Comment all your helpful tips and tricks for being long and lengthy in the fashion.
Since some of the problems we have overlap with plus-size lolitas, you guys are welcome here too since we all have to ADAPT.

>Long sleeves wont work for you, ever. Long sleeves are now 3/4 sleeves, and you meant for them to look like that, okay?
>Underskirts, if you like the look.
>Your legs will look super elegant in anything, don't be afraid to wear heels to elongate them even more.
>To add onto this, flat shoes make big feet look like boats, heels are your friend anyways.
>Stop being a lil bitch.
>Look up dress lengths beforehand and see where things will fall on your body so you can avoid feeling like you're going to off yourself (whY???) whenever something doesn't fit.
>As long as you're not obese you should look fine. If you're overweight, cut back on the junk so you can fit better, but that goes for all heights, really.
>No one's going to kill you if you have a few inches of thigh on show. Sure some old-fashioned anons might piss their pants, but in reality who gives a fuck?
>If you think your tits are a problem, wear a minimiser bra, or get shapewear. But ribs exist, and you can't change those, so accept that (please don't poke them in with a too-tight corset).
>Be prepare to be disappointed when things don't look right, because it'll happen. But then make it work for you, there's always a way.
>Also something I haven't tried yet, if you can: make dresses that don't fit into skirts. that way you can make it sit exactly on your waist.

Another anon said to watch this, and I found it pretty helpful. I didn't realise making your jsk into a halter dress would help:

I'm into old school and I am tall, so I often end up with dresses that look especially short on me. However most underskirts available won't cut the old school look with their chiffon.
What has been working really well for me are some fully elastic waist band skirt with an old school look. I wear them around my hips and as long as the colour matches well enough you often don't notice where the dress ends and the skirt starts (assuming you are wearing all cotton).
I have pic related in black, it's a lot less tacky if you remove the bow and overal a great piece for adding a couple extra cms.

I use the kind Sock Dreams sell, it's not bad. Some anon once recommended Staysput, I haven't used it myself but it has good reviews if you want to try it.

Imo, part of being a tall lolita is accepting that you count as plus size now. I see people saying 'I hate it when someone is obviously filling out the shirring to the max', and I sometimes let it get to me. I can't help the fact that my ribcage is bigger, but I have to keep remembering that these clothes are made for girls almost a whole foot shorter than me.

Skirts and JSK's from Metamorphose that they call "medium" length are actually super long and look great on tall people without having to mod them or add underskirts! It's harder to spot them second hand because the seller won't always put that it's the medium version.

Being tall just means you’re tall. For some people it also means they count as plus sized, but that’s definitely not true for everyone.

>> No.9781615

I agree with you that being tall doesn’t make you plus sized necessarily regarding ribs, waist, etc but it certainly counts as “plus” to height. I think it’s convenient to just put tall and wide together, like how men’s stores have “big and tall”

Side note, I love the Russians for their tall inspo. From what I’ve heard, they’re pretty cliquey too so if you look like shit you aren’t gonna get invited to stuff.

IW and some other brands do "tea length" dresses which is code for long, and depending on the precise length it may or may not be just what you need, especially if you are really tall.

>> No.9783630

If you have longer torsos and still want an AP dress, you can give Victorian Letter and Mercator long jsks a shot -- both are supposed to be "low waisted" and have longer skirts. If you're not too wide, Eternal Carnival jsk also has a slightly longer torso and skirt, but it doesn't have a zipper so you'll have to fit the dress over your head/boobs.

I don't think I'd recommend AP to tallitas anyway. Even when they do make long dresses quite often the waist is still placed for a smaller girl. Depending on the design sometimes it works and sometimes it looks like you're wearing a frilly night gown.

I've only browsed for meta on lolibrary so far. Do they consistently bring out stuff with more forgiving shirring? I could probably get as low as 77~78cm at the waist if I lose a few more kg, but my huge ribcage is always in the way. I basically can't wear dresses that don't stretch to 82cm at the waist.

>> No.9787981

>>9787222
It's not the shortest of their low waist skirts and the waist isn't particularly small. I'm only 5'7" but it's a good length for me when wearing it at my natural waist. The nice thing is you can wear it a little lower to get a bit of extra length. But this style of skirt is not really meant to reach your knees, so don't expect that, it is still a mini skirt.

Maybe you will get some inspiration from the thread and decide to go back? There are brands that make longer pieces, and also many things that look well on tall people, or can be adjusted for them (JSKs with straps on buttons).

I like that I can get a shirt with long sleeves, and it will allow me to wear any JSK or skirt, unlike worrying about OPs not fitting me there.
Instead of coat I have a cape and I love it. I don't know if I would be able to pull it off outside of lolita.

>general tall Jfashion in this thread?
I see nothing against that.
I have few pieces from MILK and ETC, but I don't think if I would risk getting anything with long sleeves. I often have trouble with that even for western brands.
The skirts, salopettes, and even OPs with short sleeves look quite good on me (for once being nearly flat helps me in something). Some can run short and show more leg, but I don't mind it at all.

What do you gulls use for hosiery? I’m 5’8 on the dot and calves are 40cm rn. I lost a bunch of weight running but... running... so my legs are just as big. I use normie tights when appropriate such as sheer black, black lacy, knit tights, sheer white. I really want to get some printed tights or socks because I live for fruit print trash and it looks so plain with plain tights. I was peeping AP drained cherry on LM but I figure if I don’t fit them, I may as well make my own design and order some. Dude, what if she was ordered to add calories due to treatment for an ED? Why don't you go work out instead of being a bitch?

they are just adapting to the weird attention they get for being tiny.

guys find as many cop outs as possible before getting comfortable in their own masculinity, so the small/tiny female does the work for them by comparison.
it's not hard to lift 90lbs, or look tall and hulkish next to someone who's 4'10" with narrow shoulders.

it's not the smol's fault this world is like this, heavily fetishizing different attributes.
I get weird comments from people for my tallness:
>don't worry, I like to climb trees
>more to love ;)))))))
>step on meh, anonny!!

the cutest thing I experienced recently was this guy telling me that he liked how he has to get up on tip toes to kiss me. the kicker was how he re-enacted it. 'twas adorable and really endearing, even if it didn't work out between us.

anyway, I love being a tall lolita. I feel even more like a duchess commanding all this space.
