Nayrt but even a simple coordinate has to have an overall appeal and cohesiveness. Balance of colors, accessories that do not overwhelm but compliment instead. Proper fit and proportions. textures that do not clash, but add depth.

There's an art to even a simple coordinate that distinguishes good from bad. I enjoy seeing any style, ott, simple, casual, that has an overall appealing and polished look. I like the thought behind an outfit, not just how fancy or intricate it is.

I'm genuinely curious- What is it that OP (and others) like so much about this coord? Not trying to start shit, I just don't see the appeal. Some others were fawning over it in the COF thread, too.
I get that taste is subjective but it just doesn't.... look good to me. The tights are kind of weird, the jacket doesn't go, and the overall coord apart from those specifics is just very eh. The wig makes her look like a grandma. (IMO)

it's easier to avoid these mistakes if you're thin and just starting out, but it's harder if you are both a beginner and lolita plus or western plus.

It's their property, heck, they paid for it.
I'm not entitled to tell anyone what they can or cannot do to their pieces.
When you alter a piece you know the resale value may drop but as long as you accept that, it's fine.
Personally I'd rather see someone with a professionally altered piece than someone wearing a piece that makes them look like the Michelin man.
