I'm on the lower side of large and thought I could do an M one time: I will never fit into my violin shoes and I am sad

Most of the shoes don't really work for lolita, but there are a few like their Caravaggio and Elizabetta that were really popular when they came out. Their claw-foot heel was also apparently copied by Baby, and then Taobao. I have the Robyn boots and they are easily the most comfortable of my lolita shoes.

I wish they'd bring back Caravaggio though, this season's stuff sucks.

I'm slowly building a collection of shoes to match my colors in my wardrobe, but mostly I just buy off eBay or aliexpress and wait the month. In the mean time I'm also looking for some simple everyday shoes that are made from more comfortable and longer lasting companies, such as Clarks or Earth. I always size up my more fashion shoes by a 1/2 size and put some insoles in it.

The shoes I got were too tight the first time around, so they shipped me a half size up for free but somehow they feel too loose

The toe box is still kind of weirdly short, but the inside padding is very cushy and comfortable. The sole isn't the best quality but they do throw in a couple of free caps for the heels and insoles as well. So I'd say I'm really happy with the customer service and the shoe itself is nice depending on the materials chosen. The only thing that bothers me is the short toe box. I do have to say that I probably won't get more just because having the ability to customize the shoes also is kind of limiting in that all the shoes look kind of normal and generic, and I'd be happier spending money on an interesting design.

What do you mean by "safe in snow"? A lolita shoes are generally made from PU or leather, which is the same as normie shoes. They have the same care and concerns in the snow as any other show

How much snow? If you mean shoveled sidewalks and light snow coverage of walking areas, I've never had a problem with brand boots. If you mean slogging through 3-4 inches or more, then... Many people who post in this thread are looking for comfortable shoes that will last and work for lolita. Taobao/Ali/Ebay, hell even brand shoes are often cheap (as in, have cheap materials)or ill-fitting. Brands like Fluevog, Clarks, American Duchess etc are well made and work well for classic or gothic.

So I work at a thrift store and a pair of these shoes showed up today. They were in really good condition and for only $5.00 I couldn't pass them up. Unfortunately, they are too big for me. They are size 7 us which would have fit me in the past, but I went through a major weight loss and my feet changed size.

So long story short, is there any way I can do something to still be able to wear these shoes? Stuffing them with toilet paper works O.K...but it's kind of uncomfortable.

Quite honestly, brave the elements in standard shoes (unless it's stupidly cold to the point where you'll get frostbite, -5°C with a light breeze is fine but -20 wouldn't be). If you're going to be in fields then rock that style. If it's near roads like sidewalks and stuff then yeah, that sort of snow will start to ruin any standard pair.

Hey guys, after all the debates about shoe replicas I've decided to invest in some brand shoes, but I'm worried about throwing away a bunch of money before I figure out which sizes fit me. AP shoes, buy size L, M is barely too small. AP boots, M fits me perfectly (this actually confuses me).

BTSSB also varies. Their honey cross shoes I was an M in black, but L in another color (I was trying on in store). I was an L in their pumps. Boots BTSSB and AatP, I'm also comfortably an L.

Ah my bad, I should've specified. I wear primarily classic, so I think my first choice should be IW, Queen Bee (it's not Japanese burando but like Wunderwelt carries it which I think makes it more legit), but of course, many shoe styles work with classic, so I'm open to all suggestions. If it's a scuff that's a transfer of color (like paint or whatever) Mr. Clean Magic Erasers will take it off gently. If it's a gash type scuff, shoe polish on leather, and taking a permanent marker closest to the color of the shoe and carefully coloring in the gash then rubbing with your finger to blend for PU.

Keep them oiled/polished, and wear decent socks. Most of the traditional Docs are cute but durable.

Otherwise, just buy good winter boots and change at work. Stay away from most wellies though, unless they are a known brand your feet will hate you.

Use the protectant spray meant for auto interiors. Smells nice and preserves the material.

Does anyone know where I could get some light grey lolita-appropriate shoes? I feel like I have a lot of main pieces in this color and no matching footwear.

I know a lot of people on here are pretty crafty and don't mind doing a little DIY, so I just wanted to make sure everyone know about Angelus leather paint. A couple coats gives you an opaque color so any of your leather shoes can become whatever color you need. They also have a couple kinds of top coat so you can get whatever glossiness you desire.

I painted a pair of shoe a couple months ago and I've worn them pretty aggressively. No chipping, not peeling, no cracking. The only place the color is coming off is where I scuffed the toe and damaged the leather.

I can't speak to how it works on PU, but its amazing if you need a specific shade.

I actually kind of hate this brand desu. I used it on two pairs of leather boots (for cosplay). One was a red pair that we tried to paint pink, (which I didn't expect to go too well desu) and the other was a white pair that we tried to paint purple, which I had high hopes for. Both of them took more than 10 coats to get anywhere CLOSE to the color we wanted, and it was streaky af no matter how we applied it. You're right that they didn't chip or peel or crack at all, once the paint is on there, it stays there, but I was really unimpressed with the application.

I tried this on PU bf it did not cover very well. I painted an ivory pair of boots with a stain to white. They are indeed more white now, but the stain is still visible. I can add pics if you'd like.
The sealant is good, but for base color I would just use normal acrylic depending on the size, plan to do this to a pair of old shoes and can report back if anyone wants.

I've tried painting with just acrylic and haven't had luck. I'm sure there's a combination of prepping the material, paint, and sealant that will work, I just haven't figured it out yet.

I tried sponge brush first, then regular paint brush, at one point out of desperation I tried a cheap makeup sponge... Honestly, the only thing I've ever been able to use is floral/outdoor spray paint on PU. BUT that being said it does chip off eventually, so it's definitely not as permanent.

Velvet and suede are different kettles of fish imo. Velvet I treat like a fabric, suede is suede and needs to be mostly preventative care rather than reacting after the fact.

Not sure what in particular you're looking for (pump, boot, etc), but I'd say look for Clarks, Naturalizer, Fluevogs, American Duchess or Oak Tree Farms on eBay. You'll pay way less if you can find them used. I also personally look for leather since it holds up better than PU.

W_Phoenix is pretty cheap and the quality is good.

Velvet should be treated more delicately than suede, but If you mean how to clean and take care of shoes with that kinda fibrous surface, you can get a suede brush and cleaner and protector from a shoe shop and use them gently on the shoes. Or if you don't want to spend like $10 on a tiny specialist brush you could get a hard bristle tooth brush instead.

Not that anyone replied, but they came in, and UK6 VW RHS worked for me. I'm usually a US9, I think the only burando shoes I have are from Meta, and they fit nicely at size LL. The shoe is very short, vertically. But the leather is soft and they're pretty easy to walk in. Also got the "Slave" sandal RHS, they're more peep-toe than actual sandal but they're pretty comfy too.
