Seconding the review anon I'm also curious if their LP's are better this year.

I got the RMS LP last year and was quite disappointed.
There were a lot of cheap plastic accessories and the 2 shirts I got were a white t-shirt and a black chiffon bandeau.
There were some nice things like the powder puff bag and the shoes but I don't think it was worth it.

Tempted to get an Axes Femme one but I've never gotten anything from them before so I'm not completely sure yet.

I've always wanted to get an AP lucky pack, but I must be stupid or something since I have no idea how to order them, and whenever I try to google it I just end up seeing reviews for packs rather than actual instructions/tips. Are any of you gulls able to give me some info? Since I'm definitely keeping money aside for if I like the items in this years pack.

I don't know, I got a liz lisa suitcase fuku two years ago and that wasn't worth it, I (luckily) sold everything but one cardigan and the suitcase itself. I also bought the $200 innocent world fuku one year, also wasn't worth it, I had a hard time selling everything and barely made it back. The individual stores do do their own events and lucky packs. You sound like you just find random shop news from anywhere and mix it all up into one giant mess. Always doublecheck to make sure where the announcement is from, and what shop it's for. AP-tokyo announcing lucky packs means the tokyo store will have them but not necessarily the online shop. For what it’s worth, AF/Amavel/fint are all slightly above fast fashion quality, and the LPs are lower quality than their standard fare. Bought LPs back in 2014/2015 and I always ended up selling it off after mulling about it for a while. If you have any experience with brand it’s pretty disappointing. I’m not gonna say their quality has gotten worse with time, it’s more like a vague dissatisfaction that’s become more pronounced the more pieces I’ve encountered.

The clothing for all aforementioned brands all photograph much better than they feel and look in person.

lol, most lolita brands are, especially if you aim for the special print sets -- most of them are half shirred, enough to accommodate fatty-chans. If you want wearable blouses Metamorphose will often have bigger lucky pack blouses than AP or Baby.

If you're bigger than chubby, EE always does fully shirred OPs, last year's lucky packs also had a fully shirred skirt as well. Good for mini landwhales if you half-shirred dresses from other brands are too small as well.

You need a forwarder like Tenso though, they don't ship outside Japan. Pay attention that one of the links is for paypal and the other is for payment through bank transfer within Japan. Last year they also did a second wave that shipped directly outside of Japan, if you aren't worried about missing out you can wait for that.

When it comes to the expensive lucky packs, it's best to try and be familiar with the past releases of the brand you're getting it from, anything they've released that may have been questionable quality or things that were unpopular. People sometimes forget what lucky packs are and just because it's more expensive doesn't mean it'll be really amazing items.

Thats not to say you always will get deadstock of an ugly item but lucky packs are what they are - ways for the brand to get rid of things that didn't sell, and I just mention all this because sometimes people splurge on the expensive ones and get disappointed when they get weird stuff. Like the other anon said, if you're super picky you might want to avoid it.

If you know what you may be getting yourself into, then I say go for it. I'm usually pretty easy to please with LPs but I avoid the more expensive ones because I'm worried about the value not being worth it if I get stuff that I don't like. And desu sometimes there's no telling with what you'll can't be able to sell and what you'll be stuck with. My friend and I both got meta LP's one year and we both got these ugly raschel lace bow barrettes (hers was lavender and mine was ivory). Dunno if maybe the colors had anything to do with it but I sold mine pretty easily for $12 while she was stuck with hers for so long I think she ended up just giving it to goodwill or something.

Yeah it depends. AP typically comes out with special set type lucky packs that have prints that were made for LP season (I think candy sprinkle was like that), then they will also come out with a few special sets that are new colorways and/or cuts of prints they've released in the past year (there's been sets like this of honey cake, toy march, and British bear to name a few). I believe they do have blind LPs but I can't recall if I've ever seen them do that on a regular basis. I feel as if I've seen AP Japan or AP USA do that once last year or the year before but I don't think I've seen them do blind/deadstock LP's on a regular basis, unless I'm just a moron and have never noticed.

Also just adding for all the newbs -- remember that beauty products can be quite heavy. A bottle of shampoo that's 60% off on rakuten will be quite pricey by the time you ship it to Tenso and then ship from Tenso to you. So make your choices carefully.

Honestly that's why I wouldn't suggest just popping in here asking "what's a random bag of things I can buy for cheap". Almost all the lucky packs are still expensive once the shipping is added in. Plus keep in mind that blind lucky packs are often leftovers that didn't sell during the sales, so you have a very high chance of getting stuff that other girls already deem too fugly to spend money on.

