Can you do a non comic cosplay to a comic con? I was going to do a Miku cosplay since I have everything for it and wouldn't mind wearing it again, but is there some written code you never do anything but comic stuff? Never been to a comic con before

There's no AX thread up yet so figured I'd ask here.

I have a wedding to attend July 7th, which means I'd only be able to go July 5th and 6th and head home the night of the 6th or morning of the 7th. Would that be worth it? I have a dumb question regarding dressing for your body type. Pic related pops up every now and then on cgl and is also on lolitaguidebook.
As someone with a V-shaped body I should avoid things that draw attention to my upper half and anything that cuts my frame in a diagonal line, which means not going to wild with frilly blouses. What exactly do they mean by decoration on the bust/blouse then? Something like necklaces and idk what else ?

>> No.9782905

>>9782898
No ruffles on the bust, no bows there. Also anon, these charts are only suggestions, no body is the same, you ought to try if you look good in something before you completly scratch it from your wardrobe. Myself, I'm a hourglass, but I look good in highcollars and I won't stop wearing them just because.

>> No.9782926

I'm sorry, I forgot to add the table suggests that having decoration on bust/blouse will actually help you there, judging by the separation between + and - .

But you're probably right. in the end it all comes down to trying things for yourself.

>> No.9785733

>>9785727
It's kind of on the auction page, but unless you know where your SS is located and depending on what kind of shipping you choose with your SS it can vary. Underneath the item description there are two sections - the one on the right is about shipping. It should say where it's from, what kind of shipping methods they provide, sometimes a flat fee.

Honestly I always just expect shipping to be anywhere from ¥300 to ¥1000 depending on how heavy the item is and how far apart the shipper / my SS are. Unless you're ordering really tiny stuff, I often got dirt cheap domestic shipping when I was buying individual trading cards.

i've been into lolita since i was like 11, but now i finally have expendable income to start my wardrobe. do i start with buying basics like pettis and blouses or do i just go headfirst into buying a full coord?

>> No.9788991

>>9788978
Figure out what style and colors you want to wear and then go for the petticoat and foundation pieces - i.e. a cupcake/bell petticoat will suit sweet or gothic, A-line suits most classic pieces and some gothic pieces as well; blouses come in all kinds of cuts, details, and colors, and even though the basic peter pan collar off white blouse will match most styles, it's better to decide what you like before you buy the first blouse you find.
Decide on the basics and build your first coord from there. If you pick versatile pieces it'll be easier for you to build a functional wardrobe, which will make it easier to coord the same pieces in new ways and also save you money in the long run.

Depends on what's the reason behind dressing as a girl.
If it's purely a fetish, don't go out with it, keep it in your bedroom.
Really love lolita, but are a guy? Then being brolita is an option. Just please shave these manlegs and manarms, wear long sleeves and tights/otks. Yes, hair can still poke through them. And for god's sake, shave and apply make up.
Being trans? Then you don't want to be seen as a guy for sure. It's normal for girls to wear dresses. Just learn how to dress, use make-up, and put a lot of effort into it.

I have a couple sailor neckline dresses and round lower collared dresses like the pic related. With sailor dresses, I usually wear a hat with a ribbon tied under my chin, but with the more wide collars, I feel as though my neck is a little too bare. Not sure what kind of necklaces I should be looking at. Figured chokers would fit the bill, but I don't know how well it'll work? Would a simple ribbon choker in main/accent colours? Or should it at least attempt to look frilly? Sorry I'm as dumb as a bag of rocks.

>> No.9792606

>>9792604
Personally I think that chokers above big collars like this look a bit silly, but I'd say the level of detail of the choker you pick should be balanced with what you're wearing.
I.e. if your OP/blouse is very frilly, pick a more simple choker. Statement chokers look better worn with "cleaner" main pieces imo, unless you're going for an OTT look - And even then it's better to simply try it on with the coord you have in mind and consider what it looks like, so you don't end up with a mess.
For the OP you posted, I'd go with a ribbon choker in a matching/contrasting color or a delicate pearl choker, possibly with a cute centerpiece that's not too overwhelming.

I have a question about body shape. My body has always been very straight. Even though I am thin, my waist lacks definition, and my hips/ass never seemed to get any bigger. I have always considered myself a "rule" or "banana" type.
However, many guides I look at say that if you have about 10 inches of difference between your bust/hip and waist measurements, you are an hourglass.
I am currently 32-23-33, but I really just look like a box. I look thin from the side but wide from the front. So I am still a "ruler," right? Is there anything short of surgery I can do to look more curvy or feminine?

>> No.9793932

Try to build muscle on your butt and thighs. Also do core workouts to see if the issue is that you are retaining water in your gut. Eating some more high fiber veg can help.

Don't do laxatives or skinny tea. It works for a day or so, but it comes right back. Long term use of those is a recipe for gut problems. (Plus it's a slippery slope to EDs.)

I have the same issue and nearly the same measurements. The only real surgeries you can get are butt/breast implants or lower rib removal (for a smaller waist).

For workouts, you'd want to look into lunges rather than just squats; squats will just give you massive thunder thighs (unless you're looking for that). There's not a whole lot you can do with your actual hips.
