime themed satchel bags? They fell out of trend in the mid/late 2000s.

Mimori! Good taste anon, akb0048 holds great memories.
If you obtain the hard plastic card sleeves, these card can be protected and fit in the bag quite nicely. I think layering the cards up and using a chain to hang in front of them would solve the problem of little merch.

Being happy over your badge is one thing (and I don't care), being spoonfed on bags without bothering to look yourself and then stating you want to spend up to $200 on one just shows that you're genuinely a dumb fuck who has no idea what you're doing. "Bluh bluh who hurt you anon" are you a fucking child seriously? This is 4ch not tumblr. Want me to talk to you in really simple English? Would you like some uwus? Hahaha you're pathetic.

my love live bags! nico was my first itabag, currently only used in room decoration because the base bag is a floppy piece of garbage what will be replaced soon. mari bag is my newest and I'm a huge fan of this base bag! the front pocket is deep enough for plushies, has a pocket inside for a water bottle.

these aren't finished and probably will be WIPs forever

first of all, incredible taste! I'm working on my Nagisa bag right now myself. For cards, I would maybe try getting the flimsier card protectors so you can glue them onto a sturdier backing and layer them? Because while the hardcase sleeves do protect well, they're bulky and awkward to use from my attempts at least.
You could also use themed items to fill out the bag a bit, cover up some more space.
As for more merch, there is a towel from the ichiban kuji - it is blue though. There's also an additional metal phone strap, which I've found multiple times on auctions for a dollar or so. I can also doublecheck my collection for you to see if I have any extras from the lots I bought.

>> No.9821967

>>9821531
Like the other anon said, you want rigid card sleeves like toploaders or card savers. It looks like you're going to have to pick your favorite cards too, because it doesn't look like al of those will fit even if you layer them.
Also, this is a really common quesstion that's already been answered in the FAQ, so please check that out first next time.

>>9821726

I only have one picture saved, but I the orange really helps the white bag pop.

As for attaching them, it depends on what type of fake flower you get. If it has a stem, you can always cut little holes in your insert or just make a foam border and put the flowers through the holes, and then either tape or hot glue the stem as sort of a backing so they don't come out of place. For flat bottomed flowers, you can hot glue them to your insert I suppose. Velcro dots are also an option.

I paid $130 for one button and now it feels like it would be the smarter and wiser thing to just stop myself

Pretty sure the only reason I developed such an expensive hobby is because I grew up so poor and always feel like if I don't spend my money it's going to disappear. While I'm not to $45k/year by myself yet I'm not in the projects anymore so maybe it's time to psychoanalyze myself a bit and why I do this.

Same thing here anon. I've got little to no savings because I spend it on things I couldn't afford before thinking "Well if I don't do it now, I won't be able to."

I can't believe people are losing their shit because I spent a dollar or two wrong, I wouldn't itabag if I was dirt poor and that money mattered so much lmao.

I won't be buying from aitai kuji anymore just so you can rest easy friend

I'm the same way, anon. Just got out of the hood like 2 years ago and got into a bad habit of buying things because I've never been able to before. My therapist said it's really common for people from poor backgrounds to have this reaction to sudden stability/safety so you gotta just crackdown on yourself. Start like a savings account and put half your merch budget into it instead of actually buying merch. It feels good having even a small amount of savings and lessens that guilt from buying a slightly more expensive piece of merch occasionally.

Sorry for the blog post. Take this cute bag from a previous thread as payment.

Dropping $100 on a badge does fall into common sense.

> your income
> your budget
> the rarity of the badge
> the value of that badge
> the difficulty of obtaining the badge
> the justification of your purchase "do you need it to complete a collection, what would you sacrifice to buy it, etc."

Most of the stuff is common sense and relative to your circumstance . But if you miss one part of it you're just fucking yourself over

Excited! Kind of like when I meet a dog, I am instantly predisposed to like this person. They have great taste, and anyone who loves my husbando enough to devote that much time and money is worth talking to in my book.

I used to also feel a little bit competitive if their bag was bigger than mine, like, man, I need to shore up and get better. But these days my collection is big enough I can be content in my husbando shrine regardless of the size of the other person's devotion.

Excited but at the same time I'd judge it because what little bags I've seen of my fave two characters they've been half-assed and it makes me bitter and makes me want to make an even better bag to make up for that shit.

I guess you could call it competitive? If someone had a better bag than me I wouldn't feel as bad but if I see bags that look like no effort was put into it then I feel really annoyed and want to just make them regret no putting effort into it by doing better.

It's comforting to know I'm not the only one who hit this hard. My mindset is always mathing out to 'as long as my bank account doesn't hit zero after bills' then it's fine, even though I'm making four times as much as I did at the beginning, and at this income level there's no reason to be living paycheck to paycheck.

I need to get in the habit of depositing to my savings account and forgetting the money exists, it's a pain in the ass when an actual emergency like car repairs pops up. It's not sustainable in the long run.

How do you feel when someone sells all of the merch on their itabag to hop onto a new one? Especially hopping from a fading fandom moving to a current popular one.

more seriously, if their interest has waned in the fandom i don't expect them to keep the merch desu. can't relate because my fandom was fading before i even joined it, but if you truly don't love your husbando anymore, sometimes divorce is the right option.

>> No.9823293

>>9823282
I've done this before. I'll like a character and start buying stuff and want to make a bag then after I'm exposed to the fandom for a while or the show is off the air for a while the joy fizzles out and you just don't want to look at the merch anymore.

bandwagon jumping is entirely different though because people make bags just to be popular and then move to the next big thing to repeat the cycle.

I don't have a problem with it, even bandwagoners are good for the anime economy. Scores of people always interested in the New Hot Weeby Thing are the reason we're getting simulcast releases and local merch releases ala hot topic.

Best case scenerio they're selling something I'm interested in, and will part with it for cheap since they don't care anymore.

Well I've only ever seen one other bag that someone made of the same theme mine was.
I do get excited but also I'm naturally competitive so if I see someone making a bag with the same character I try to come up with more ideas on how to make mine standout more/more outrageous, I just want mine to be the best and most iconic.
When I see popular posts like>>9823324 on FB it makes me want to do something to top that
not like in a "I'm better than you" way but more of a "I love my husband/waifu the most and I want to make sure everyone knows it" kind of way