It always works out much better if you have already know what brand/what shop you really like, and you like even the terrible, bad stuff that they put out. Don't judge based on all the cutest selection you see on instagram, the prettiest things would have sold out long ago and never make it into lucky packs.

Their cheaper sets never came with the pannier, though. Usually they contained a jsk set+ blouse + bag, looks like they directly swapped out blouse and bag for the pannier.

What you're thinking of is the more expensive version -- usually AP will do a cheaper LP that's around the ~20k yen mark, and then a more expensive one that's around the ~30k+ yen mark. The bigger pack sometimes had panniers, recently they've been doing coats + more fancy jsk cuts rather than the pannier.

Given the previous two LPs didn't go that fast and even Wonder Toy sat around for a bit I'm not surprised if AP tries to change things up. I'm still wondering if they'll even do their usual bigger LP set, another solid set, and two special print sets, or maybe they're sticking to this small set and that's it.

Usually, yes. There's normally one around the 20-30k yen mark. And then the special print sets. Considering they seem to ship this out immediately I guess this might not even be for New Year's, could be a Christmas pack for Japanese shoppers.

The premium sets historically has had more and better stuff than the smaller packs (someone once received Rose Fragrant Memories in one), though it's all leftover stuff so I guess it doesn't matter.

You can use the keyword >>9710385 dropped to search taobao for them, just add another word like "ladies fashion" or "stationery", otherwise you end up with chinese omamori. You can also take solace in the fact that Tenso employees only receive packages, they don't make the order and have no idea what's in them. Tenso employees have no idea which is which, heck they don't even know that you ordered a lucky pack that will have 6-8 items and not a lucky pack that will have exactly those specific set of items (like special sets have a complete list of everything inside). Let alone which item they can take that won't be missed and which items will be obviously missed.

First up is one of the lucky packs they put together for black friday/cyber monday. It was the "Ribbon Bow Pastel Sweet" one, and I knew that it would contain 3 rings, 2 pairs of OTKs, and a hair clip, but not what the items would look like other than the colour and the brand.

The OTKs were both listed as used, with the ones on the right being described as not being in great shape. They're pretty stretched and there's a bit of discolouration on the feet, but the damage is not noticeable when worn. I'm probably going to sell the Cross Charm clip and the Melody Toys ring because they don't suit my wardrobe, but the rest of the items are great, especially for the $45 I paid!

Next is the candy lucky pack! I ordered a large pack, which is listed to contain 20 items, but it actually contained 25. This is the third time I've ordered a candy pack and they're always great.

I specified that I like fruity candy and marshmallows, and that I dislike dark chocolate and green tea. They followed my likes and dislikes perfectly! I got some things I've had before and loved as well as a bunch of new things that I'm excited to try.

Next is the beauty lucky pack! Again, I ordered a large pack, which contained more than the suggested 20 items. Almost all of the items are from Daiso, but the only Daiso in Canada is literally on the opposite end of the country from me, so I'm fine with that.

I was really surprised with the variety of cosmetics I received. They gave me a fuckload of eyeshadow palettes and pretty much all of the essentials needed to do a full face of makeup (foundation, BB cream, mascara, blush, eyeliner, lip gloss, etc). I also got some interesting tools - a brush cleaner/stand, a weird resin face massager, and a hair removal tool. The stuff that I've tested so far is nice, and I'm really pleased that the foundation and BB cream are perfect matches for my skintone.

I also got two face masks, one of which apparently contains placenta. So that's fun.

Last is the kawaii lucky pack! I'm splitting this in two parts - general stuff and stationary. Like the others, I ordered a large pack and got more than 20 items!

I'm super happy with this pack, mostly because I got not one, but pairs of socks/legwarmers. I actually already own the middle pair, but I'm a slut for fluffy legwarmers in fairy kei, so I'm thrilled.

I also got some cute rainbow shoelaces, a macaron-shaped bath bomb, a Hello Kitty soap dish, a Rilakkuma keychain, and the cutest fucking riceball forming tool ever.

In terms of stationary/craft things, I got a cute assortment of letter paper, memo pads, a My Melody 2018 calendar, a Cinamoroll notebook, some scented highlighters, some cute ass dessert themed patches, and some other miscellaneous cute shit.

Overall, I'm really pleased with the packs that I got! For $36 dollars each, the large-size packs are definitely worth it, especially since they're generally great at following your likes and dislikes!
