I'm new to commissions, but I'm looking for a decent Catherine Cosplay, wig and outfit that it quality and accurate to the design. How much would that set me back? My best guess would be $200-$300 range?

It's actually pretty neat and clean, but the base of the wig especially the back look really greasy.

Aesthetically, ribbon curls like that look stupid, and the proportions are going to look ridiculous when it's worn. It's too literal those weird ribbon corkscrew curls are a visual shorthand for a chunky curly ponytail, like in the pic.

>> No.9792312

>>9792307
>>9792307
Yea no, it's way easier to draw wavy ponytails than it is to do corkscrew curls
You can just make it wavy like that if you're lazy and don't are about being accurate, but as long as you size them correctly and have them placed well on your head, it looks fine.

yeah, you just destroyed your own argument right there; you're right, it's a LOOSE curl.

Honestly if someone wanted to gain commission level skills, what is the best way to learn? I don’t want to commission but I love styling wigs. I’m not a licensed stylist but I enjoy wig work and cutting my own bangs. I’m fine with braids, cutting bangs, layering, basic anime character styling for females but I struggle with the big spikes. I made a Spark (Pokémon go back when that was HUGE) wig as a favor for a friend and it turned out shit. He was nice about it but kept it in his car forever. It wasn’t awful, but the spikes were less pointy and more clumpy, I love reading tutorials and such but besides just making cosplay, are there other ways to practice? I may not want to make a full costume but just do the wig? I don’t want money, but I’d like to help my close friends. Their style is just different than mine. I like simple female characters while they like Sasuke-type hair and stuff like that, but i would also like to do such characters someday
