My parents got a Mishibox
so far I recieved
I'd like to say these prices were the cheapest i could find online for these products, and in parenthesis what the booklet in the subscribtion box says how much they cost
>light purple blush
$5.30 (8)
>green snail intensive cream
$17.50 (25)
>Prelab skin energy mask
$4 (4)
>no:hj mud mask
$3 (2)
>lip pallete sample kit
often given for free with makeup purchases (5)
>a blue breaded bracelet
free, as a thank you for "supporting mishibox"
I'm actually impressed that I got this for $20 (minus shipping)
too bad I'm meh about half the products they gave me though. looking forward to the next month. anyone else use beauty box subscriptions? I have friends that swear by Ipsy

I used to have a glossybox subscription but it was pretty useless most of the time and they often send out stuff that you can't use or have no need for. I got some hair lightener for blonde hair once despite filling in ginger as my hair colour in their survey and they send out a lot of foundation samples in some generic half-dark shade.

I'm cool toned/very pale and the foundation I currently use is by Lancome. When you're looking at colors they'll have a letter to specify if it's warm, neutral or cool. It's pricey so if you're looking for something drug store I also used to use the True Match foundation by Loreal which also has a selection of colors that are specifically cool toned.

Mine has an okay selection, nothing like that though. Mostly old holiday sets and palettes from the previous year, which are fine if it's something that doesn't go bad, like eyeshadow. I scored a Smashbox On the Rocks palette for ~10 last December (though it was a year old at that point). They always have tons of UD primer potion and OPI nail polish in discontinued colors for really cheap though. >What makeup do you wear daily (if any)?
lotion, false lashes, tinted chapstick, and blush
>(If you wear lolita or another jfash) What makeup do you wear when you get dressed up?
lotion, sometimes primer and powder foundation, false lashes, mascara, eye shadow, blush, setting powder, lip stain and tinted chapstick (none or minimal liner, I like a bright open eyed look for jfash)
>Favorite drugstore/cheap products?
Aveeno (lotion), Loreal (for mascara, cry-proof, adds length, comes off in little tubes), Burts Bees (lipstick/chapstick in their darkest colors), Ardell (accent lashes) and duo's dark adhesive (took me way too long to realize I should be using the dark one)
>Favorite mid to high end products?
MakeupForever powder foundation, because I am a fuzzy fuck and hate cream bases. Also their HD powder. For blush and shadow, I like a huge variety and prefer matte and mid-high end, otherwise anything goes.
>Favorite Asian products (of any price bracket)?
Tony moly and etude lip tints, but I like em the same as my other brands. I prefer to try asian blushes though for the weird colors and color correction. Suggestions on fun asian blush or lip products to try that can be ordered in the states would be much appreciated!

BB cream or foundation (depending on if i'm going to the store or work), brow pencil, brown eyeliner for tightlines, and mascara.

>(If you wear lolita or another jfash) What makeup do you wear when you get dressed up?
I usually do basic brown/pink eye makeup, add lip color and blush in addition to basic daily makeup.

>Favorite color drugstore/cheap products?
Not cheap, but Burt's Bees' BB cream is the only one i've been repurchasing. I have very pale and dry skin, so their shades work for me and the formula is very nice imo.

I'm legally blind and honestly, I do my makeup by feel. It looked really shitty at first but it only took me a few weeks to really get a handle on it, and I can do everything, including lipstick and eyeliner, without having my face 4 inches from the mirror now. Winged eyeliner is a no go though, since I can only line my lashline by feel. If you have somewhat decent vision, you might be able to get the hang of it eventually.

I just practiced a lot, and took pictures after each makeup application to examine once I could get my glasses back on.

None, it's a real weekend/after work thing for me. I generally keep my brows groomed, get 4 weekly lash extensions, wear tinted lip balm and try to keep my skin clear. I'm very into my multi step Asian skincare.

>(If you wear lolita or another jfash) What makeup do you wear when you get dressed up?
I wear japanese influenced gothic and gothic lolita. Generally BB cream, contour and highlight, smokey or natural eyeshadow, generally a dark or unnatural lipstick. I have gone off eyeliner and mascara because it kills the longevity of my extensions, but given that summer's well and truly here in Australia I might give my lashes a break and go back to my liner and mascara.

