I haven't bought shoes from them, but in my experience they're more diligent about checking for damages than Wunderwelt. Maybe it was just a coincidence though, but I've always always been relieved by what came out of closetchild packages (always less damage than I expected from the description), while with Wunderwelt it was more like "meh, as described I guess". I've bought a skirt and a vest in C condition closetchild said had damage because of pilling, but it's barely even there, and I normally hate pilling and go after it obsessively with a razor.

Bought an atelier boz petti from wunderwelt that they described of having minor damage, but the waist is stretched out and I can't wear it without taking the waistband apart and adjusting the elastic.

Kelly seemed a bit thick here, she acknowledges she made a mistake but is so entitled- she doesn't seem to understand everywhere is not like America where you can bring things back no matter what. All I can think about is if this will make it harder for foreigners trying to shop in AP/Laforet, if she's given the impression we don't understand how to read numbers and will expect company policy to be bent due to the 'but I'm a foreigner' argument.

I hope she gets blacklisted from AP after that. Why the fuck would it be $148? She was really lucky to get a refund. Also she seriously expected the shopgirls to be nice to her after returning a $1500 dress because she missed a zero on the end? Those girls likely work for commission, of course they'd be pissed, especially when they aren't obliged to let you return stuff. And then she went on to imply that AP was doing badly and thats why the girls were rude. No, they were rude because you were acting like an entitled dumbass. Lolita is a niche fashion and they only make a certain amount of those dresses. Any half decent person trying to get into lolita would do their research and know that nothing from AP costs $148. It's the black Rose Toilette skirt. The paint is black, and the whole skirt (including the print) is really unsalvageable. She was painting a bedside table for her new house and managed to knock the whole can onto her lap, and when she tried to wash it out she just spread a lot of it and made the problem worse. It's hard to patch or make bows when the stain is affecting quite that much of the cloth. My friend was going to throw it away, but I want to see if I can at least salvage it for casual wear.

Plus, on the embroidery... I love the idea, but I haven't done embroidery since I was a teenager, and even then, I sucked at it. Sadly, I am not Momoko.

I'm sorry if this isnt the right place to ask but I figured it would be better than making my own thread but was wondering if you ladies could help.

My GF has been very interested in Lolita lately and I figured I could try and get something together for her in time for Christmas or even her Birthday (late Jan.) I looked though that guidebook linked at the beginning but it didn't really help that much, especially since I think my GF's style would be more "Aristo" (She really wants an Imperial Russian coord) but don't really know where to start looking or whats a good brand vs meme brand. I was looking at Juliette et Justine as it has a lot of stuff I think she'd love. Is it a good brand? (especially pic related) whats the wait time like and are they easy to buy from? She's 177cm so I'd assume I'd need to get a slightly longer petticoat to account for those extra cm's? I also have to somehow get her measurements to make sure the bodice, sleeves and shoulders all measure up

Are there any well known brands for doing nice lolita outerwear? I'd love to get her a fur trimmed coat so she can get some cute Russian winter accessories like a muff and ushanka. (Or maybe low key Kokoshnik, I may know someone I could do a custom order through for that hopefully)

Their Maetel collab piece had it's reservation end recently, but maybe they'll have some online stock when it comes out. You can get their stuff through Wunderwelt Fleur, and even if they don't carry it online just contact them asking if they can get it from Sheglit's store for you (providing it's in stock). I've done that before and they're super quick to reply, native english, and more than happy to get you anything from them. Otherwise I'd look at Closet Child and Wunderwelt for used items, they're sure to be unloading their winter stock now/soon for people to buy. Looking around I don't see many other stores with new items currently in stock with fur.

JetJ's Made To Order has a wait time of around half year, but their ready stock usually only takes a few weeks to ship out. Just make sure the page you're buying from doesn't say stuff like "you will receive this dress after March 2018" if you don't want to wait half a year.

Other notable thing is that JetJ does accept some limited alterations if you're willing to pay for it. Most Japanese brands are made for girls around 160cm in height, so the waists of dresses often sit a bit too high. You can write in to Jetj and see if they can make an alteration for bodice length +5cm, move the bust dart down by 2.5cm, or whatever. I've had bust increases done on ready stock and they accepted it, so they should be able to do a bodice length increase on ready stock as well, provided their fabric/design/print allows it. They're easy to order from, the staff speaks English. But if you're requesting alterations make sure you send in an email and ask if they can actually do it or not first, as certain designs or the way the fabric is printed means it can't be done at all.

