For me being a lifestyle lolita means wearing the fashion when I can, as much as I can, and dressing cute as possible all other times. It also means engaging in hobbies like embroidery, having tea with friends, reading books in a quiet park. I also collect vintage embroidered handkerchiefs and teacups.

For movies I highly recommend My Fair Lady (I mentioned it last thread). Her dresses in that movie are just to die for. I also really love the BBC miniseries Lost in Austen. It's kind of Mary Sue in concept but still fun. I also really love the book "The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady", which was also made into a TV show. I prefer the book though, since it reproduces all of her diary down to the illustrations and her impeccable handwriting.

This is all going to be ranty so apologies in advance.

>what does being a lifestyle lolita mean to you personally
It's something I've become disconnected from in the last few years (really trying to get back to it), but it's taking enjoyment in life. It's taking time to do really fun and decadent (or faux-decadent) things. When I was starting in the fashion I used to make a point of having nice tea one morning a week, teapot, sugar cubes, the works. No tv, no distractions, just relaxation and reflection, and maybe breakfast. I'm not even sure that a lot of stuff is specific to Lolita, but anything that makes you slow down and find beauty and value in simple or odd things is Lolita. It isn't about "othering" or looking down on normal things or people, but about the magic in the unusual.
>lifestyle book/movie/music/media recommendations
Madame Bovary (book) is essential. I've never seen it brought up in this context but it's a fantastic book of the dangerous pursuit of hedonism and one I read twice through my early frilly days.
>what kind of lifestyle hobbies do you have
I read and embroider but that's about it. I really want to get more into sewing or simple crafts. There's something really magical about handmaking something for yourself or others.
>what substyle of lolita do you wear most often (mostly because I'm curious to see the breakdown)
Gothic, traditional/oldschool, punk.
>any good lifestyle blogs or resources
I know it's cliché but Princess Portal was my shit. A lot of it was OTT but a fair chunk of it was realistic and about sprinkling your life with wonder. There are a lot of cute memories on egl still.
>is there anyone we could consider to be a lifestyler icon? (other than Takemoto perhaps?)
Anyone who wears the fashion unconventionally. Nana Kitade was my idol.

Wearing lolita as often as I can.

>lifestyle book/movie/music/media recommendations
I really love Agatha Christie and discovered lolita through a "Jane Marple" google search that went wrong. So I recommend her books and also the TV series. Both Ms. Marple and Poirot series are set in a charming era of fashion; you'll come for the costumes and stay for the mistery.

>what kind of lifestyle hobbies do you have
I like reading books, playing the piano and making accessories and such from flowers. I guess thrifting counts as a hobby too?

>what substyle of lolita do you wear most often (mostly because I'm curious to see the breakdown)
Classic and sweet

>any good lifestyle blogs or resources

Does anyone have any ideas for how to store a large teacup & saucer collection?

I collect Royal Albert, mostly antique but some modern, and my collection is about 30+ sets currently. The problem is that I really want to be able to display the cups and saucers together, so something like pic related wouldn't work. I used to use something like it, and then just keep all the saucers stacked nearby, but then it was a huge pain to try to find the saucers when I wanted to use them, and as a result I ended up almost never actually using my beloved cups.

>what does being a lifestyle lolita mean to you personally
I'm not a lifestyle lolita at the moment, but I would love to become one someday. For me at least, it means wearing lolita as often as you can, and partaking in hobbies that fit the aesthetic of the fashion.

>lifestyle book/movie/music/media recommendations
I'll just share my music tastes cause they're related to lolita (in some way). I listen to tons of j-pop daily and, ocasionally, visual kei stuff. I also watch cutesy mahou shojo and shojo anime in general. Bonus if one of the characters are a lolita or wear lolita inspired stuff.

>what kind of lifestyle hobbies do you have
I like to sew, create cute jewelry and accessories, play cute video games and watch cute shows (or spooky ones too, to fit my gothic side), collect toys and figurines, and I think that's about it. I also enjoy tea and baking cookies too.

>what substyle of lolita do you wear most often (mostly because I'm curious to see the breakdown)
I wear sweet (like sugary pastel vomit sweet) and gothic. I also really like old school (both sweet and gothic)

>any good lifestyle blogs or resources
Not really, I do like watching you tubers that fit my lifestyle aesthetic (like Princess Peachie, or Lilith who had the gothic lolita aesthetic down), but that's about it.