>Favorite drugstore/cheap products?
W7 eyeshadow palettes, some Revlon lipsticks, Maybelline BB cream, colourpop lippie stix, MBA lipsticks (in sample sizes because there's no way I'm getting through a whole tube of blue), Whoisshe lip composites (I bought the lip stax so they work out at $3ish each).

>Favorite mid to high end products?
Naked eyeshadow palette, Urban Decay lid primer, MAC prep n prime

>Favorite Asian products (of any price bracket)?
BB cream! I currently have Canmake and Sana ones which I love. I also had an awesome Shiseido foundation but did not use it enough to justify the $50 price tag vs my $15 BB creams. I like the cutesy packaging for a lot of the lip tint/balms, so tend to buy from Korean brands like Tonymoly, Etude House and Too cool for School

For a more natural look, go for lashes with a clear lash band. Individual/cluster lashes will look the most realistic, but if that's too much of a pain, go for half lashes
For more doll-eyed looks, you want pointier lashes and emphasis on the middle of the eyelid as well (a super pointed cat eye look won't make you eye look round). Dollywink is an obvious choice but there's also Diamond Lash. I usually wear both upper and lower lashes when I go all out in lolita

Help, help! I've damaged my face pretty bad right now and I don't know what's the best way to go about it. Please advice.

So I deiced to have a nice facemask night, and put on a Green Tea, smooth skin gel on my face. It's the kind that hardness in 20 minutes and you peel it off. I'm guessing it had some sort of alcohol in it becasue it left that nice tingaly very light burn feel?

And because I'm a genius, and I decided to wax the tiny little hairs off my top lip, like I do every month the same way I always do, with a little bit of Nair cream.

I wait like always, ten minutes, nothing's wrong. Then I wipe it off, and OW FUCK. I'm like why does it hurt so bad? I look in the mirror and notice it's a little red. Ok, no biggie, that always happens. I go do my thing and I smile and it hurts. I look in the mirror again, really get my nose up to to it, and shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. I've BURNED OFF the skin where the wax was. It's very light, but it's 100% no flesh. I can see the nerves.

SO! This is where I need help. Should I let the area just breath naturally for the night? Should I put lotion on it? Maybe some aloh? I don't want to keep putting chemicals on my face and then making another reaction where it permanently damages or stains the skin or something.

tldr; burned my stupid face. What do!?

For foundation either check a list of good drugstore makeup so you don't have to spend a tn if you don't like it. Or go into a Sephora and try their samples. If I had a ton of case to burn I'd get the Smashbox Photo Finish foundation.

I'm still a newbie, so I'm just fiddling around with different stuff and seeing what sticks at the moment. Right now, I usually just do a teeny little winged eyeliner, some lip stain and bb cream.
>>(If you wear lolita or another jfash) What makeup do you wear when you get dressed up?
Nothing too different? I wear himekaji and some classic, so I may occasionally play up the winged liner, put on some lashes, and a bit of lipstick in a bolder colour.
>>Favorite color drugstore/cheap products?
Goood, there's this one mascara by Maybelline, I think, that I adore. I can't for the life of me find it anymore, but it came in this purple tube and had angel wings on it. That stuff is amazing. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, I'd appreciate it if you told me the name. Can't remember for the life of me.
>>Favorite mid to high end products?
I'm loving Glossier at the moment. They have that fresh, minimal look that I really love. Too Faced is one of my favourites, too, at the moment, but I kind of feel like the quality of their products has kind of...faltered a bit since my last purchase?? I dunno, maybe it's just me.
>>Favorite Asian products (of any price bracket)?
I like Dollywink's lashes a lot thus far. They aren't super-duper over the top, which I appreciate. I haven't really dwelled too much in the realm of asian products. I'm dark-skinned so there really isn't much I can use makeup wise aside from maybe lip colour or eye/brow products. Speaking of which, I've been wanting to try that weird peel off lip stain! If anyone has recommendations on what brand I should go for, please let me know!