You can also take a second look at Innocent World. About half their dresses actually come in longer lengths (100+cm). They have a fair amount of solids and floral prints in between the twee sweet stuff that work better for Aristo, though no crazy prints like JetJ. As a bonus, the longer dresses are usually already longer in the bodice, and if you go for the shirred dresses (usually jsks are shirred) then you don't need to be so precise with the measurements as the shirring provides quite a bit of range.

There's a couple of other brands that Aristo girls like, namely Excentrique and Moi Meme Moitie (you want their EGA section), but I think neither goes well with the Imperial Russian image. Just adding a couple more brands you might want to look at, I suppose.

Right, you mention 'Aristo', technically, Aristocrat is a different style. Aristocrat does not equal lolita with tea length hems, such as what JetJ puts out.

If you're wanting that Imperial Russian look, JetJ is a very good bet, or even some IW longer length pieces, which fit a range of styles.

If you're wanting the gothic Aristocrat look, Moi Meme Moitie or Atelier Boz are the way to go.

These socks sound horrible, why would you recommend them? AP has lots of styles that will stretch over the calf, and actually be OTKs/thigh highs on someone your size or bigger. You can machine wash most AP socks as well, so that isn't really an issue.

If you don't particularly care which coat and are fine with leftovers, yes, wait for sales/lucky packs or go to closet child and get a random coat.

This is so disappointing with KE. I used to like her bc of her sweet house and diy thing. I really appreciated that but after watching a bunch of her videos previously and now this.... she's normie you guys. This is the flag. Tries so hard to be a weeb to be relevant all like: My otaku street cred is I watched sailor moon and played ff7 when I was a kid. I'm such an anime nerd I'm just like you, but I'm hot and christian ok nbd! I have anxiety just like you! I'm so antisocial, lets do a video about how much I want to leave parties!!! It just comes off like she's clickbait trend hopping now and upset if the spotlight isnt on her. She's so not self aware, she's obviously just going for popularity like a typical plastic cali girl to stir this drama. I'm sure she's a nice person but she's out of touch and wow that was actually so rude. These kinds of videos aren't flattering or kawaii to put out online.

So she'll spend like $100 on shitty fandom sephiroth trinket perfume but $1500 is too much for an meticulously made ott dress straight from AP? Seriously gtfo, if you can't tell the difference between $100 and $1000 dress quality wise immediately. Her art sucks too cause she has no eye for fine details. Anyway, a full decent brand buzzworthy coord with accesories will ultimately cost that range plus the travel/event tickets. Clearly lolita is not for her, it really takes sacrifice to acquire. You all should know what I mean. She should've just rolled with it and kept it and chalk it up to fate.

Hopefully she is a decent person and eventually realizes why its insensitive if she cares about "feelings" so much. Its overall sad I feel like she has the aesthetic. I'd have loved to see how she'd pair her IC's with diff lolita prints... but lets be real. She'd probably just refuse to wear a blouse in the end to make it sexy with the fake boos

Cheap pleather, with that chemical smell, awesome.

And you guys aren't kidding about her boobs, She's not fat, but she's bordering on chubby, and her bazongas just outsize her for most J-fash that isn't jersey, terry cloth, or oversized. The lilac AP OTKs barely fit, how tall is she?

The wrists cuffs don't work with her tattoos at all.

>It's vegan

She keeps repeating that. It's plastic, and for all that it's nice to animals, it's absolute shit for the environment so that kind of balances the kindness out. How old is she? Because plastic and pleather accessories don't look cute when you look old enough to afford better quality. Fuck, she makes me sound like Tiffy.

But do her boobs ever make her look frumpy in those cut sews and blouses. In the goth outfit her boobs make her look fat. Don't bimbo up, gulls. One thing I got from this vid is that my 32B bust self is going to fit most j-fash just fine.

Like that other anon said, on the gentle cycle, but turn it inside out and put it folded into a net that isn't too large. That's to get the BO from wearing it out, but if there are any stains, try tackling them gently with a microfiber cloth and mild detergent solution before washing.

My favorite way to clean stuff that I don't want to put in the washing machine too often is steaming. It works for wool, silk, and velvet, never had problems. And while I'm not sure this is kosher and am worried I'm going to end up ruining my steamer, I sometimes put a drop of lavender oil in the steamer's water to make sure everything I steam gets a fresh scent.
