time for a new one?

>order a blouse through LM from a fairly new French seller
>seller ships blouse with tracking, perfect
>tracking hasn't updated since she shipped it and it has been weeks
>feel kinda bad for the seller that this has to happen as she's quite new

the fun thing is, is that the distance between France and the Netherlands isn't that big (only Belgium in between)

hope it will arrive soon though

please share your stories!

Hello, Chantal. Do you really need to talk about this on Rufflechat AND /cgl/ ? Talk to the seller, get her to call the post office, don't post about this everywhere.

Posted this a while ago but it's settled now.

>buy something for a cosplay from China
>ships quickly, but tracking never updates
>message seller after a month or so
>package was lost by their post office
>seller sends another, I pay extra for shipping because the con's approaching
>and... ???
>seller never gives a tracking number for the new package
>I've asked them 3 times, eventually they just don't respond at all
>eBay refunds the first shipment of the package within hours of opening a case
>Paypal refunds the extra shipping, seller didn't even try to fight me on it
It was a strange experience. I'm curious what the fuck their problem was.

My large tenso order was sent to the wrong post office. Far away from me and in the worst area in my city. Said post office has the same hours as my work hours so I have to wait until Saturday to pick it up.

Area isn't unsafe in the day but its really not pleasant to walk around there.

I don't know about the Chinese seller, but eBay/PayPal pretty much exist to fuck sellers over. It's guaranteed that you'd get your money back on both the item and shipping almost immediately unless you actually left the seller messages admitting fault and calling them cunts.

As for the Chinese seller, I assume they're overworked and underpaid and English is a pain in the butt to communicate in even if English is a mandatory second language course for Chinese kids grade 1-12.

Not Chantal but I have personally posted my mail horror stories several times because I was super salty, it helped me get over it by talking to people about it. going "Hi __" just makes you look not only like an asshole but a drama starter. Let the girl vent.

>buy a pair of OTKs from US seller with lots of good feedback
>eurofag, but bought from US with no probelms
>only worry here are my strict customs, but if it's really small it might slip through
>seller ships them mid-march and tracking works, so no problem
>suddenly they take a trip to Brazil
>stay in Brazil, wtf???
>suddenly one day "incorrect address, returns to sender"
>seller and me can't figure out what happened, none of us used a wrong address
>socks go back to US, we guess they come back and I get a refund
>suddenly a few days later they arrive in my postbox

Hm. Come to think of it, you're right. I've also been buying from China for years now and only recently have I been getting weird problems. I had another package that did have a tracking number that never updated, and less than 2 weeks later it's on my doorstep, which is crazy fast for free shipping from China. While that's a fantastic problem to have, it is pretty unusual.
I'm wondering if there's something going on over there.

Yeah it's weird, once I sold a dress to a buyer in the US (eurofag too) and the shipping said something like "Couldn't deliver, package being returned".

Now shipping was already around 35€ so it was kind of a pain to pay it again by me or the buyer. I contacter my post office and they couldn't do a thing to intercept it.

Turns out it was fine and they just left a slip at the buyer's address for her to pick it up. Shipping stuff internationally is such an headache.

If something were to happen I'd feel bad but I'm not a corporation so no refunds unfortunately.

>a week later, I see a package on my door step
>its the merch

Brazil's postal service is a mess though Anon. I don't live there but I've had friends say it takes literally 2 months just to get stuff from Aliexpress and the post is always backed up so people just don't get shit in a timely manner.

Customs fees are also really high there, the other person may not want to pay for your package's fees and then their own when you trade. Honestly the SS should be taking care of rerouting that package or something if it hasn't arrived yet, it's their mistake. I'm sorry you're in that situation, I'd be really upset too.

Minor mail horror on my end but hoping it'll get resolved soon:

Half the time they fuck up and I have to drive out to the ass end of the county to claim it because "oops the machine read it wrong" even though they're supposed to have a person look over the unread boxes. >we get into long argument that results in me picking the package up 30 minutes away

>bought from same seller 2 weeks ago
>shipped though UPS to my PO box again
>UPS refuses to hand over package again
>it's been 5 days and they haven't even attempted to contact me
>meanwhile, other package shipped through UPS is handed over and in my PO box

There are ways to bypass customs fees. If you are ordering from Japan you can use a forwarding service or a proxy and ask them to undervalue. Never use EMS. SAL is the safest option etc.

Nayrt but it's not always that simple. In my home country, you can undervalue whatever you want because you'll be forced to provide proof you did indeed pay that price for them to release your package anyway. To top it, it's not uncommon for packages to be stuck in customs for up to 2 months.

I've had packages reach my home country in a week and then stay for a whole month just forgotten in customs, regardless of how many emails, phone calls and complaints I made and despite having sent the value proof documents asap. And still ended up paying pretty much half the total cost of the package in customs fees.