As for the peel off lip tint, the only one I know of is Berrisome. I own a bunch of the colors and really like them but its tricky if you wanna go for the gradient look. What's your skin type? Mine is oily and I use Lancôme's Teint Idole foundation (the kind in the bottle, not the stick) and I really like it. I'd say it's medium to full coverage, I think the stick version has higher coverage. I would definitely recommend going to your local Sephora or Ulta so you can actually try on the foundation because shopping online for foundation is tricky.
Make sure you get something good to apply your foundation with as well. A good brush can make durgstore foundation look amazing. I love my Beauty Blender (using a damp sponge is also the best method for oily skin) but I think most people use brushes. If you're on a budget, people really like the RealTechniques Foundation Brush 1402.
For eyeliner, I've been using L'Oreal's Infallible mechanical pencil eyeliner since middle school and it's my favorite. Not good if you wanna do winged eyeliner or anything though

>(If you wear lolita or another jfash) What makeup do you wear when you get dressed up?
I can only do one type of makeup since I have very distinct features and it took me forever to learn how to enhance them with makeup.
>Favorite color drugstore/cheap products?
Innisfree is my #1 brand. I like most of their products, mainly because the ingredient list is usually really nice and free of filler ingredients.
>Favorite mid to high end products?
I used to use some nice mid-level makeup but honestly most of it is too overpriced for what it does and the ingredients aren't even that good.
>Favorite Asian products (of any price bracket)?
Innisfree's eye primer, matte eyeshadow, auto-eyebrow pencil and lip tints. Heard good things about the eco perfect sunscreen or whatever but haven't tried it myself. Missha's brow pencils, the basic cheapy ones are good.
Asian sunscreens are really nice but I just don't trust them ever since I got a tan holidaying near the Arctic fucking Circle this summer. Granted it's barely noticeable, but if it's this bad here I can't imagine how bad it'd be in the Mediterranean, or South Korea.

Use a lip scrub before hand!
I have it and my only complaint is that it's got a weird effect on my lips that it doesn't shimmer at first and then all I see is the gold when it does dry. So when the liquid drys on my lips, it becomes a nude color (guess I have mauve colored lips?!) so it just looks like I have gold flakes all over.
So, definitely check swatches before buying.

Missha BB cream in #13 and mascara
This BB cream is my holy grail color and consistency. I tried the cushion version, but it was so greasy compared to the tube/pump version, so I went back to my old fave.

It does wash me out a little so I am going to try to incorporate a cream blush that's subtle. I'm waiting on pic related from an Amazon seller. I hope it's not greasy like the BB cushion...

I will buy cheap lashes online forever. I consider Missha to be pretty inexpensive. As for local drugstore stuff, I like the lash blast waterproof mascaras. They are cheap and effective as long as they don't dry out.
>Favorite mid to high end products?
I love my Naked 3 Palette and my Kevyn Aucoin contour powder. The pinks and shimmers range in Naked 3 are perfect for jfash and the contour powder is cool/neutral enough for pale skin. I really don't understand the need for western brands to look orange/yellow.

Any recommendations? I have quite a few DMs and Douglas in the near. I believe ive seen a Rossman who did carry BB cream in a non makeup aisle but they were out of the paler colors.

Stage makeup is meant to be exaggerated so that the face is still readable to audience sitting far away. Stage brands come in more unusual colors and have very dense pigments and are formulated to be able to resist lots of sweat and moisture and paint over skin as well as latex and foam.

Expensive Sephora brands are meant for everyday and elegant makeup that still seems natural.

Looking for some critique/advice on my eye makeup with hooded lids and eyebrows.

I've been following Wayne Goss' tutorial for hooded eyes with the Too Faced Peach Palette but I don't feel like I'm quite there yet. The colors look really bold in person and I feel like a goober when I go out because I normally wear just a single color all over my lids. As for the brows, I've been using a NYX brow gel in Blonde and I think it's a nice step up from my almost transparent brows. I'm trying to keep those simple and avoiding the Instagram trends at all costs.

Are there any techniques out there for an everyday look or do I have to wear this "two-toned cat eye" every day for eyeshadow to be visible? Any YouTube videos I should refer to? Better brushes? I'm all ears!

Your eyes don't seem terribly hooded. I think it looks nice! I sometimes try to make a "fake" crease with a medium/dark color with my Naked eyeshadows in a matte brown color. Perhaps extend the color up a bit as well?

