lol. That's the wrong way to do lolita, if you need to buy a whole coord for each dress your wardrobe is going to end up very big, very expensive, and very useless. The correct way is to choose your colours so that each support piece can match at least 3 main pieces, that way you can swap things around and get more coords out of fewer pieces.

I have maybe 20 pairs of shoes and 50 main pieces in all 3 substyles, all different colors. If you are smart you don't need that many. Really you just need black in each right substyle, brown and cream (maybe wine and navy at most) if you wear classic, pink and red if you wear sweet, and that's pretty much it. I want to say that it's due to frustration with taobao, not being stuck up about it -- serious talk, I've bought taobao and almost all sweet pastel taobao releases simply have fucked up colours. Way oversaturated and they shoop their images to fuck and back. You think you're getting a nice sky blue dress but fuck no, it's eye-searingly bright, saturation turned up way too high, of course it matches nothing, because who the fuck makes a sky blue dress with this much saturation. Then get a new dress in, and fuck, that's also way too bright and matches nothing too, not even the first dress. I'm even a medium-tone Chinese and half of what I tried makes me look like a mud troll, they don't even at least bother to use colours that actually look good on chinese skintones but you figure their main clientele has to be mainland chinese lolitas, right? That's why I specified 2006-2013, that's before AP started trying out that same fucked up pink that taobao uses on everything sweet, the exception being that AP doesn't use it on everything, but taobao doesn't seem to have any other pink. Meanwhile I'm saying taobao pastel prints are on a whole different level of fucked. Oversaturated colours that make the skintone of their most major customer base look muddy should never even be the main colour of the dress in the first place, at least AP never makes that kind of mistake. That's not the kind of thing you can blame on screens, that's someone not even bothering to check what colours they're actually printing before opening orders and accepting money from clueless girls.

I don't play the lottery and I don't gamble, I do blind lucky packs from the brands I trust more than taobao. Not that anon, but why do so many people act like taobao in general is a brand? I'm the first person to agree that taobao has shit quality brands and shit quality dresses, but people act like taobao as a whole counts as one brand. To Alice repeatedly fucks up and oversaturates, but a friend of mine bought an Equinox dress that actually had really nice pastel shades. The quality was lackluster compared to brands, but the color was nice.

Also, most popular taobao dresses have loads of review photos that better show what the dress looks like. Of course, quality is still a gamble, but it's not as much of an issue as milanoo gambles if you do some extra research.

The construction is pretty nice. I mean the neck line looks good and the seams all are pressed nicely. The sleeves look too stiff because the fabric is questionable. The picnic cloth fabric for the ruffle and bodice part could have been maybe a solid and maybe darker brown with pintucks and lace to detail it. But it’s not eye wrenching.
