Moitie will forever be my favorite brand. I have a lot of items from them, but my favorite is probably this OP set I got earlier this year (this is the seller's pic). It's a two piece smock thing that goes over an OP and I found out it's a menswear set from 2001. It's just so incredible, there's very Victorian-styled detailing at the bottom and the shape and length are just gorgeous. Early Moitie is my absolute favorite.

I don't own as much Moitie as I'd like, sadly, and would love more of their gilets in particular. This is my favourite piece in my collection.

Thank you! That's very likely what it was based off of. I was able to find the name of it and it's "Monk OP", which made me think Gregorian Monk from how the sleeves are shaped.

I can't choose! I recently got my 50th Moitie item in the mail, and of those I've only ever considered selling a single dress because it's more classic looking than I prefer. Every other purchase has felt like an excelent life choice.

Yeah, it's not official. But it seems quite closely linked to Moitie. I sifted through their Twitter a bit, although I could only go up to 3rd Oct 2016.

In short, the account belongs to a group called "Moi Meme Moitie Lovers", though they also seem to be for "promotion of MMM", whatever that means. Account holder has posted some personal stuff, so definitely not an official account.

However, the current official account of MMM was only set up on 3rd Nov 2017 and this account has existed before that. So...How official is it?

The account holder has tagged official Twitters of Wunderwelt and Maiden Clothing in their tweets to thank them for their help, which would be rude if it was just fan-based. There's also the announcements of when the official shop will be on holiday and other discounts and promotions, which seem too official to be completely unofficial, especially since they included shipping dates. Moreover, they had a Q&A session a while back with a bunch of polls and the promise that "we will make sure the results will reach where they must reach", and I can't think why they would make that promise without some confidence that they can fulfill it.

They also referred to Mana as "boss" at one point of time. You could put it down to slang, but I'm skeptical, since they're in Japan and all. They also posted about the change of address for mail to Mana, but I'm not sure if this was posted elsewhere earlier.

The official Weibo was also established after their call for "partners in China".

There were also a lot of photos from the "Moitie Archive" which I couldn't find anywhere else by reverse image searching. It's possible these were photos from second hand sites which they saved as they went along, or they photographed their extensive Moitie wardrobe.

My conclusion: Definitely not official, but also not completely separated from Moitie. Perhaps something like an official fan club?

One last thing, the account has tweeted about Moitie items on sale on eBay and Lacemarket and I vaguely recall them mentioning the old Moitie database (I think it happened after someone posted the link on BtB)? So they're pretty aware of what the international community is doing. I wouldn't be surprised if they knew about our little thread here.

The official one is legit, it’s the one on their site and all that, I think it’s just something new because if the recent WW thing. Before moitie has little actual exposure to social media. The fb is new too as well, but also legit for the reason.

The other one is a Lolita, shares some sales and stuff from westerners. Because of that I don’t think it is someone close business wise, just s fan. Likely European since they had the biggest fans who collected a ton.

I have pic related which I fit with a 70 cm waist. But most Moitie skirts (including the ones in this exact same cut) are listed as 64 cm waist. Are those measurements incorrect or is mine just much bigger than normal?

From my experience their measurements are all over the place. I can fit most skirts from Moitie, but a lot are tight. Old skirts can be as small as 59cm for the waist and the new ones tend to all be around 70~72max. I say 68cm is a safer guess for their skirts.

I have these and they look nice; I can try and take some photos later. I don't have huge legs, but they're larger than brand model legs and I have muscly calves from running. I don't recommend the black ones, though, because the print is very hard to see on them.

Seconding the warning; I own the black ones and they fit fine (average weight, 174cm tall), but the print almost doesn't show.

By the way, Wunderwelt Fleur describes this issue as follows: "The print is not as visible on the black colorway, but it is recommended for its dark atmosphere and clearly showing the shape of your legs."