I also do a sharper, slightly thinner, and darker brow than you to try to open up my eyes a little (didn't read this anywhere, ymmv.) I think you run the risk of making the hood more apparent but I like the look on me. If you bring the eyeshadow up more, it might be okay.

Btw, your eyelashes are gorgeous, what mascara are you using?

Thanks! I think I need a better blending brush. I use a Sonia Kashuk one but it's very stiff. I've read that Urban Decay makes the best brushes but I'm kind of cheap and want to try an e.l.f. Studio one instead.

I do the folded tissue trick (just like you would use tape) and the eyeshadow is a nice angle but when I blend it out it goes higher than anticipated and turns into a blob. Should I be applying it lower than desired?

Thank you as well! I've been trying to bring the shadow up but I'm not used to so much color so it ends up getting blending out. I've seen the technique of making a fake crease but I thought it was for more of the Instagram eye makeup. I'll play around with some nude/brown colors and see if that helps! As for eyebrows, I've read that if your eyebrows are too thin then it leaves a lot of "empty canvas" unless you cover your entire lid with shadow. My brows don't have much shape but I've been planning on going to Sephora and asking for some eyebrow samples/advice.

I wear 2 coats Urban Decay's Perversion mascara! The formula is very wet and often times I get some on my eyelid if I'm being sloppy but other than that I really like it! It's the first mascara I've purchased a full sized tube of.

It bolds the lash line and fills the gaps between lashes (my lashes and falsies are near-black, if they were lighter I might search for a brown adhesive). I can skip top liner and tight-lining entirely, which makes makeup removal a breeze. No reason to go back to clear unless I'm using light lashes, bottom lashes, or gluing gems to my face.

Did anyone else buy into the Sweet Peach hype? I purchased the eyeshadow palette from Ulta because I had a coupon and rewards points and the blush from the Too Faced website. My orders came in on time but I know a lot of people didn't so the company emailed everyone a 40% coupon code good for an entire order. I got 3 lip oils (2 for my sister) and the Primed and Poreless powder and to my surprise they sent a Sweet Peach makeup bag as a little freebie! It's not the same as the one on release night (I believe that one was velour) but I am excited regardless.

Even though they bit off more than they could chew by assuring everyone would get their orders by Christmas Eve, I think Too Faced did the right thing by emailing everyone a coupon. Sure, they could've refunded people the cost of shipping but they could have also done nothing at all. After all the heat they were under this past year from being bought out by Estee Lauder (who tests on animals) to releasing low quality/lackluster products, I feel like they're trying to set things straight now.

Do you use the little puff applicator that came with it? I tried using that but I didn't feel like any product was being picked up so I used a large powder brush but I think that left me looking a bit more powdery.

As for the lip oil, it's pretty okay. Pic related is my bare lips, what the color looks like upon first application, and after a few hours. To be fair, I did eat so maybe that caused it to wear off faster than normal. The consistency is not sticky though and my lips felt hydrated for the most part so I do like that.

I think it depends what sort of lashes you have. If you have lashes that curl easily like my friend's, better than sex is probably really good. But if your lashes are like mine and are stubborn even after 4-5 pumps of your trusty eyelash curler, better than sex has a tendency to weigh them down, get clumpy and tends to fall out onto your lower lid.

I like benefit's 'It's real' mascara personally. It definitely adds volume to my shitty thin lashes and makes me look like i have something. It also doesn't weigh down on my curled eyelashes.

Honestly though, if your eyelashes aren't 'verge of none and takes 15 minutes to get them to look like anything' like mine, maybe it will work though.

Probably important to mention that I have very pale skin and dark hair, and I'll be wearing an ash blonde wig. I've used techniques with foundation in the past to lighten my brows for cosplaying blonde characters, but I know what works for cosplay does not apply to lolita in most cases.

You should be able to do this anywhere where there's testers available. I have pretty oily acne prone skin a well, but if you know what products you need and how to apply them it all becomes a bit easier. First off if you're applying foundation use a beauty blender or a sponge as it helps it have more of a matte finish. You want to use a foundation that won't increase oil, so it has to be oil free. I recommend Estee Lauder's Double Wear, it's been amazing for me and doesn't cause break outs and looks natural. But it's also full coverage. I don't use BB or CC creams but you could try one of those. The right primer is key too, I recommend Poreless Primer by Benefit. Lastly, you want to set your makeup I use Urban Decay's De-Slick spray and it works like a charm. You can also use BareMinerals Powder Veil.