>is there anyone we could consider to be a lifestyler icon? (other than Takemoto perhaps?)
Cant think of any at the moment

I noticed most of you are classic and are interested in a classic, ladylike lifestyle, but it would be nice to see more sugary sweet, "kawaii" lifestyle stuff here!! (Like decoden, magical girl and Sanrio/san-x aesthetics, etc.)

I love the aesthetic of tiny houses, but I don't think I could be comfortable in one long term. My dream is to own a small house; I currently rent a duplex apartment that's about 850 soft and I don't really use my second bedroom or the dining room often; I know I could be happier with less space.

There's small craftsman cottages and shotgun houses in my town. I'd love to live in one of them. Some shotgun houses are even on the same tax ID so I may be able to live in one and rent the others. Only thing is most of the shotgun houses are very rundown (not like pic) and I don't yet have the money to purchase property and renovate it.

Ugh, same. I don't want to deal with having so much room to maintain and repair, and heat, plus I've grown accustomed to living quite minimally. I'm kind of a hippie at heart. I know that realistically, I don't need all that space plus some, but I want enough space to have a room dedicated all things cute and lolita (closet and cute shit in general) and space to entertain (I always entertain the idea of having a private fancy meetup, but I'm too introverted to deal with it irl), which would include a kitchen and flower garden.

I also don't want to be tied down to one house because I like to and want to travel a lot.

I wish I was some rich entertainer/trust fund baby, jfc.

Wearing Lolita to school? Long time Lolita, never worn to school though. Should I just go for it?

>> No.9631514

I'd say it depends on what the pieces are, what color they are, how easy they are to clean, and how physically comfortable you think you would be wearing it for a school day. Simple pieces (no print, minimal amount of lace and ruffles) in dark colors are typically the easiest to wear in these settings, I'd also suggest that you forgo the wig if you usually wear one, and your petticoat as well, or swap it out for one with minimal poof.
You can't predict how your teachers and classmates will react but at the very least you can make sure you're wearing something cute that won't get in the way of your day.

I think if you're in high school or younger (which you shouldn't be if you're on this board, ik but just as a general rule) I'd say don't. If you're in college, go for it, generally nobody will care.

I say this mostly because I started wearing lolita in middle school and have always been a lifestyler, and was bullied pretty relentlessly for it (among other things).

I will never forget a specific day in 8th grade when I was wearing lolita - long-sleeved blouse and tights, literally the only skin showing was my neck, face and hands, and a girl called me a "wannabe Japanese whore". I also got called "slut" all the time when I wore lolita.

Other anons are talking about bullying so I'll offer some more insight.

I never wore lolita to high school, but I did wear himekaji/generic kawaii taobao shit. My teachers never thought worse of me, but that's because they already knew I was a hard worker. Personally I'd only start wearing lolita after establishing yourself as a good student, but I would definitely go for it.
Now, I would never wear lolita to class because I'm studying in a field (and school) where my peers and I are in suits half the time for interviews, certain events, presentations, etc. If you're studying something less rigid on dress code I would wear it, but if it's something more strict I'd be more wary.
I do wear jfash to my art class though, but not lolita or anything expensive because I don't want to get paint on my brand. I change into lolita when I get home, and wear it on days I don't have class.

I feel like you kind of have an exceptional experience in terms of bullying, but I really don't think even the majority of the people who are bullied are bullied for their personalities or hygiene. Most of my friends were bullied in middle and high school, and honestly most of the time it was for tiny, ridiculous things - one person got cheated on and was bullied by a bunch of upperclassmen; one of them was bullied daily for "reading too much", I was bullied for studying and being a "tryhard".

Although that being said, I moved around a lot and was constantly the "new kid", so that's probably part of it, in addition to dressing alternatively.

I realised my questions has more of a chance getting answered here.

Does anyone wear sweet lolita to work?
I see casual ALL THE TIME so I'm asking specifically about SWEET. My work has a very casual dress code but I feel like if I turned up in an AP print they might suddenly need to re-clarify what's considered as "casual".

I've worn jsk's with cardigans over them and printed tights etc. before to work and even a tardis dress and a wonder woman print but they were all still muted colours like navy, white, brown and black. Pink, yellow, purple I worry about attracting too much attention despite being the same clothing styles.

I feel like to distract from the pastel overload you would need to coord it with a more neutral color like black or brown to make it more wearable at work. All my normie coworkers were into the elaborate border prints, so if you make the top simple and put the focus on your skirt area it can work

That's not a bad idea actually. I'm a bit out of touch with facebook, how does the groups there work exactly? Do I need to have friends in the group to get in, and will it be posted publicly on my page if I post things in the group?

