Why do so many girls buy cheap shoes they can't wear for more than 3 hours?

I've actually been searching for some nicer shoes lately that fit my j fashion wardrobe, but it's pissing me off. I can only find pleather shoes and I'm really in need of some boots after my pleather ones started cracking. Why is it so hard to find nice women's boots in leather that are cute? >2 cm heels
Besides people wearing flat tea parties, I've seen more people wearing 3-4 inch heels than 2 cm heels. Some people have less tolerance for heels than other, and there's more than one reason why people would want to change out. I can imagine girls wearing platforms might want to change out if they have weak ankles and the shoe is heavy, even if they're just sitting around. Changing into flats is perfectly acceptable; it's a little ridiculous to be clutching at your pearls over them.

I was complaining because of irl situations that happen at meets I've been to. I've had the pleasure to ask them personally why they are taking their shoes off. It's because they bought cheap, shitty shoes. Not all of them bring a replacement pair. >shoe style
Consider what kind of look you're going for: Is your coord very cute and Sweet? Look for typically cute design features like rounded toes, bows, scallops, thick heels or platforms. If your look is more mature, regular shaped toes are better, pointed toes are okay as long as your shoe is in an appropriate style like Victorian inspired boots for Classic. If you're wearing Gothic, you get bonus points for super tall heels. Pic related.

>color matching
If you're going for anything other than black, you basically have to cross your fingers and hope for a match. Unfortunately you can never be too sure when buying online.

Your shoes can match your main piece or an accent color, this is mostly based on personal tastes and coord decisions.

>contrast with socks?
Again, depends on what you're wearing and what look you're going for, though personally I hate it when the socks are darker than the shoes, it looks weird imo.

>navy dress
Doesn't tell me much, what style is this dress? If it's classic it can go with white easily enough, but you can also coord with brown, bordeaux, or even black if you make it look intentional. That's generally speaking though, a pic of this dress will help.

I suggest you spend some time looking at coords, you sound very new (not a bad thing, just an observation) and you will probably benefit from training your eye to recognize what girls with great coords choose as footwear.

>>9727484
That's a basic fashion "rule", it can work in lolita if you're really not sure what to do but it depends on what the rest of the coord looks like.

It's better to buy a few pairs of good shoes in neutral colors than a lot of cheap shoes in all the colors of the rainbow. The chance pink or navy shoes will match 100% is really small because it's different fabrics and different brands. Stick to cream, brown, black, grey, red and white.

Smaller feet are harder to find comfortable heels in because the angle at which your foot has to sit is more extreme than someone with bigger feet. That along with you having short toes (even less to balance on in front) and a tailor's bunion (probably from wearing too narrow shoes) will cause even more pain.

I'd say your best bet is to get a lower heel (under 2") made specifically for wide feet and put some gel insoles in them. I think that'd be something you could handle!

Thank you, that's very informative.
Pic related is the dress, and the boots I'm thinking about right now.
I picked them because I need something warmer for the coming colder months, because they are relatively simple to work outside lolita, too, but are cute enough for it, and to play it safe, as I'm buying shoes from the internet for the first time, and it's easier to offset too big shoe size with thicker socks.
The dominating white should coord well with white blouses and legwear, so even if the dark navy blue of the boots won't match with the dress, it won't stand out that much. I will also be able to use them with white dresses, I think. The bow is detachable, too, which makes them more versatile.
I'm indeed very new. Hopefully I will get better with time.

>>9727484
That's a fair point, I guess it's easier to pick a bag to a coord, than shoes, so these in turn can be matched to the bag, since they will usually use similar material.

>>9727923
I see, thank you. I will keep it in mind, once I get more comfortable with buying cuter shoes, and get some idea about what style I will enjoy wearing.

Anon, those boots are
1. Inspired by sailor designs, so they wouldn't work well with a qi dress at all.
2. Sadly not very cute. The bow and faux sailor "collar" are their only cute features, and they look like they were just slapped on some normie boots.
Please don't wear them with this dress. If you're aiming for versatility, the best I can suggest is to go for shoes in sax, assuming you want to wear Sweet in the future; while we're at it, I'd suggest a navy bolero or sax blouse instead of white... and I honestly wouldn't say this dress is a good choice for a beginner, sorry to say.

