What's sad is that the sweater definitely doesn't even look stretched out by whoever is in that photo. She's larger, but definitely not THAT large. That much for some secondhand (thirdhand?) stretch. I guess I can sort of understand it. Back when I was into lolita, I would have taken a stretched out, stained Puppet Circus because it was my dream dress. Sometimes you're so in love with something that you don't care what condition it's in. You just want to have it.

>Have any of you actually ever been to Harajuku and seen these fashions irl?
I have, yeah. Visited last year to visit family during winter, honestly Harajuku isn't all it's cracked up to be in the west. I definitely saw people in jfashion (particularly lolita and goth? Saw way more gothic people than I expected). I didn't see much in terms of fairy kei but I can't say whether that's due to weather or because I didn't bother going to visit fk shops.
Also, larme is so normie, even though it was everywhere I barely registered it as a subculture jfashion just because it's everywhere.

> or asked a Japanese person about their style?
Please don't do this unless you're good friends with that person. It's really random and kind of rude; they're never going to say it to your face but definitely when you leave they'll be like "what is that all about?"

>How long?
Really as of the last month. I used to wear lolita ages ago and I tried to get back into it but it just felt like a lot of effort and honestly I currently sit around all day a lot and I wanted to feel cute and cozy
>Who or what are your inspirations?
Well I always liked the idea of "fairy kei" but was never into the execution of it(and a lot of the 80s cartoon themes) but then yume kawaii opened it up a lot more. I love the magical girl themes(including the slightly darker tones hidden inside the cute/fluffy/dreamy motifs)
>Favourite thing about style or community
Honestly I don't feel like I'm in the community so I don't feel like there's a favourite thing I could have
>Least favourite
Again see above
>Any trends you hope catch on or die out?
I really hope the popular styles lean more towards yume kawaii and the flexibility that comes with it and away from the old school fairy kei. I think it should keep evolving.

>How long have you been wearing fairy kei/yumekawaii?
It's more of a casual once-in-a-while style for me, so even though I've worn it two years ago I really have been active in the fashion for maybe a month at max.
>Who or what are your inspirations?
Kyary actually. I remember her adorable street style looks and one of them brought me to fairy kei. I also loved Kimura and was super excited that KOKOKim was becoming a thing. PEA, though it was a western brand, was also a source of inspiration.
>What is your favorite thing about the style or community? Least favorite?
Like the other anon, I'm not really in the community, but from what I see it's overall very easy-going and positive. However, it also seems very small/not much activity.
>Any trends you hope catch on or die out?
It might sound weird but I really did like the idea of pastel uchuu when we had threads about it. Holographic space themes with magical girl styling and a ridiculous amount of fluffy star items? Sign me up.

I don't really have any. I wish I knew about more people who could help me dress better. I don't feel like I'm pulling off the style yet.
>What is your favorite thing about the style or community? Least favorite?
I like how the style is so cute and innocent!

decora, much like every other jfashion on this board, comes with a certain theme-ing/mood in mind when creating an outfit. You can figure out when someone is intending on decora from the way their outfit is structured. If you can't, take the time to read about decora and look at lots of pictures to immerse yourself, and then you'll probably understand more. It's like saying "what's the feeling of eating XX food", because someone can say that it's unbearably spicy and someone can disagree and say it's mild, but it's still XX food regardless. Someone can be in denial that it's spicy enough but it's still that food.
