I like sack dresses, but only on certain shapes. >>9588348 Look good, but >>9588350 not. It should be somewhat thin fabric and gathered near the shoulder area, not over the boobs. These dresses only fit flat girls, even a bit of boobs make it lose the shape.

I have pic related and I love the quality but it looks fucking huge on me. I'm not even that small, I mean, I'm sure the average Japanese girl is smaller than me. How should I wear it? Should I alter it? (My waist size is 70 cm and bust size 81 cm)

I guess I just don't understand the appeal of these dresses. They look comfy, but they also look like sleep dresses or like the brands were trying to make dresses that could be sold to the most people possible. I thought the same, until one summer I got sick with something that left my stomach sore and made me nauseous if anything pressed on it. Really surprised to learn that the comfiest thing in my wardrobe was the Cosmic muumuu that I'd bought on impulse. I still had to run errands despite being sick, and found the muumuu, paired with lightweight shorts, was just so incredibly comfy while being cute for running around town in.

I think sleep dresses is pretty much it -- they're comfy while being cute, that's about it.

I like them. I think our (the West) idea of lolita has become too defined. Too many rules. Now it's too costumey. If a lolita brand puts out a dress, it's probably with the intent of being worn for lolita. I think sack dresses are cute and fun. I personally like empire dresses more but sack dresses are lolita too.

I'm not sure if that'd be empire on anyone who had tits though, unless you're short and literally flat-chested I think that waistband would hit on the bust rather than under, making it more of a sack cut.

I think another issue is the broader your shoulders are with these dresses the more boxy you look. Essentially these dresses are draped over the body and what happens towards the top of the dress dictates how the dress will flow at the bottom.