>> No.9635086

>>9635034
Use facebook's search function and just type in embroidery or more specific keywords (cross stitch etc) and groups and pages will pop up.

I recommend only joining closed groups, where only members can see posts, but members lists are public info (so all your cousins and coworkers may see you've joined).

Public groups are open for anyone to comment in so they get a lot of spammers. They'll also potentially show up on your feed and your friends' feeds if you post in one as they're public.

There are also secret groups but you'll probably not be invited to any without first knowing someone else in the group -- they won't even pop up on your searches.

Once you join one or two facebook will also suggest similar groups. The best thing to do is join a few and see how you like them after a week or so. It's all trial and error and every group has a different feel to it. I'd also suggest to feel free to unfollow a group (if it begins to annoy you on your main feed) without leaving the group if you're interested in it otherwise. You can then go visit it at your leisure by clicking on your groups tab without being bombarded by hobby stuff every time you visit facebook.

Same!
I draw inspiration from a lot of things. I've recently made use of my dead Pinterest account to put a bunch of lolita lifestyle inspo, things like

>shabby chic decor & house hold products
but I also have some typical kawaii and goth inspo too - idk if it's just me, but in spite of having an inner goth, a lot of examples are so...tacky, imo.

>screenshots from my favorite historical fiction films

The Secret Garden, A Little Princess, some Ghibli film scenes, Marie Antoinette, etc.

>Beatrix Potter illustrations
>French pastries
>kawaii makeup products
>wild English styled gardens
>afternoon tea ideas, recipes, and services
>countryside manors
>brand shop interiors

I'm going to have to add some vintage shoujo manga.

I really could be using my tumblr, but I'm kinda lazy about it. Idk, maybe I don't like the format for this kind of "mood board" thing I'm going for.

Really bummed out that it's the Halloween season because I like looking at the decorations, but I can't be arsed to buy them. My room currently has a clean kawaii aesthetic, and I don't any more junk since I'd only be moving again.

I wear Jfashion to work regularly, and prefer sweet personally.

worry less about colors and more about if the look itself makes you look immature. consider the themes of your prints, and look into cutes that are cute but still mature looking. solids or generic prints like dots or stripes are ideal.consider leaning more retro/vintage sweet for work wear as it looks like you are just stylish and into old clothes.

favor hats, headbands and small barrettes over bows, tights over socks, etc. Normie shoes are best, skirts are easier than dresses, keep tops simple and minimize ruffles, and a jacket or cardigan will help tone down and mature most outfits.

brands like ETC or even Ank Rouge and other Himekaji brands work nicely (be sure the himekaji is not too "sexy")

It depends on how comfortable you are with stitching. Embroidering your initials on handkerchiefs is an easy way to get started, at least if you are like me and have a bunch of handkerchiefs laying around anyways.

Then I'd suggest moving on to patterns. You can get fabrics with the pattern already printed on, either by itself or as a kit with threads and all. If you need some help figuring out which stitches you can or want to use you can just ask.

Is it difficult to hand-embroider something that's worn or used regularly and keep it looking good? I've asked my local handicrafts store for help on embroidering clothing pieces in a durable way but they said I'll either end up with a tangle of ugly knots on the wrong side and something I can't wash, or I should do machine embroidery instead. I've only ever done decorative embroidery so I'm also looking forward to others' replies, but honestly if the shopkeepers were saying you'd have ugly knots I have to wonder how skilled they are. There shouldn't ever be tangles of ugly knots on the wrong side of your work. I'm leaning towards thinking hand embroidery done well would be perfectly fine for clothes-- it's what people used for centuries before sewing and embroidery machines! Also, consider handkerchiefs: there is no way that people weren't regularly washimg those.

I just now remembered that I grew up using hand embroidered pillow cases sewn long before I was born. They were washed weekly and the only reason I stopped using them after years of use was because I was tired of them! They were worn, but the embroidery still looked great-- it was only that these were 15+ year old pillow cases that saw a lot of use.

It's not difficult at all and if you use good thread and proper stitching it can be more durable than the ground fabric you are working on.

The only time where you will see any crap on the backside is if it's a lazy stitcher who carries threads all over the place instead of ending and starting a new thread, or someone who doesn't know how to end a thread properly. It can also turn out a bit messy if you're doing needle painting/silk shading.

