Well to be serious, I was hoping Sakura Con would get TeddyLoid since he was at Kumoricon, but oh well.

I've never been to Sakura-Con before, but I was going to go this year. Are guests announced all at once before the event? Or like is OKAMOTO'S it? The 2018 guest page looks really sad. I was hoping for at least a few J-fashion brands and shows

My friend is super psyched about Mana. I feel like I should be because all lolitas should be but really there aren't a ton of Moitie dresses I am crazy about and I didn't grow up listening to Visual Kei bands at all. In fact I don't care about any kind of foreign music.

I've never been to a brand tea party though and that sounds interesting. At the same time I kind of hate meet ups because being social isn't really fun for me these days.

Has sak ever had a brand tea party before and what was it like? I like going to bigger meet ups because it doesn't require forced socializing and I can just blend in more or less. I assume this one will be pretty large and include a fashion show - but do they give out prizes, play games or anything like that?

Does Mana speak at things he shows up to? I feel like that would be worthwhile.

The only thing really making me want to go is that Wunderwelt is a vendor.

I have been to a convention where AP did a fashion show. I believe height was between 5'4" and 5'10 and must provide own makeup, wig, shoes.
Brand shoes (as in AP tea parties) were not necessary I believe.

I've modeled for a Baby the Stars Shine Bright show.

I'm 5'1. :) I think I'm kind of dumpy, so I couldn't believe I'd been accepted.

My friend also got in. She walked for Alice and the Pirates. She's super tall, basically 6 ft and has a super pretty face.

We walked the same show lol, so some brands are more relaxed about height. I think what matters more is if the model fits the clothing that they happened to decide on showing and if they fit the general lolita image.

It just depends, so I wouldn't take AP's reqs as a golden rule or anything.

Honestly if you're not interested in the guest, convention tea parties are usually not the greatest. The guest is the main draw, along with the fashion show if you're a big fan of the brand, but you're unlikely to get particularly good food or ambience unless it's hosted at a real restaurant off-site.
As for games and prizes, it just depends on what the organizers plan. Sometimes there's photo-ops with the guest, or a raffle.

Mana historically doesn't talk at public appearances, but I wouldn't be surprised if he spoke quietly to attendees because it would be kind of weird to just hover silently around tables. He's been kind of backing off the "super mysterious lord of darkness" shtick lately and acting more normal. However he's highly unlikely to pick up a mic and make a speech.

It isn't brand specific.
It is BYO shit. Nothing will be supplied. Models are expected to be self supplied, ready to go, and attend rehearsal.
As far as I can tell there is no compensation for participating.
Because it is not brand specific seems like there is no requirements either except no replicas.

Haven't attended a brand tea party before but is it an absolute requirement that you wear a piece from that brand (like an OP or even accessory) or is wearing something in that style generally acceptable (ie as long as you wear Classic to an IW tea party or Sweet to an AP tea party). I've only seen fairy-kei brands select models based on personal style because those people might have hair colored like cotton candy or something, and I think that's greatly preferred vs. wigs, but I don't think personal style is considered all that much in other brands.

I think MMM is gonna care way more about finding people that actually fit their clothing/ look good in their choice of makeup.

Try snagging a cheap piece off of LM before the con if you can.

About 60% of tea parties in the US will say a main brand piece, 35% brand piece but doesn’t have to be a main piece, and like 5% brand isn’t mandatory but encouraged. It would be better to look at a brand’s tea parties requirement in Japan to get a good idea of what to expect.
