In my experience Wunderwelt overcharges on shipping and underestimates the wear/damage on a lot of their pieces. Stuff I got from them that were listed as "good condition" were in noticeably worse condition than "good condition" things I've gotten from other places.

I still use them though because they update the most/most consistently nowadays and they often have good shit.

When it comes to getting non-shitty bangs, I've found that you HAVE to explain to them EXACTLY how to cut the side fringe, specifying where it starts and where it should fall around your face. There's no way you're going to get a correct cut just by showing a picture. They see bangs, they cut what they think of as bangs, which are inevitably the crappy, wide kind.

You might also try going to salons that cater more to alternative styles/complicated dye jobs, as they're more likely to be staffed by people that are used to getting a lot of feedback.

Or go to an asian salon, like anons always suggest. If someone would like to describe how that worked out for them I would be very interested.

Sorry you got a bad cut though, anon. Lucky for you it's the season for wearing cute hats, amirite

The best solution for me was to cut my own bangs. Every hairdresser i've been to just couldn't get them straight. They would also never even try to listen when I explained about hime haircuts and would then just start doing their own thing because it would 'be much better for my face shape'. I've tried at least 6 different hair stylists before I said fuck it, if You're gonna give me Some crooked bullshit bangs for 50 eu I might as Well do it myself for Free at home. Hello gulls! I can finally start wearing Lolita after many years just admiring it from afar(and researching ofc), but I thought that if I wanted to go all out I would probably be overwhelmed by all the details(I'm more of a "the first jeans and hoodie that I find that don't look hideous together" gal),so I want to start swapping boring pieces of clothing for more kawaii everyday things, and work my way to full Lolita(not an everyday thing tho). Do your jeans and hoodies fit you well? Incorporating jfash is as simple as switching out a top or outer layer here and there, but if your normie basics are shambles jfash isn’t going to help fix that. People tend to look frumpy because they choose ill fitting items more than anything else.

I actually hate how hard it is to find well-fitting clothes in normie stores. If it's something like a flared skirt where only your waist measurement needs to fit then sure, it's fine, but anything more complicated and the fit's fucking all over the place. I had my hair done last by a girl at a fancy upscale salon a little more than a year ago. Although the dye job was great, she just didn't get the bangs right, even though I showed her the doc and we talked about it over coffee. Nowadays I just cut my own bangs with shears from Sally's. Sometimes I fuck up the length and give myself Tumblr bangs but they grow out in a week or two. Practice makes perfect I guess.

I agree that it's difficult to find items that are a good fit in normie stores, especially if you fall outside of the average ranges that S/M/L/XL are supposed to cover. However, this goes back to what >>9720431 said about a lot of lolitas not having a foundational understanding of fashion in general. Just because lolita provides more measurements doesn't mean that a given dress will look good on someone within those measurements because it'll depend on their proportions more than anything else. The fact that people expect to suddenly understand this with more complicated pieces like lolita dresses when they can't grasp this with absolute normie basics is why things turn out frumpy or poorly fitted.

It sold slowly from the webstore, but the secondhand prices aren't all that cheap, at one point I was able to find Milky Cross for 10k-15k yen but Mercator was still 20k yen and up (and getting snapped up at that price still) The dress is not exactly the easiest nor the commonest dress you can find secondhand, either.

I mean, it's not HL or Misty Sky or MCD level popular -- but then AP already did MTOs for all of those. I can see why they'd look at old Mercator selling consistently around the 20k+ yen mark and try to get in on the action.

I kind of want the green, but I'm not really feeling the blue x green colour scheme.

I always thought those pins in particular were so stupid because "brand whoring" actually has negative connotations; being unjustifiably stuck up to even well-made offbrand or any brands not approved of, whiteknighting a favorite brand constantly.
It has never meant "I love brand!" And it seems newer lolitas really don't get it. They see something kinda edgy in pin form and think it's cute.

Also any normies looking at those would think you legitimately sell yourself for clothes and are proud, which isn't too farfetched given the current sugarbaby boom in sex work.

Sumipe said she envies how Misako always looks so good because she herself doesn’t have time to put effort in her coords. This is why her hair is usually basic, petticoat it missing sometimes and over all she never wears lolita OTT. It’s understandable for a high-end seiyuu but western people wont find her as a lolita that interesting cause there’s no dreamy coords to goal over.

