How/where do I get these full-black color contacts without emptying out my savings account?

Try putting black nailpolish in an eyedropper, and drip it slowly on your eye. Try not to blink until it dries.

No no no, don't do this, it's too dangerous. Just take a sharpie and color in a normal contact lens. You might have to put in a couple lenses in each eye to cover all the white.

>> No.9484241

Another safe method is sprinkling black eyeshadow into your eye. It's made for your eye area, so you know it's safe. It will be a little greyer than the deepest black, but at least you can get full coverage.

Sclera lenses aren't cheap (nor are they safe, but that's a different matter entirely). Either cough up the cash or don't use them.

I'm suddenly reminded of the horror stories of the people who tried making their own coloured contacts with food colouring, acrylic paint, or the bottoms of soda bottles.

I tried the soda bottle trick and it worked fine?

If you're worried about infections, just thoroughly clean the soda bottle contact lens with disinfectant and then wash with water.

When you're buying sclera lenses you don't want to be buying cheap ones, if anything you should be looking for the highest quality ones. I think the cheapest ones I've seen were around $150, but again, when it comes to your fucking eyeballs you should be least concerned about price and most concerned about quality and safety.

Omfg you guys are retarded. You can make sclera lenses out of what's essentially a shrinky dink. Go look through your recycling and look for something made of #6 plastic, cut it up, clean it and dry it thoroughly. After that go to the store and get two large marbles/glass orbs that are around an inch in diameter. Out them in a baking sheet and made them able to stand without rolling around, i made little clay stands for the marbles so I always have something to use. Cut the plastic into two identical circles that are about a cm in diameter, or for sclera lenses about 2 cm, then pop the plastic circles onto the marbles. They'll balance pretty easy, then bake them like normal shrinky dinks and watch as they melt around the mold. After they come out make sure to sand the OUTSIDE of the lenses down around the edges and really take the time to smooth them out. You can paint the OUTSIDE whatever color you want with non-toxic kid paints. To seal it in you have to do a super thin UV resin layer and you're done. They're not super comfy since they're not super squishy but they'll work just fine for a few hours at a con.

Uniqso.com + coupon code would be under $100. If you can't afford that, you shouldn't be wearing them - sclera lenses that are made to fit your eyes are a lot more than that.

>> No.9484522

>>9484494
Don't do that. You should cough up the extra cash and get them custom made for safety reasons because scleras have more safety issues than regular lenses
>>9484220
Go to your eye doctor and get your prescription. Make sure you explain you're getting sclera lenses and make sure you get your pupil size. Then go to somewhere reputable like samhain lenses and get them custom made.

OP specifically asked for cheaper options, and non-custom lenses are cheaper. If they want to take the risk or be forced to wear them for shorter periods of time, that's their choice. I know people who've worn the non-custom ones with no problem but it's not something that I can do because my eyes are too sensitive.

>> No.9484634

Holy fucking shit, I can't tell if all of the people in this thread are trolling or genuinely fucking retarded. OP, please don't look for a cheap option for something you're going to stick directly in your eye, you don't want to risk having serious and possibly permanent vision problems because you're trying to save money on cosplay.

Not to start shit, but its not like Americans want to go blind, we just have an insane healthcare system that fucks over everyone except for insurance companies and makes things that should be cheap and simple exorbitantly expensive.

Sage for super off topic.
