Where do you gulls look for tights (or OTKs) in unusual colors? I'm looking for lace or subtly patterned tights to match an unusual shade of pink blouse and I'm coming up blank. Has anyone had luck dyeing tights? What materials/dyes have you found work best?

>> No.9322659

>>9322641
You could try dyeing tights with iDye Poly, but it might be more of a fight than it's worth. I'll tell you what I do to try to match odd colors, though. I generally get a pair of solid color tights from We Love Colors. They come in an incredible amount of shades and even are available in plus size and tall size. Then I find a pair of lace crochet tights in a neutral shade (usually off white but sometimes black) to layer over the solid tights. If you're in the US, I've had luck getting nice crochet tights at Target. I get a ton of compliments every time I wear this combination.

Would you believe that I've already looked and they don't have a shade close (I'm looking for a sort of "dusty rose")? I like your idea though. If I can find a suitable pair of solid colored tights I have a pair of Merona (aka Target) OTKs in off white that will be perfect.

Just curious about other people's practices: when you sell something on LM, at what point do you leave feedback? As soon as you've shipped, once it arrives, after the buyer has left you feedback? I see a lot of people complain about a lack of feedback from buyers, but I've never had that problem and I always wait to leave any feedback until after the buyer has left some for me. I'm reposting what I remember other people have discussed on cgl, haven't actually tried any of these (yet):

Hair dryer/heat gun for things like crinkled pleather, it makes them soft so that you can sort of smooth them out again.

If it's small, tiny scratches and you don't really mind, fill them in with a matching nail polish.

If a chunk of the leather is actually missing, you'll need a leather repair kit, like the ones used for upholstery (they're usually used to fix car seats, sofas or the like). They don't really come in pastels, though. I want to suggest Angelus leather paint, but usually it's difficult to colour match a fixed up patch to the original colour, you may end up having to repaint the whole shoe.

Hope that gave you some ideas at least, good luck.

>> No.9323586

Yes, a plain tank top is ok, although watch out for any funny shapes (eg a second "bib" created by the neckline of your tank top) or your underarm fat spilling out. Best would be a properly fitting skin-coloured tank top with a t-shirt bra under, so that no weird lines are showing.

They're generally more popular under jsks than over skirts, as the ones with looser weave tend to be more comfy than solid cotton blouses in warmer weather.

Salty but also genuinely curious, why do people with new accounts/no feedback on LM always pay via echeck instead of regular paypal transfer? This has happened to be three times now after invoicing new buyers, it's irritating for me because it takes a week to clear payment, and I'm sure it's irritating for the buyers too, as they have to wait for payment to clear before I ship the item out.

I have a friend with a god-tier wardrobe and I really want her to let me film her doing a wardrobe video for January, but she's hesitant because she's afraid of getting shat on because it's so massive. We're talking over 400 dresses/skirts, so I'm pretty sure it would be the biggest lolita wardrobe ever displayed online. Is her fear legitimate or will she probably be fine?

People will be jealous, and they'll be shitty about it. I'm afraid I can't offer much consolation, I understand her hesitation about it and if she feels she won't be able to handle the inevitable shit flinging (which will probably be mostly anonymous) it's probably best to not go through with it, but I will say that's a wardrobe video I'd be very interested to see.
Can I ask what style/s she wears? Is her wardrobe generally cohesive? Does she wear the style daily? I'm honestly curious.

Something like $900 for the full Masquerade Theater set in red after overseas shipping/fees back when it was one of AatP's most sought after prints. I don't regret it since at the time the red OP alone was going for $650-$750 in the rare event it even appeared and I ended up getting an amazing trade out of it, but it's kind of irritating to see it at like $400-$500 now when it wasn't even rereleased or anything. It's less that I care that I paid so much and more that it annoys me how underrated that print is these days.

She mostly wears gothic, classic, hime, and old school. She wears lolita pretty much every day unless she's doing something where it would be a bad idea. Her wardrobe is all over the place in terms of style because she's been a lolita for like 10 years and won't get rid of anything she's super attached to. As a result, she has a lot of "wardrobes within the wardrobe", if that makes any sense. For instance, she has like 30+ OTT sweet dresses from her AP clone phase that she wears every now and then, but mostly keeps for sentimental purposes. Same with pirate and sailor stuff. She organizes it in a way that looks nice, but it kind of feels more like an exhibit of all the different styles and the forms they've taken over the years. That's part of why I want to help her do a wardrobe video so bad, it's like going through a real life lolita archive.

>>9325574
I'm not sure whether or not it would be considered a shopping/hoarding addiction. She has the space and money, so it's not problematic, but she shops all the time and refuses to get rid of anything if there's any sentimental value attached to it at all.