I have explained what I do here before but apparently the custom system sucks in some countries like UK so never mind if this won't work for you. I have nowadays tamed a lot but I used to trick customs all the time few years ago. The easiest way to do this is make sure you tell them the exactly same value as in the package, atleast in my country they lack resources so much they will most likely release it as the value matches. If that doesn't work just fix whatever price into a receipt, Paypal is the easiest one to photoshop. I have heard in some countries they can google where the package came etc. so this would only work if it came through a shopping service or something. I'm lucky enough to live in a country with super busy customs so they won't do anything as extreme as in some European countries. Won't probably change in a near future either if they go through with removing the VAT freedom from small packages because my country is too fucking stubborn to hire new stuff to the customs.

That's what I do but 90% of the time I still get the fees anon. Sometimes you just have bad luck.

I've done the photoshopping thing with success before but it's always a risk, especially when the seller just puts a random number on the package. Back home, I found it way more easy to go in person to customs and hand in the docs than doing so by email, they barely looked at them and confirmed nothing except if price was under fee exemption or not, stamped that shit and off I go get my stuff. If i email them instead, they take ages to reply and sometimes whine those arent the correct docs (and then I resend the exact same ones and after a while they're magically okay).

I'm in the UK atm and while i have never been asked for proof, I've noticed that recently a lot more of my packages are getting hit by customs than when I moved here a couple years ago.
I got a pretty undervalued package in UK customs atm, pray for me. I had to choose EMS because I'm leaving my current residence really soon and will be out the country for a while, SAL was cutting it too close to my departure (and the cost was pretty much the same). How fucked am I?

I can't speak for UK but sometimes my lower value (under 50€) EMS packages have slipped through but that's more likely due the lack of resources and getting lucky. Also, you could always say something like "Chinese sellers are a bit unrealiable" if the value doesn't match. It has happened billion times to me that there is different value on the package that I and the seller (it was usually MLD, fuck them) agreed on. It shouldn't be a problem if the value is lower in the package oe atleast our customs just happily accept the "extra" they think they are getting. But again, noy in the UK so I don't really know.

>> No.9490020

>>9489849
Yes, it is, have you tried it? They charge extra for the tracking in another country, but the customs number will give you the delivered status and tracking in the US, which is all you really need.

>> No.9490522

>>9489991
I think you're just lucky or your country doesn't suck, unfortunately the tracking already warned me of "customs charges raised"... Now I'm just worried at how much they're going to bullshit and try to make me pay.
Thank you for your advice tho, I wish I wasn't so unlucky with customs everywhere. Back home they are absolute garbage, now UK customs are getting worse as well. Gone is the time I got 100+ figurines slipping through untouched. At least they work faster than back home, I guess.

I thought I could maybe be lucky since my last EMS package slipped through just fine. Either way I didn't have much choice, SS took way too long with some bullshit and then SAL would risk my stuff arriving after I was gone. Lesson learned, next time I'll plan things better.

I've had a buyer threaten to file a claim through PayPal because the parcel was taking too long to reach her.
It was almost $300 and I undervalued it because I was nice (and stupid).
If it got lost I would have only been able to claim a small amount.
After this I'm really hesistant to sell through Facebook comma. Also there's no way to leave this buyer neutral feedback at all.
The parcel was already sitting with her postal service but she refused to chase it up with them. Horrible experience.

This is not exactly a horror story, just something stupid someone did
>my phone stared ringing
>It's a number I don't know so I just ignore it because I hate talking on the phone
>unknown number call for the fourth time so I pick up
>it was the mail girl, wanted to ask where I lived
>someone in customs decided that the best place to put their sticker was exactly over my address

The postal code was still visible so at least the package was sent to the nearest post office

So I bought a dress from a seller on LM back in March. It finally arrived yesterday after she said it returned to sender. I don't believe she sent it in the first place as I've never had a parcel not get delivered to my work, and she never asked for a phone number for the delivery in the first place. It arrived shoved in a tiny box. The dress is covered in some sort of weird fibres and also has damage including a pulled thread on the print. The listing has no mention of any damage. Would I be able to get a partial refund from the seller or not? Should I take this immediately to PayPal? I kinda don't want to send it back but I'm fairly certain I paid the original price for the dress and it wasn't in new condition at all. Seller also had fucking terrible communication.

>> No.9494059

>>9494027
It depends on how bad the pulled thread is. If it's something that case be smoothed out or isn't noticeable, I'm not really sure what you can get out of that.

If it is unfixable however message her about it first and give her the opportunity to refund you. Don't be concerned about the returned to sender portion, just focus on how the dress is not as described. If she refuses or doesn't reply, tell her you will take the case to Paypal if she doesn't reply in x amount of time. If she still doesn't reply, open a Paypal dispute that includes links and screenshots of her dress description with no mention of damage.
