Not true; I got my D.VA gun prop through (US) customs and it was the one with lights, wiring, laser, and functions as a battery pack. My SS told me that they were packaging it separately, filing the paperwork for it, but weren't responsible if it didn't make it through customs though. It was a risk that worked out.

If you're looking at gun replicas, trying to by from aliexpress is much easier and safer + higher rate of getting stuff through customs.

I have experience with both Ytaopal and Superbuy. SB is better if you don't need fluent English service and are just ordering general items without any custom measurements. Ytaopal is better if you are ordering items that you want to be very sure of the measurements of, for example I ordered a cosplay with them with specific detailed measurements and a request for a different length skirt and they were able to get it done without any issues. They're more expensive, but you get good service, good quality control photos, and fluent english in return. They're pretty much what you would expect for the price, cheap taobao boots. I'm only going to be using them for cosplay so I don't mind. Good sweater. Very comfortable and warm. Smelled a little funky at first but the smell came out. It's not going to fit like a sweater dress unless you're short though. The sleeves are also a tad short. I'm 5'6.5" for reference.

Took forever to come in but it's really nice. Very warm with a fur lining all the way through, not nearly as shiny as in the stock photos. The bow on the front is pre-tied and can be buttoned on to the cape, but there's regular ties to close it too. The one thing I'm not impressed with are the hooks to close it, they're on kind of weird and not so easy to hook closed.

This one I got for a Halloween coord and then it arrived mid Nov to early December, somewhere along there.

This one was the one I was least pleased with. It's one layer and pretty lightweight (in a bad way) even if the bodice and the waist ties are velvet material. I also couldn't find the zipper on this damn thing until time to take it off because it was so well hidden. It has pockets though!
This one was the shortest of the dresses and my pettis kept dropping out from under it which you can see in the pic.
The dress is just overall kinda cheap feeling which sucks because the print is adorable and I wanted another witch coord (especially with my collapsable hat, best 2-month wait ever for that thing).

Yeah, if you love the print maybe get it but to me it's basically what you think of when you think "Oh, it's a Taobao dress..."
This definitely could have benefited from what the Hospital dress did by adding a separate layer under it.

Taobao makes it a little tricky with the non-print ones because after a while some dresses become widespread generic that every shop has so no one calls it a replica or anything. While actual replica sellers are bold enough to put the print/dress name in their listings to get customers.

Your SS could have an address somewhere (contact page, footer). Then you check it up on Wikipedia to see in which province and prefecture it is, and how all are written using Chinese characters. On Taobao there's a shipping estimate right under the price, and you can select where it's supposed to ship to, to know the date.
For my order last week, two packages took 2~4 days to reach SS, but boots from Angelic Imprint arrived only today, after about 7~8 days. Kinda accurate, considering the page said they would take 7 days to come.

It's not too bad. It's a bit lighter than in the stock photo. I am going to make a few modifications to it such as making it more formfitting, switching out the braids for thicker ones, and adding interfacing to the hood so the weight of the ears doesn't make it flop, but those are more because I want to elevate it than those things being bad. The sleeves are well stuffed and have little invisible zippers inside so you don't end up limiting your hands, so that's nice. It does up with velcro in the front.
Tl;dr it's not the worst cosplay I've ordered off of taobao and it's not the best, but it was made quickly (in a week vs 3 months like the last cosplay I ordered) and only needs a few modifications.

Got a collar with leash, eye mask, two bondage ropes, set off wrist and ankle cuffs, some kind of spanking bat, and a gag ball.
Collar and cuffs are made of faux leather with faux fur on the inside. Both the fur and ropes are soft and really pleasant.
