Starting off the thread with a topic
What would you say is your fairy kei dream item?
My dream item is pic related from Magical. Magical's clothes are so scarce that I will probably never come across it for sale secondhand but I love it.
I can dream though

I think unicorn pastel vomit colors is okay for fairy kei, but candy kid raver appeal is not. If you are dead set on the items you have chosen, maybe you should scrap the a-line dress in favor of a loose long sleeve top, the sweatshirt, or the relaxed fit women's tee? I'd also maybe suggest a blue pettiskirt as opposed to pink. Keep pink limited to the accessories like your necklaces, bracelets, or whatever it is you choose to wear. Maybe some pink and yellow accessories, the blue leggings, blue pettiskirt, and the white top. I say pettiskirt because when I hear 'tutu', I think of the candy kid raver tutus that are super stiff and puffy. Take my suggestions with a grain of salt.

>> No.9325382

Oh, and maybe some white platforms or shoes to go alongside white being the main color of the top, to bring some balance. Picking shoes for leggings can be kind of difficult. I assume you are wearing some sort of open toe 'sandal'.

Vintage pastel sweaters are really sought after and there aren't that many. It's a simple case of supply and demand. The higher the demand, the higher the price will be, especially if the item is rare. I don't mind spending money on them, because to me they are worth it. Some people expect them to be cheap and get mad when they sell for a high price, but they are honestly worth whatever price people are prepared to pay for them. If you can't hack that, then you're not going to have much luck unless you get lucky and find one in a thrift store.

It isn't really big in comparison to most countries+US states, it is only that they have a very strong focus in online activity
>How come there's a whole group reserved for UK Fairy Kei sales and not an EU one?
There are plenty of groups for single european countries plus shipping varies a lot between each EU country so it wouldn't be any different than using the international sales group because prices are often so nuts that they make it cheaper to buy from the US or Asia rather than your neighbor country.

The best site to absolutely find something is honestly Etsy like others have already mentioned. You'll have to sort through what isn't very good or overpriced, but a lot of quality stuff for fairy kei exists on Etsy. The downside is if you end up purchasing items from several stores, you pay shipping for each store. Be careful with that. I'll look later tonight to find some specific stores. Much of what I have saved is a bit too dark, but I definitely see stuff when searching 'fairy kei' on occasion. Jewelry alone has over 6,000 results.

Some department stores carry bead sets with many of the same beads (hearts, stars, and so forth) for less then 15$. These sets seem to pop up randomly, so you may have to check back several times throughout the year to find it. Otherwise there's a plethora of suppliers online or through Aliexpress. If you are willing to take the time to make something, you can make most your beaded bracelets and necklaces for super cheap.

I always liked Claire's to find accessories although like department stores, you'll have to check by multiple times throughout the year to find nice items. That's why when I go to other towns, I love checking out other Claire's aside from my local store. It seems every store stocks different items. They are good to find hair accessories and miscellaneous jewelry. Watch out if you are allergic to nickle, a lot of Claire's stuff causes allergic reactions in some people.

>> No.9331980

Oh, there's also Fickle Wish. They likely fall in the same price range, but they change out their brands quite often. In the past few months, I've noticed they've rotated out brands quite a bit. Not all of it is usable for fairy kei, but it's a nice link to have around. All their products are sold through Jungle which a hobby shop located in Japan. I'll try getting some links from Etsy tonight when I got more time. Stuff that's similar to 6% since you like their items.

It's also no reason for people to be so butthurt and screaming about what the prices SHOULD be since they are the ones pushing it up. If someone buys it for 200, they are going to want to sell it for 200 too, do people just forget that? I have seen a few "popular" FKers sell their sweaters for way more than they bought them for, like that pig sweater most recently.

I also think that it would make more sense if people didn't mark up their milklim products like mad, I have seen that cotton candy sweater go for ridiculous amounts. Only when it's obviously fake/looks like a wig. I personally think natural (especially dark) hair looks best with fairy kei, but there's something lovely about pastel throughout the outfit. Flat colors though, like a harsh blue or neon green, don't work well to me. Even just bright pink I find bad.

eh I always found bright hair fun in decora but it clashes so bad with the whole soft look fairy kei goes for, so I wouldn’t really call it nitpicking per say, especially if his wardrobe is as expansive as it sounds (I’m not a big fan of instagram so I wouldn’t know) Also, seconding >>9337542 I’m a trans dude as well so I get the whole pride in baby’s first mustache but I just find most facial hair, especially ugly wispy freshman in high school facial hair, to look so unsanitary in most jfash. It depends. The cardigans are nice and kinda feel worth the price, however I feel most the dresses and skirts aren't worth the price tag quality wise, even though they're super cute. Try to pick them up second hand or while on sale.

I can only confidently vouch for their cardigans being worth it and generally consistent, I've heard mixed feelings about their skirts though.
Also be wary of color variations/check pics from reviews if possible. Don't want to end up like the poor person a thread or two ago who bought the bunny top thinking the gem eyes were light pink only to find their cute light blue bunny top had bright red demon eyes.

none of these sub genres of style would exist unless people crafted their own versions of it? there is a major window of fashion and then it has subsections, these subsections have guidelines of what is represented in each individual fashion. now you can follow that to a T and use only godtier burando and shit but you can also mix and match these fashions as shown several times in street snaps, these fashions aren't exclusive, hence you have pastel goth which incorperates two or more fashions? guro fairy kei... same thing. to box in these looks based off of burando selling means you probably don't think for yourself or know how to create coords without your burando magazines. nitpicking someones style or art is fucking dumb?
also that you think that anyone who differs is trying to be a special snowflake? well guess what? the reason jfashion exists in the way it does is so that japanese people can stand out from the crowd and celebrate their individuality ... aka be a fucking snow flake.

Not the super salty op of the facial hair post u responded to, so I'm not exactly sure why you're directing your rage at me, but regardless I, as well as most of the people here afaik, hold no delusions about how the fashion looks to the public eye. These are merely intra-community issues, I hope you can differentiate that. You do make some fair points, but if you're going to go somewhere to baww about how nobody likes non-conformity and loves nitpicking, 4chan of all places is really not the place to start.
