Creative weird shit in the general EGL fashion family (lolita, aristocrat, ouji, otome, etc.). Especially Alice Deco/Nana Kitade type coords.

Hard to say, I do think that some belts can work but elastic ones can look cheap or out of place. Depends on what the belt looks like and how well it works with the rest of your coord, I guess.
Not all of her coords are lolita but Fanny Rosie uses belts well in her outfits so I suggest you take a look at what she does, it might give you some inspiration.

Agreed, most of the colors don't go together at all. I do think contrasting colors can work like in >>9420297 center-right coord because the red and blue are balanced and are the color values match (meaning if you were to change this photo to black and white they'd be the same shade of grey)

I think it's kinda telling, that as a rule that magazines can get away with weirder punk, creative, and downright bizarre coords because of the quality of photography, composition, and context, even if the same coords on the street would be labeled ita (especially by westerners who have grown accustomed to a very streamlined version of lolita 'rules')

People argued like crazy about this coord. Sorry to bring it up again.
Im not one for no blouse type looks but I actually really like the tanktop/skirt combo here. It would look like shit if the top was a normie no decoration tank top but with the pintucks and detailing I think it looks really quite nice.

I hope we can have threads like this often. I took a break from /cgl/ recently before coming back but god it was so irritating to be consistently told that my taste is shit just because cgl has this weird made up standard bullshit and if you don't fit the mold, you're asked to leave.

it came off very punk to me but I think a lot of gulls are very picky about what should and shouldn't be considered punk lolita. it's dumb because punk itself was never that way. Mashing to two together can be difficult but she gave me the 80's punker vibe with no issues.

She also did ero stuff that cgl lost it's mind over cause no one can do ero either. Again. She looks fine. I seriously don't get the hate.

For me, the lace on this looks too cheap, the bra bodice is too normie/trendy, and the side bangs she has look unbrushed, like a just woke up stoner chick. There just seems to be a lack of thought/taste in styling details in these coords for me. I enjoy the idea of them, but the execution is not there yet. Ero requires a lot of finesse and understanding of style and nuance and pieces that go together juuust right. And ero is also hard because busters/corsets and other ero elements are so commonly seen in cheaper "cosplay" lolita outfits that if they don't look just right, they end up reminding people of that.
