Anything I should know about cosplaying as the Producer from CG? Any word of advice is appreciated

First off, I'm glad that you like IM@S, since LL seems more popular with the cosplay scene. However, unless you have a group, no one will recognize you. The "P"-head producer may fare better though

I see, so is there a way I can stand out from just a guy wearing a suit at a con. What about the business card that he uses? Any advice on how to make one?

Your best bet is to embrace it, and keep a number of small accessories on hand to maximize your range.

That is to say, have MIB sunglasses and the mind erasing pen. Have an earpiece and act like secret service. Have a headset and microphone and look like a tv reporter.

Do this and you can pair with many different costumes- and then you can have the cards for when you see your idols.

The only way anyone is going to recognize you in a generic suit as that character is:
1. Be tall like him
2. Use makeup to give yourself the deep eye wrinkles
3. Have a decently styled wig
4. Match the colors of tie/shirt suit AS CLOSELY AS POSSIBLE
5. Have business cards to hand out

Otherwise you're just some nobody in a suit.

You like Idolmaster but don't know anything about the Producer business card culture?

Also sorry but unless you have the P head or some idols with you don't expect any recognition. Just being honest.

>> No.9600660

You could always carry a puchimas style plush of a character?

>> No.9600764

you could go around giving idolm@ster cosplayers the business cards he gives out.

but yes like everyone above me is saying, unless you have a group of idol cosplayers with you, don't expect to be recognized.

>> No.9600998

OP here, business card are out of the question since I only have two days left, is it okay if I just stick a medium-sized yellow P alphabet on my forehead and call it a day?

>> No.9601003

>>9600998
If you only have 2 days, yes. Next time, make your producercards! It is a fandom thing to have your own producercards with your waifu on it and your game id etc.
It makes it easier to start a conversation with Im@s cosplayers as well.

I see, I'll learn from my mistake. And what about the P on my forehead, is that enough?

Op here again, I reread the statement and forgive for that unnecessary reply.

Isn't an Im@s namecard just like pic related?

I'm starting to think you don't know much about IM@S

I don't know much besides Starlight Stage, I'm pretty new to this actually. Both Im@s and cosplaying

You said you only have like 2 days? Why not just skip cosplay this time and plan to do >>9601119 next time once you know more about the series

>> No.9601318

I appreciate your love for the im@s community, but I really don't think doing the whole tux, wig and business card thing is going to work out that well if you are going alone. As someone said previously, being in a group with other im@s cosplayers is a great way to spot you and more importantly the foam P head is the greatest way. Last year at my local con someone cosplayed as Producer-san with the P head and every time I saw him many people were shouting his name. I think if you really love Idolm@ster, you should take the time to watch first season with the 765 pro girls, maybe if you can even deal with Japanese try out the mobile game. It would really show if you put the effort into the costume and took it an extra step.

No. Look up "Idolmaster Producer Card" and you'll see whats up with it.

>> No.9601585

OP here once more, from what I read in this thread I think I'm going to skip cosplaying for tomorrow's event . No cosplay is better than a half-baked one. I would like to thank all the anons here who gave me suggestions on how to refine my cosplay as P-kun and helping a Idolm@ster noob such as myself get into the fandom. Hope you guys and anybody who read this have a nice day.

Op here again, this is what I first had in mind, is it acceptable this way? Sorry for weird censorship

you can't be an idol unless you do thorough research. didn't you know? :3c

>> No.9605002

Wat??? This thread isn't love live though? If anything i agree but can argue idolm@ster is better at deplicting idols than love live.

That post makes sense, however its not related

Too small. If you can't make a big box helmet to wear, at least make it a big and wide enough flat P in a thick font for maximum coverage.

>> No.9608170

>>9604990
You seem salty but they're right. Don't fucking become an idol or anything for that matter without researching it. You WILL get taken advantage of sexually in Japan if you go in with a dumb view of their idol culture.

>> No.9608186

>>9604990
Off topic, but girls who don't look up how the japanese music industry works and who to talk to will end up getting human trafficked as AV actors by low-ranking yakuza when they step off the plane.
