I know you're probably a troll shaming women for their decisions but you've actually got a point with the family. A family teaches you one thing: To not abandon people or friends over some stupid arguments or whatever shallow and selfish reasons. Most friends you have in your life will stay stay around only for a while until you or them are moving on. Epecially in this opportunistic western society. There will come the point for most people, when they end up being alone. A healthy family requires two people who are in for it though. Forcing all women to become baby machines will gain the persons involved and the society nothing. It will just create a backwards society a la middle middle east 2.0. Giving people the choice also creates better families and the women opting out who feel not suitable for it are actually just subconsciously doing damage control. So no need to fucking shame.

But heck how stupid can one possibly be not realizing that getting children means to sacrifice a part of freedom your for your child. No shit your child is depended on you and you can't decide things like vacations or such on the whim anymore. The mothers in the article talk like they thought that they would have a personal gain, an achivement to become parents. Holy shit on what planet do they live being so desilusional. Only exepction was that mother being forced into getting the child, I do empathize with her. The others though, it's their own fucking fault for being stupid.

You wouldn't understand unless you were living it.

They're not really making their own decisions though. From their childhood onward they were fed some lies that having kids would make them miserable. Unfortunately we now live in a society that shames mothers for being mothers - it's really the sickest thing anyone could think of, but there it is.

I remember in high school (late 90s for me) they were asking what we wanted to do when we grew up, and this girl said she wanted to be a homemaker but expressed that she was very ashamed of it. The nasty version of feminism we have today was just getting started then - now it's ten times worse. It doesn't surprise me that so many of you are so misguided.

Trust me: you want to get married and have kids sooner than later. Once your youth is gone, it's gone. You don't want to spend the last 40 years of your life wondering "where all the good men went." Here's a spoiler: they're either married and raising kids or trying to date (and marry, if the girl plays her cards right) a girl aged 18-25.

This.

I started wearing the fashion at 30. I'll be 36 this year. I have no plans on stopping in the near future but I may decide to downsize at some point. I just got my wardrobe to where I like it. It'd be sad if I decided "welp time to take up knitting and scrapbooking because my age means I'm old now."

If you take good care of your skin, or just wear sunscreen/moisturizer, get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids, plus eat a good healthy diet chances are people won't be able to discern your age. I didn't really even take much care of my skin except avoiding sunlight like a hermit until I hit 30 and I'm usually mistaken for early 20's.

i started wearing the fashion in like '05 or '06 and i remember a time when meta was the only big brand that shipped overseas. i think that's why i still have a big soft spot for them. i also bought stuff from anna house (that hong kong brand) a couple times too. i wish i still had some of my old meta, i ended up giving it away when i decided to build a new wardrobe one year

also i remember that back then, one of the biggest sources of drama was whether or not ero lolita was really a lolita substyle or not. kana / moon kana / whatever her name is started doing a lot of ero lolita photoshoots around that time and some people seemed grouchy about it

looking back on those days makes me feel fucking ancient. my wardrobe for the first few years was mostly handmade because you just couldn't buy real lolita clothing in the states. those scanned patterns from g&l bible were a lifesaver

oh, another thing i remember is that country lolita was a very distinct style from sweet back then. now the two seem to have pretty fused together

It's because I still think of CTP as a super new piece. I was in the fashion for 5 years already when it first came out. We're old hags, anon.

whoa

not even dial-up?

>tfw downloading visual kei PVs via Limewire on dialup
>tfw the exciting early days of YouTube arrived and you did not have to download something in order to watch it and copyright was still not enforced
>tfw seeing Mana move for the first time after only knowing him through lowres GeoCities jpegs
>tfw your (non)floppy disks of fashion inspo and manga become obsolete over time as the internet becomes freely, instantly, unobtrusively accessible

shit has changed so much

Oh god, Baby Paris closing in only a few days when it was there since 10 years make me feel so weird. I was there at their first event ever. My heart. It feels as if it was just last year

are most of you males? if so how can you get into lolita since its girls dresses?

Anon, /cgl/ is a mainly female populated board. The lolita community is, also, mainly female populated.
Even though such things as males wearing lolita exist (brolitas), they're a minority. Even though most dresses might fit snuggly or not at all if you're a guy (larger shoulders,torso,waist,...) some dresses could fit you, just look up the measurements. There are also custom made plus size dresses specially made for bigger girls (bigger in bust size,height,...or just fat) and the like.

I remember going to cyber cafes (because having internet connection was just for rich people and I was so piss poor I didn't even have a computer at home) and print low res coords to gawk at later. Goddamnit.

When I first got into lolita OTT sweet was the big thing. I'd look at girls with two toned twin tail wigs and hope that someday it could be me

Every so often other parts of 4chan remember that there are grills on /cgl/ and start shitposting en masse about sluts, daddy issues and >tfw no gf. Let's try not to invite this shit.