Also SJWs don’t like her Russia appropriation.

Dont know where to ask, but I'd really like to bid on something on LM however the seller seems possibly not interested in shipping overseas? No where does it outright say that however the price for overseas shipping is $0. Its probably HIGHLY likely i'm reading into this too far, but there's still part of me that's worried. I sent them a message a few days back and it hasn't been read, and the auction is ending soon.

Should i just bid anyway and assume she's okay with international shipping?

Has anyone here ever purchased one of Wunderwelt’s large item lots on Lace Market? I was wondering if they’re worth it after paying shipping because the listings always say the items are damaged. Is Wunderwelt’s standard of ‘damaged’ high or would it be a bunch of unwearable clothing?

Spoiler: they have a couple of amazing prints, corsets that look great but aren't functional, some solid sailor stuff, but most of all they have shapeless oversized sack dresses. Trust me, they are bigger than they look on the picture. I could fit my biggest petticoat under pic related.

WW’s standard for damage is lower than CC’s. It’s probably going to be damage or stains along the lines of the other pieces they’re selling on LM. I know a girl who bought a bunch of socks that way and they all either had pilling or discoloration around the toe area.
Personally I’ve only had good experience with buying from WW’s site directly but I’m hesitant about anything listed on their LM account.

I’ve never bought an item lot, but I’ve bought a meta OP for $35 and the damage was as described: some pilling, stretched elastic and a missing detachable bow. For me, it was worth it since all it took was new elastic and a razor to fix (I didn’t care about the bow), but I’m sure it’s up to your personal standards and skill at damage fixing.

I've bought from both their website and LM.
The items from the website are in better shape.
The ones on LM usually have a bit more stains/damages than they photograph, but most of them come out pretty easily with some care.

If you don't mind doing some restoration work or gambling, the LM is quite worth it.

Example : WW LM lists an item with flaws described as such "Overall signs of use, overall discoloration, stained."

What I got was a very wrinkled, largely stained, and had undisclosed damages (the neckties and corset lacing were cut off).

I just steamed the wrinkles out, gave it a good handwash with my preferred detergent, sewed on new neckties, and bought new ribbon for the corset lacing.

Was it worth it for a brand jsk US$45 shipped? You decide.

I got one of the Plus sized blouse packs and the “stains” just came off after sitting in a soak bucket for an hour. One had a tiny rip and there was once some mild discolouration, but other than that I got 4 perfectly usable blouses, a pin and a brand tote for the price of one new brand blouse (incl shipping). Very worth it.
>>9721703
Update: the waist tie has come out better than fine. I bought the dress secondhand and it had a strange “dark” layer to the print that made the dress look quite dingy and at first I thought it was a replica. But handwashing it, very little colour came out and it’s now the red I expected it to be.

Is it possible that it has been dry cleaned before, and this picked up some of the excess dye or something? So I can hand wash it safer now? I still plan for the first few times to wash it in segments to protect the print.

>> No.9722545

>>9722525
No, the person just placed a higher bid than you. It’s the same as ebay. If you bid $50 and the other bids $70, it will not go to $70 but it will go to $51. If the next person comes in and bids $60. It will go up until it reaches $61. Until there comes someone who is willing to pay $80 for it, then it goes up to $71.
It’s a system in which you will never know the max of your competitor, it should be a bit more convenient than just bidding each other up with $1 each time.

Well just to warn you, most auction sites are like that: Yahoo Auction, Ebay, MBok, etc.

I work with dyes and textiles-- you need a bottle of synthrapol. Joann's carries tiny overpriced bottles or you can order from Dharma Trading online. Get the "Dharma Textile Detergent" it's cheaper and more effective. Basically, it's a textile house detergent that is really good at removing loose dye particles. You may want to follow with a few drops of a nice leave in fabric softener-- stuff marketed for lingerie is perfect. I like Soak.

I'm glad wunderwelt lets me check out with amazon pay. With closetchild I have to re-input CC info every single time, and with maidenclothing it's even more complicated. As a rule, I don't buy from LM or individuals overseas, too risky. Legit businesses are more conscientious about checking for damage, more objective. On LM you sometime have individuals who think period stains, pit stains, and yellowed sock soles make an item "good as new", no thanks, not paying for your hoarder tendencies or other mental illnesses that make lack of hygiene seem a-okay.
