I'm white but a few other white people have told me I look "different" whether that's true or not, and what's going for me is that I do have really thin lips that have a natural v in the center. Aside from the bullshit of being against new fans, con season is only just starting now. 12 months ago, when con season started last year, we didn't have enough knowledge of the characters or outfits to cosplay them well, and if we did, we'd get shit for rushing to be "first". Good point, without some sort of structure it would just look like a floppy thing hanging off the wig. If I knew much about materials I would recommend some, but maybe styrofoam would work? It wouldn't weigh the wig down too much, and you wouldn't have to worry about cutting it perfectly since hair would be covering it. And maybe you could paint it dark green with some acrylic paint to match the wig as well.

I would use chopped off hands for halloween and stick wires inside them if they arent already posable and paint them and add the back piece. All the ones on the shirt can be glued on, the neck ones can be attatched together with magnets or velcro underneath the fingers and back of the neck, and the two ones on the head can be connected by elastic and would balance on top of your head.

Planning a sports festival calvary battle group, with me and my bf doing Mei and Tokoyami. When I was watching I fell in love with Mei as I identify with her the most and I've been honestly surprised about the amount of people cosplaying her vs Uraraka who I thought was going to be a sure hit since she's so easy to do.

Make a template with card stock, once you have a general shape figure out what your base material is going to be and how you're going to see (were doing cutouts where the eyes are with painted mesh, or something similar). EVA foam, reinforced cardboard, etc. Then build your base, prime the beak area. Pick your poison for the back portion. You can paint it solid, use fur slicked back (that's what were doing after looking at like 1000 birds at the aquarium and zoo) or actual feathers.
Finish up the beak with paint and wha-lah. There are a few steps in the middle there but generally that's how we're doing it. We're also making the beak articulated with a jaw piece and will probably have a zipper to get in and out of. Still in the first phase of planning and experimenting before going balls to the wall.

Two people I know recently cosplayed Ochako and Tsuyu. They ordered character wigs and the Tsuyu one wasn't bad but jesus the Uraraka wig wasn't even moderately accurate. Good thing one of them was good at cutting hair.

I'm working on him too! If you needed more options: I'm sculpting mine from wire and model magic. After woodfiller for the cracks, apoxie for the details, and plastidip for the finish, each hand should be around .5lb.
Probably more effort than other methods, but I really enjoy sculpting.

I did Jiro! I bought two $1 earbuds, cut it up to a good length according to reference pics, and then put folded floral wire next to it (other wire that's thicker but bendable is probably better) and covered it in regular tannish masking tape! I made the cut ends into hooks to keep them on my ear since the wig covers up that part. If you have medical tape, you could secure it even further.

Model magic isn't for everyone, but I've had great expreriences as long as I build it on a solid base. I have a horn that is attached to a wig and 10 inches long that has lasted me several cons. Just have to be careful.

Sorry for the shit quality. Fits rather snug with the measurements I sent them, though it doesn't have any pockets. The zipper goes all the way up if you have a long neck too. Pants use elastic like regular jogging pants. Fabric is decent quality.

It's honestly very difficult to match lines like that on top/bottom pieces unless its a form-fitted design; physically you move too much that the lines never match unless you're standing straight with your arms at your sides. Agreed the fabric doesn't look decent at all though. Kinda looks like your typical chinese cosplay store uniform polyester.