Honestly, I find testers disgusting. I would never put them in my face because there is rarely anything to clean your face and the product with and even then there is always going to be people who don't care about sanitary. I have never seen someone actually putting make up on with testers. You could even get a infection of some sorts.

How do you store your makeup brushes? I don't have enough counter space to store them (and am kind of grossed out by having them bare-headed in the same room as the toilet), but I also don't own a fancy brush roll with individual slots for each brush. I've been keeping them in their original sleeves/packaging, but it's a hassle to shimmy each brush out every time I want to use it. Would throwing them all into a cosmetic bag like pic related be sanitary? I wash the brushes nearly each application, but sometimes I go a use or two between washes.

I've seen brushes stored in old fashion straw dispensers and that seems pretty sanitary and convenient. I'm not sure where you'd find one though.

The only thing I'd be worried about storing brushes in a bag is there might be potential bacterial growth if they're still damp. Not sure if that's actually plausible but just my two cents.

1. Skincare routine
2. Primer (I'm out right now and on the market for a new one)
3. UD Primer Potion for eyes
4. Makeup Forever HD Foundation
5. Sephora Brand pressed bronzer trio to contour and highlight
6. Maybelliene blush (I don't even know which one it is desu)
7. Benefit What's Up luminous highlighter stick for sparkling highlights
8. Bare Minerals Mineral Veil setting powder
9. Eye shadow - I like Too Faced's chocolate palette, have a few Estee Lauder and Nyx palettes too along with some buxom singles
10. Eye Liner - Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner pen, absolutely love it
11. Mascara - UD Perversion or Buxom's, I have a CoverGirl one I use when traveling so I don't lose a more expensive one
12. Lips - usually pretty boring here, anything ranging from Burt's Bees tinted balms to Buxom or Bite matte lipsticks

>Favorite mid-high end products?
Huuuge fan of YSL's cosmetics, I've sampled their foundation and it's absolutely gorgeous, their lipsticks are beautiful too. Aside from that I draw from a ton of brands.

>Favorite Asian products?
I use Asian skincare moreso than cosmetics. Darker olive tone skin means their creams are often pale on me and I don't bother with other stuff because there are plenty of great Western brands. I'd say Boscia and REN's skincare lines are fantastic. TONYMOLY has wonderful, budget stuff with adorable packaging!

>Makeup trends
I love a strong eyebrow, but I wish people would go for more natural looking ones. They're getting a bit ridiculous lmao. Also I don't get cut creases, just really lackluster to me aesthetically.

If you have a favorite setting spray or primer for a full face, PLEASE recommend/let me know. I need one!

Tried this the other day. It is soooo good. I fucking love it. The sponge puff is really nice too. Just barely dab it in the cushion because there is a lot of product in there. Just dot what you picked up on your cheeks, forehead, and lightly on your nose and chin then go back over all that with the cushion and it blends so freaking nice. The coverage is medium which I am completely fine with. I like my freckles to show through, but to have my redness covered up. This does a really good job at that. Also got their new Studio Master Concealer and this is really good too. Just put a little on the back of your hand and let it warm up and apply with a concealer brush. DO NOT apply directly to your face. It is very lightweight for something so thick feeling and it doesn't crease at all.

Sooooo happy with my purchases. I would say these are good for dry skin as well which I have, but as always do moisturize and prime before putting on makeup as usual.

I've found the L’Oreal Infallible fixing mist is really good, it far exceeded my expectations for a drugstore setting spray. Mist is fine with a wide spray, sets eyeshadow and face products for a good 8+ hours. Doesn't really mattify if that's what you're looking for though, I'd say it has no positive or negative effect on oil control.

I didn't realize it was limited edition until it was already out of stock and sort of fell into the hype train once it was announced that an entire collection was going to be released. The morning of the release I had a very important final to study for and I spent at least 3 hours looking online for stuff to add to my order to get free shipping, looking at color swatches, refreshing the page to see if the items were available yet, etc.

A brush would have been a nice touch but yeah no big deal. I don't think any of their other palettes come with brushes so I wasn't expecting anything extra there.

