For US it's always $150 shipping.

They also get suits done really quickly. Check their main site to see when your suit would be done.
I do wanna warn though that they don't really do WIPs, rather they'll show you the completed body, ask you to okay it, then continue until they finish the suit and then they rinse and repeat the process until you say "it's good, send it my way"

PS I know it's already halfway through the month, but if you commission them for a custom suit of your OC (this is for anyone interested), you can get a $300 off discount thanks to an offer they made on FB

Minky is a real bitch to work with, all seams show. Fleece is easier if you can do the henson stitch (doing that myself for a Snivy yuru-chara-style mascot, but it's hand stiching so it'll take a long time). If you can find it, use seal/plush fur. It's more expensive, but has a slightly thicker pile and hides seams better. It's also what the official pokemon mascots use. But again, the issue is finding the plush fur, it's hard to comeby the right colors compared to fleece.

Eh, it's all right for cartoony stuff if that's what you're shooting for, but cartoony stuff's overdone for these kinda costumes if you ask me.
I forewent digitigrade stilts when the ones I made didn't work out for digitigrade padding, and while it worked for what it was meant to do, it ballooned my lower half out (which already had a rather large tail) and is perpetually warm even if my upper half's rather chilly.

They aren't or else they would have their hand hooves almost bellow their knees which they don't. Also, they wouldn't have slim necks, shoulders or a curvy shape if they had a quad-like pody.

Eye anon from the last thread with a followup, if anyone remembers. Bought some resin and did my first "proof of concept" pulls with embellishments i had lying around the house. The tail is pretty much solid foam. Started out as a shell like the rest of it, but the leaf on top was too heavy. Endless regluing sessions later and filling the cavity with foam, I got it to stick up. When I wear the suit the tail does perk up more than what's in the picture.
Tail leaf is a bit fatter than I would have liked, and the tail droops, so next time I think I'll make the whole thing out of wire mesh perhaps. For now, I may resort to fishing wire.

Speaking of Kemo suits, I've heard mixed things on K-line. Rady's suits are fantastic, as are Eixin's, but some of the commissions seemed rushed to some people, including the showcase suits. Are they worth commissioning, if they ever open another showcase round? 4-6k is a lot of money to risk having a suit with symmetry problems and the like.

Sad if they're only doing one design and their quality is allegedly dropping on top of that. 6k is a lot for a suit, even moreso when you don't get to have a custom design and the work is done by newer workers or apprentices rather than the artist people know the brand best by.

For non-cute Pokemon suits, what would you use as material for the body? Specifically researching if making a Machamp would be feasible, but I'm a bit hung up on the material for the skin.

I would still go for some kind of fabric that has a pile, so shapes under it are less defined. Upholstery foam cut into shape will always have irregular surface that will shape through thin fabric. So fleece without the latex would be cool, i also think with latex it'll be way too much work to do an entire machamp. Also I recognize that cropped shot, cool costume!
If you wanna choose a thin fabric, maybe peachskin or velvet? It'll still keep the cartoony feel without having a pile. You can use half inch quilt batting to even out the surface of upholstery foam easily before applying the skin.

You have the right idea, yeah. Find the sturdiest mesh you can and use E6000 to glue it tightly over your eye holes and pin it while it dries- it needs to be as tight as you can get it so it doesnt sag. The tricky part is your fur or whatever you're putting over the face needs to be super thin because you'll be looking through that AND the mesh of the eyes. I've done this technique for other non-fursuit costumes and it works great but if your fur is really thick its not gonna work too well.

I was using a very thin black velvet, almost like a peach skin so that I could see through it but it still had a fuzzy appearance.
The only way I know of to get your fur to look like sheeps wool- and this is a terrible idea, Im warning you now- is to wash the pieces and then put them through the dryer on low. I've seen some people actually pull it off and it came out looking a bit messy but like wool however I do not not recommend it.

A better idea might be to get actual wool roving and either needlefelt all the little"balls" and attach them down or just roll bits of the wool and glue gun it down to the base.

Failing either of those methods, just buy faux sheep wool looking fabric, it exists but its super pricey.

What do you use for the cream fur? I've been looking on and off for something that might work (Used something more akin to sheep wool the first time around for whatever reason.) and everything I've seen seemed a bit short. (3.5" pile length.)
>That tail solution
Slightly more elegant than what I did, (2-3 metal coat hangers straightened and run down the length of the tail with the other end bent at a 90 degree angle up to halfway up the back and looped back around with two belts around the torso to keep it attached.)
I can't tell how large that piece of wood is, do you get much in the way of unwanted movement with your attachment set up?

The wooden plate is 6 inches long, and theres one strong metal wire running through the tail, with a lets say 10 inch thin pvc pipe for the first portion else it droops. The pvc pipe is clamped to the wood plate with the screws. So someone would have to bump and bend the first 6 inches of the tail to do any damage or hurt me, the rest is flexible thankfully. The belt has some wide elastic in it so it has some wiggle room in case anyone will

Speaking of fur, where could I find seal fur/plush fur in a good variety of colors?

Nice. I'm thinking on making that Zorua quad with seal fur perhaps, so these should be helpful

Finished the lucario head, the short fur is annoying to handstitch straight and i'm not completely happy about the eyes, i think they look a bit uncanny. But hard to do much about that on a cartoon character. All that's left is the arms now.

They look uncanny 'cause the pupil & iris are way too small. Other than that, looks alright.

Good point, maybe i can fix them up a little bit. i didn't count in the extra sclera white you get from adding a foam border.. Mad respect for fursuiters who make their heads look amazing though, this is so hard to make it look convincing

are they supposed to be follow me eyes? if so the pupil/iris need to be in the center of the eye. having them off center will mess with the following effect.

No not really, the head doesnt have the right shape for it like real fursuit heads, so i only added a very small border to help with the eye attachment. But it looks a lot better already with bigger eyes

Looks like we hit the reply limit, why not make a new thread?

Because this is a slow board, new threads don't need to be made right away. Someone already did though.
