A few things. Quality for one- granted you're doing New Year's skin, but for regular D.Va, do more than just the spandex suit that everyone buys.Make the armor parts, have gloves, etc.

I was at Anime Boston last year, as a Diamond Dog. I was walking around with a couple other MGS cosplayers, and we ran into an Umbrella Corps group. For me Marvel cosplay is super cringey, especially since most people are just cosplaying from what they know of the Avengers movies/fandom. Also partially related is any series that focuses more on costume design than actual characters or plot (Love Live, LoL) but that's more a personal preference. Having dweeby in-character interactions is fun.

Pcc has the hive group that is soo cringy. Most of the people in that group are like not dressed in any thing but BDUs and a tank top with a patch on their pants. There are some good umbrella cosplays of actual characters. But the rest of them have that "I'm the best cosplayer here" ego.

Disney princesses and corset tutu super heros are annoying and everywhere which I would like much less of that. It's decent construction and good effort, ultimately cogfop 'engineering' is a joke and it would be better off if they stopped pretending the contrary. If it wasn't, it would be bulky, dirty/rusty, and ugly (which I would argue adds a charm all its own).