For reference you can see my picture with the backsides of one hanky that's had a lot of snot on it and been washed thoroughly over and over, two dishcloths I got from my grandmother that are quite old and a test patch for thread painting.

Just take a bit of care of the backside and it's perfectly usable for clothes.

My neighbor let me cut some lavender from her garden and I'm so excited to give baking with lavender a go.

I want to bake a Lavender-Lemon-Earl Grey Tea cake, and I'm pretty nervous because I'm a novice when it comes to baking with dried/fresh flowers (It's so hard to find organically grown flowers to use in cooking) and I've got a week to get it right in time for a meetup. Wish me luck, gulls. I'll try to update with my results /ck/ style.

Thanks! So far I'm drying the lavender. I'll gather some missing ingredients once I've picked out a recipe. There are too many of them on the internet and some are more complicated than necessary.

Honestly I'm debating on whether or not I should use Earl Grey Tea or not. I don't know if it'll be over kill and I dislike Earl Grey enough to not want a bunch of unused tea bags. I do, however, love the smell of oranges and lavender together. Maybe I'll just use my mandarin peels for a sachet.

You probably hear it a dozen times but please be careful of your kitchen wares from China. Anything metal or microwaveable, and anything painted, could possibly pose a risk- the odds aren't too against you but avoid especially things like pots and pans, which are heated and may be questionable material without a solid confirmation.

Anyway, I always look for "kawaii" home goods like cups and then pick stores that match the idea I have. They usually have tonnes of shit. In the West, antique consolidation and flea markets are really good for reasonable prices compared to antique stores. Additionally, brand Lolita often puts out kitchen ware and you can order it direct or via LM

I lied, it serves 8 as a cake. Whatever.

(Cup) cake ingredients:

>1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar
>3/4 tsp of edible dried lavender
>1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
>1/2 tsp baking powder
>1/2 teaspoon baking soda
>1/4 teaspoon salt
>2 large eggs, lightly beaten
>1 cup of milk
>1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted

>Finely grated zest of 1 unwaxed lemon + 1 tablespoon lemon juice

If you're extra
>Confectioners' sugar, to dust
>Sprigs of fresh lavender, to serve (optional)

For frosting
>3 cups of powdered sugar
>8 oz (1 package) of cream cheese
>1/2 cup of unsalted butter, room temp/softened

1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

4) Heat milk til near boil. Steep tea for 2 -5 mins.

I heated it up for 2 mins. You know your microwave settings better than me.

I recommend not being a dummy and doing this ahead of time and letting it cool after steeping because putting the milk in while it's hot will "cook" the dry ingredients.

5) Add wet ingredients. Stir & fold until ribbon-like consistency. It will look very liquid-y and that's ok. Do not over-mix.

Final step: Taste test the ugliest/smallest one.

It should have a semi-sweet & delicate taste of bergamot & lemon. I've found that the lavender notes come after. If you want it more moist, use a half cup of greek or plain yogurt and a half a cup of earl grey tea milk.

Be sure you're using culinary grade lavender when you're making this. From what I heard, cosmetic grade does make the baked goods taste soapy. Picking and drying organically grown lavender is best/easiest imo.

The key tips I have for are as follows:
>wear a very full apron, as flour gets messy
>slice apples into 4ths, and then again into 4th, for ideally sized apples slices
>DRAIN THOSE FUCKING APPLES
>paper thin apples will burn and thick apples will be mushy- you want apples about 1/8 - 1/4 inch thick, leaning towards 1/4
>KEEP YOUR BUTTER AND UTENSILS AS COLD AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE
>do not over-agitate the dough
>pic attached for the perfect lattice crust folding technique
>be sure to have cold hands and handle the crust as little as possible
>once it's all assembled, keep your oven light on, make sure it doesn't get too brown but DO NOT open the oven
>monitor, seriously, oven times and cooking temperatures vary
>your first pie may be a flop, 350-375F is the recommended temperature but shit varies so don't be upset if it's under or overcooked- just try again

>if it comes out perfect, serve that shit with some vanilla ice cream and enjoy

I’m gonna be real with you:
I’m not a professional, basically I just find a design I like and wing it with a pattern, I know McCall and Simplicity both have costume patterns for historical nightgowns, though.
I like using linen fabrics or even old bedsheets with pretty floral designs so it’s extra comfy. I get a lot of joy from thrifting antique shops/consignment shops and finding ‘vintage’ fabric to use.
Pattern making is actually a lot easier than people make it out to be, and once you get past the learning curve being able to make whatever the fuck you want is like a superpower. Advice for that: just use wrapping paper from the dollar store, they usually have brown paper bag paper and that’s cheap as hell and easy to get. Also, to get started with pattern making just start drafting, practice by duplicating a simple piece in your wardrobe and go from there. Annika Victoria has a great little video about replicating a dress she owns that helped me get started, also highly HIGHLY recommend Professor Pincushion for any ‘how do I do this?’ questions.