>what makeup do you wear daily (if any)
KVD foundation in L42- I'm super pale but normally go a shade or so lighter. a peachy blush by mac (name rubbed off) sugarpill eyeshadows used for brows and highlight is my 'base'.
I always do my eyes different but lately I love using weird colour liquid lipsticks for liner, and putting the same colour on my lips. . Sometimes I add really thick pointy liner.
>(if you wear lolita or another jfash) what makeup do you wear when you get dressed up?
Pretty much the same, but I stick to more subtle colors and make the liner a bit thiner. I wear gothic and imo darker style makeup doesn't clash too badly
>Favorite drugstore/cheap products?
NYX matte lipcreams! They are the best thing ever. Elf brushes. Also in the UK makeup revolution have amazing cheap palettes, I have the one that is a dupe for limecrim's venus and I use it daily
>Favorite mid to high end products?
KVD foundation, eyeliner and liquid lipstick. All of benefit's mascaras that I've tried are great. My favorite lipstick is Ellis Faas 'Ellis red' the perfect blood red color.
Sugarpill are my favorite brand forever
>Makeup trends you like/dislike
I have to agree with everyone else in this thread, I HATE the whole insta-hoe/baddie trend. Especially the thick gradient brows and eye looks with excessive glitter. I honestly don't even like highlighter but I wear it anyway because the first time I tried it I got so many compliments lmao.
I hate super-white goth makeup, like the ben nye clown makeup shit. I wear lighter foundation myself, but stark white looks so costumey when paired with all black makeup and clothes.
I like no eyebrows looks because I have bad taste

I NEVER put testers on my face. I have no idea whose touched them before me and the thought of putting mystery germs onto my face makes me gag. I've found I've just had to test different things and find out what works and what doesn't.
If I want to test a colour of something (especially lipstick and eyeshadow) that's pretty different from what I usually wear, I buy something cheap from the drugstore to get an idea of what it looks like on me before I sink the money into a higher end product. That's just me though, maybe other people have better ideas.

I will say that I'm not that experienced with lip products so idk if the amount of time it lasted is typical of products like that. I'm not one to reapply makeup because once I'm home, I'm home; however, reapplying the lip oil doesn't seem like that much of a chore. All in all, I'd wait until you accumulate Ulta points or when Too Faced releases a coupon. The colors aren't that exclusive and I feel like Etude House had a collection with very similar colors and application.

I read the highlight/blush was a letdown which is a shame because all the pre-release videos had stellar feedback on it.

Really depends on the character specifically.. But generally thinner, spread-out lashes work for cute characters, and lashes cut at an angle (shorter on the inner corner, longer towards the outer corner) work for sexy characters.
You don't really need a special lash for each character (exceptions apply), a lot of lash companies put out sets that contain a wide variety that'll cover most characters you'd ever need.

Best glue I've used so far was diamond lash glue. Has a wand so u can manually apply it rather than squirt it around.
Eyeliner I like Kat Von D tattoo liner or dolly wink, they don't seem to budge after application at all.

I want to start using bb cream or cc cream to hide acne scars and because my pores are really large for some reason. The only one I used a long time ago was a maybelline one that barely hides anything, which brands would you recommend? I looked at sephora a bit the other day but since a lot of things are on sales some products were sold out and I couldn't test anything.

Coming from someone who buys BB creams to hide pores and other blemishes, here's what I've gotten before:

>Naturactor
Has an entire series and covers everything like nothing else I've tried but may not be budget friendly for daily use if you're using every product.

>Holika Holika
Cheaper and they have a specialty line called "Sweet Cotton Pore Cover" that comes in a BB cream and a powder. I've used the BB cream and it's so smooth going on and covers well.

>PeriPera
This got recommended to me here actually for how well it covers. However, I don't know if they still sell the line I purchased which was "I Love BB"

The waterproof kind. Literally every brand that makes mascara also makes a waterproof formula.

And also one that's not prone to flaking for extra bonus holy grail.

I have a birthmark on my eyelid and while it's not really visible normally, when I'm under the weather it swells and makes my eyelid sag somewhat. It sucks, but little asymmetries give faces personality, and I can use eyeliner to make it less obvious.

I guess this is where a face paint question would best fit. Which letter number combo do you think would work best?