>>9733404
Yeah, I think that qi dress would be really challenging for a first coord, and difficult to make pieces you bought for it work in other coords. Qi is even more challenging to pull off than wa IMO. You don't need to feel like you have to include all the colours in your coord in your foot area. I'd suggest going for a more traditional pair of navy lolita shoes that you can use with more coords, something like pic related for An*Tai*Na or BtSSB's Antique Ribbon shoes in navy or white would work well for a lot of classic and sweet coords (I own both and they're comfortable too). If you prefer boots some low ankle boots could be suggestive of some traditional Chinese shoes without making the coord excessively costumey. I don't think you're going to be able to make heavy-duty winter boots work with that coord, just buy a separate cheap pair for outside lolita if need be.

What other substyles do you like? I suggest looking through Lacemarket to see if any pieces strike your fancy, you should be able to find some good deals and have less delay waiting for things to be manufactured and sent to your SS that way. If you have a second dress in mind it'll help to inform what colour shoes to buy, whether white or navy would work better with that dress.

Depends where you live. I often find after shipping that taobao shoes end up being as expensive as finding demonia ones on sale (chances are some goth shop somewhere has a sale) and from my experience Demonia and Pleaser heels hold up pretty well, after all Pleaser was originally more a stripper brand so girls would be dancing/walking in them for several hours every night.

These are cute and I wear mine every day but I got scolded by anons that they're too clunky/unfeminine for lolita coords. I agree though, they're not that delicate. Good for everything else though.

How about a pair of sturdy lace-up boots? Knee-high or ankle-high, they're often easy to find offbrand, and have room for orthotics. I got a pair with a 1" block heel in a normie store last year and I wear them a lot (gothic, oldschool, Victorianesque classic), and I had some with no heel for years in high school. Unfortunately lace-up boots are not as trendy as they were a couple of years ago but you should still be able to find some.

It depends on how you're wearing them.
For example, I have very slight "bow legs" (not noticeable when standing, but it fucks up my foot/ankle positioning and stride), and due to the excess strain that puts on certain points of my foot, I wear out the soles of my shoes in certain spots very quickly.
If you're having issues with the whole shoes, you might need to pay more attention to how you walk/move your feet. Chances are you're dragging your feet, clunking your shoes together, and/or hitting them on other objects.

plastic? water?
Pleather i use a magic eraser or generic melamine sponge.
Leather i use cleaning sprays and conditioning lotions. Im sure most places have options but we normally buy them from a dress shoe store.

A pair of cream Melissa ballet style flats had an unfortunate encounter with something black. Does anyone have advice for cleaning them? They're the matte style, if it makes any difference.

I wear gothic lolita.
I recently bought some Demonia's. pic related. Can't wear anything higher than that though.
My other shoes are normie mary janes one of them being from H&M And i can walk all day in them, so being cheap doesn't necessarily mean sore feet.

I've even tried Mr. Clean Magic Erasers, which usually works wonders.
If my shoes were ruined that easily, I'm never buying a pair of them again.

For this type of shoe I wouldn't go high end desu. I've seen similar pairs at Call it Spring and I'm sure Aldo has something as well. You could try Asos as well. $122 for these is too much imo!

Do you have an H-Mart near you? The one near me has several clothing, hmoe decor, and makeup stores in addition to the market, and the shoe stores ALWAYS have those kinds of sneakers in stock.

get leather and do what >>9752447 says. And get a leather treating kit (doc martins makes one that comes with shoe polish, weatherproofing wax, and shining rag for $20).

I adore clunky shoes with lolita. I wear sweet/classic and I'm trying to be a good rule follower and wear elegant shoes but my docs tempt me every single time I get dressed. I love the super round silhouette of them and I love how heavy and sturdy they feel on my feet. It's like a weight keeping all my frills down. Eventually I'm just gonna say fuck it and get some black incas. Heavy black shoes were huge in the old days!! I want that trend back!

Apologies for not exactly being related to lolita, but this is the only thread this fits.

Does anyone know where I can get these? I can’t find the hiking boots at all, except for the Shinji ones which are on Taobao, but I’d prefer the Asuka ones.

The bottom ones are out of stock on the official website. Anyone know any resellers or if they’ll restock?

Why is it so hard for you to understand that anon might want to buy those specific shoes? You don't tell every person who wants a pair of blue teaparties to just spray paint theirs, do you?

Is there any way to make a large pair of tea parties fit smaller feet? I accidentally ordered them way too big, and I love them lots but they're huge on me.

If they're small enough that they don't look like clown shoes on you, inserts should do the trick. I usually put a low insert in the sole and the back of the heel for shoes that are a bit too big. It should have the added benefit of making your shoes more comfortable, too.

Has anyone here had experience with the Yumetenbo heart heels? Are they easy to walk in? Any issues?