I have some anise hyssop (Agastache foeniculum, not anise) growing in my backyard meadow and I love it. It's in the mint family and the leaves are edible and taste like licorice, but juicier and with no sugar aftertaste. You can also make delicious tea with it. Not sure how commercially available it is since it's native to my area and moved in by itself, but I highly recommend. Bees and beetles love it too.

I also love making tea with wintergreen leaves, but since I harvest them from the woods I don't know how viable they are in a garden setting. A shady, somewhat moist site should work, especially under deciduous trees.

I've managed to find a tea strainer from a local kitchen/gift shop , but you can also find them online (so they don't have to be vintage). The English Tea store sells them online for about $5 each.

A lot of lifestyle lolita stuff comes off as really "girly". I dress ouji and I like to bake and cook and the like, but things like embroidery or knitting and things like that just feel a bit feminine?

If you liked the movie, read the book! The movie is fine for what it is, but oh that book... it's reads like a 19th century memoir but written in modern language. It's a gorgeous, lush book that delves into the chaotic final days of a crumbling court combined with the nostalgic wistfulness of a woman in old age looking back on a youth that is gone forever. Marie Antoinette in the book is also much less of a bitch, which makes one of the basic tenants in the story--that Sidonie's entire life revolves around her, and that she's willing to do something dangerous for her--a lot more understandable. Also Sidonie and the queen are roughly the same age in the book, so the dynamic is different.

The only time I'd say it's bothersome is if you get the idea to sating stitch or use similar approaches just because of the ridiculous amount of stitches you have to make, it's what I did in the one I posted.

Yep, the Converse are intentional! Okay I know they say this but I am skeptical, even though I bought the bit about the Converse. I've seen too many movies where they just know better and still throw historical/cultural accuracy out the window simply because they just want everything to look more attractive to modern moviegoers.

>Why didn't they just have a teenager act then? I don't get it.

Oh, sorry, I didn't clarify very well. By "emphasize her role as a "teenage girl" for a good chunk of the running time" I don't mean that they were literally trying to disguise the actress's age, but that they were using modern aesthetic nods, contemporary music and tweaked 18th century fashions to help humanize Marie Antoinette in a way that would let modern audiences connect with her as a real person and, for most of the movie, as a eenager and young 20-something.

>>9679033
There are probably better quotes out there but here are some from the press book I have on hand:

The music supervisor for the film:

>[With the eclectic soundtrack] it's a lot easier to put yourself in the movie. The music resonates because it shows how these people really were. For most of the movie, Marie Antoinette is an adolescent and it would have been a lot harder to get across her teen angst with a "Masterpiece Theater" type of soundtrack.

Costume designer:

>Sofia didn't want the film to have the expected look of the period. This is not a classic vision of Marie Antoinette but Sofia's personal vision of her. The film is a very modern look at her inner experience and therefore the clothes had to respect that kind of language. We took the essence of how things were and stylized them. We wanted more warmth and humanity to come through, so the clothes had to have at the same time a kind of richness and simplicity. ... You can say we were very influenced by the period but we don't present a classic vision. It's more of a fashion statement. At times, it was very rock and roll.

So Converse were intentional..... but they weren't there because it was a deliberate decision by Sofia Coppola to bring Marie Antoinette closer to modern audiences or highlight her being a teenager. They were in the shot because Roman Coppola, her brother, filmed a ton of sequences for the "I Want Candy" shopping montage and--to quote Sofia--put a shot with the shoes in there "for fun."

From a 2006 interview

>IGN: Why did Roman include a pair of Converse tennis shoes in the "I Want Candy" sequence?

>Coppola: Why was that? Yeah, he shot the whole "I Want Candy" montage and he just saw that there and put it in for me for fun. He just shot a bunch of stuff and left that in for fun because he thought I would like it, and then when I was editing we decided to leave it in.

Looks like thread painting embroidery to me (also known as silk shading, or long and short stitch embroidery). You're probably best getting a book on the subject if you're serious about it - Search Press Classics has published "A-Z of Thread Painting", which I don't have, but have found other books in the series helpful. idk i think it might be easier to be lifestyle in a tiny space, less clothes means more quality and more concious buying, plus hobbies and activities are kinda forced outside, so more picnics and cute libraries etc.

Skull candy might have some cute stuff, but nothing that has good sound. vmodas are pretty nice looking and have good sound, but certainly wouldnt match with most outfits and aren't really stylish i think.

I'm honestly not sure how I'll be decorating with these. At first I thought to collect darker florals to go in my dining room to suit my 1970s aesthetic, but I do generally prefer the lighter cheery florals, too.

>pic related is a darker piece I'm not sure of anymore

I've come across all of these recently so I may just keep an eye out for right now and see what more I can find before I put holes in the walls.

I was planning on just mending >>9678620 so the hole doesn't grow worse, but applique may help! The lady I bought it from said some of her customers take such pieces and cut the edging? collar? out and attach a new piece of linen or lace on the inside. I may experiment with that down the line.

Feel free to shoot me an email anons! Anyone who is interested in lifestyler things (lolita or otherwise) is welcome to contact me and see about setting something up. Even if you don't want to reply, I'd still love to send people letters. Maybe this doesn't make sense, but I want to do this just because I feel like sharing cute things with others. I'm not expecting anything in return really. The mental image of someone opening up a letter and getting warm fuzzy lifestyler feels is enough for me.

If you're looking for monogram ideas, you can look at different fonts on dafont dot com. They're pretty easy if you use a back stitch.

>Back stitch
I'd rather go for a different stitch personally. Stem stitch, which can also be whipped if wanted, is about as easy and looks a bit smoother. There are chain stitches too for a thicker look, I like the heavy chain stitch myself.

>> No.9692357

>>9692342
How do you deal with the stem stitch getting wonky around curves? Am I just making my stitches too big? I like how clean the back stitch is, even if it is simple.

>> No.9692446

>>9692297
Thanks for the resource! I'll be sure to check it out.

>> No.9692474

>>9692357
If you have a picture that might help, but as you said just shorten the stitches when you have a tighter curve, the same way you'd need to do with back stitches. If it's a really tight curve you make tiny stitches unless you reach a point where the stitches can't be any smaller on your fabric. And don't be afraid of backing a couple of stitches extra when it doesn't turn out quite right.

I'm not very fond of the back stitch because it doesn't give me a line that is as continuous and there isn't really any texture to it. But I like to overcomplicate everything I do.

I used the stem stitch for the leaf outlines and I'm not totally happy with it. It could just be my lack of experience. I'm starting to appreciate the humble back stitch more, because it works so well for tight lines. Design is from Cozy Blue Handmade. She has all the cuteness.

Has anyone else attempted the chain stitches that this person does for filling? https://www.instagram.com/p/BbP1J3Hgm71/

Mine came out really weird--somehow the entry point, where you're supposed to go back down right next to it to make the loop, ends up being in the middle of the previous stitch instead of at the end of the newly created chain stitch.

I'm a beginner at embroidery but I've had no problem with back stitches, stem stitch, split stitch. This one... just eludes me. Maybe I'll just try super small split stitches for fills.

I can see that you have some trouble with it. First, try to go up through the same hole your previous stitch went down in so you don't have any gaps, secondly as we talked about the stitch length needs to be a bit shorter in the curves.

I stitched up a quick little swirl to show you how it turns out when I do it. I used two strands on the one to the right and one strand to the left. If you end up seeing you it doesn't work out at times, just back up a few stitches extra to shorten the stitches and adjust your angle a little earlier.

I don't have any experience with these fillings unfortunately, but I really like the embroidery you posted.

How would everyone feel about a lifestyle lolita facebook group?

I hosted a panel on lifestyle lolita and Rufflecon and suggested the idea, and there was definitely some interest.

I wanted to post in Rufflechat asking for name suggestions, but the mod I messaged for permission never got back to me (it's been two and a half days haha. I should just message another mod, I think)

But, yes, are you interested? Name suggestions? I almost wanted to do something with "quaintrelle", like the old livejournal group, but I think I want something fresh.

I'd prefer a Discord, honestly, to Facebook. I sent an email to Miss Letter Lifestyler mentioning the possibility of a Discord, actually, but I don't know if that's a platform others would be interested in, or if everyone else just prefers Facebook. I'm just- personally- not a huge fan of Facebook.

I agree to this, I prefer to keep anything 4chan related away from facebook.

A new thread would be enough though in my opinion.