Holy. I thought I was the only one trying this. Honestly would really love to see the video just to see how she organises and keeps track of 400 dresses/skirts (currently at like 100+ and already losing track of all the matching accessories/detachables, plus all the different things that can be cross-styled).

Not gonna lie though, put one foot wrong and she/you will probably be bitched at for the silliest things, like not using a $4000 DSLR to shoot an expensive wardrobe, the background not being nice enough/using her bed as the background, wondering how anyone can wear 400 dresses if there's only 52 weekends in a year, etc etc.

I really, really want to see her wardrobe layout though. Good luck with shooting it (if you decide to go ahead).

I'm assuming you are within most brand measurements for waist since you only specified breasts are plus sized?

My two cents is I would only bother with a binder for the purpose of flattening your chest for ouji if that is your preference. As a 32G I have discovered that a chest binder is not going to give you the look you want underneath dresses, they will end up looking empty around the bust as they are meant for someone with some kind of bust curvature which a binder flattens best it can.

Is anyone familiar with this storenvy shop? Cats Tea Party in grey for $400 seems to good to be true

https://www.storenvy.com/stores/934106-lolita-closet-cleaning

>> No.9326503

On lacemarket, if you make an offer lower than the asking price, how do you usually go about it? How much lower than the asking price will go you, and how do you determine what price to offer? Do you approach people who don't have the "make an offer" option enabled? If you're a seller, what will make you consider an offer or reject it?

Personally, if I want to make an offer, I'll put it on my watchlist, see if the auction expires and then send a message. I've had people message me before my first time listing an item expires and I was kind of put off by that. I wanted to see if someone would pay my asking price before I took an offer. Am I being too passive with my offers/petty with accepting them?

I've been approached before auctions end by people wanting like $75-$100 off and free shipping... That to me is very off putting and I generally won't even respond. I have to agree with this though, while it's perfectly ok to make ero lolita videos, using such themed material to promote a shop selling clothings of a style with an unfortunately controversial name, it's not the best connection for anyone to make. I just offer what I offer and almost always the seller will accept or there will be some very minimal back and forth. I have no qualms lowballing and then working my way up, it's a site for secondhand clothes, I enjoy haggling. I will definitely make an offer even if the make an offer option is not enabled, but I don't lowball on those offers. There have only been a handful of cases where I've not tried to get a lower price than what was already listed or at least tried to get free shipping.

For the record I typically only lowball real hard on items that are already marked up a lot compared to the same items in similar condition on the secondhand markets.

That's the first time I hear someone call him a crap SS anon, I don't know where you heard this info?
Or did you have a bad experience with him yourself?

I personally never had any problems with Martin, bought from him several times without any problems at all.
When I want to join reservations he is always very quick to respond and was able to get my dresses on all the occasions.
He sometimes works out more expensive than other SS but he is very good with reservations.
When I ordered in stock stuff, he shipped very quickly and it arrived very quickly.
I never need to pay customs fees (eurofag) on clobba orders either.
One time I had joined a (made to order) shoes group order which took really long (over a year) but he was very apologetic and it wasn't his fault the factory took forever to make them.
He even offered me a full refund but I decided to wait for the shoes.
And that worked out really well in the end.

The only bad thing I did once read (on RC) was that a girl (her name is Cadence I think, it's a long time ago but I have good memory) asked for sizing advice on a Krad dress, so Clobba passed that message on to Krad and they gave Clobba the advice, he passed that on to the girl.
She then ordered the dress.
When it arrived it was too small.
Turns out they recommended the wrong size and when she told him it didn't fit, he contacted Krad about it to ask why they recommended the wrong size.
Krad's answer was pretty much a suggestion that it was the girls own fault, she measured wrong and that she should lose weight.
She was pretty angry with Martin/Clobba in the end.
Not sure what happened after that, I don't know if she was allowed to send the dress back and I don't know if she ever got a refund.
Thant's all I know, the only negative thing I ever heard about Clobba.

Gulls how should i tell this unstable girl who considers me her "friend" in my comm to leave me alone?

She's really mentally unstable (attempted suicide several times, changes bf every month or so, openly talk about her sex life which makes me feel uneasy especially since she is into ddlg which grosses me out) and I just don't want anything to do with her anymore.
I tried to be her friend at first, then she proceeded to make me uncomfortable (asking me out when she still had a boyfriend, saying how she has threesomes super casually), then told me i was one of her best friends despite meeting me twice and talking to me only a tiny bit online, then went apeshit saying i was "so cold" and "egoistical" and a "leech"(??) and how she always had to make the first move/come to me.
Then a few months later she came back, apologized and I told her that we should just "forget about it" and now she's back and think of me as a friend

She's friend with all the popular girls in the comm and I'm affraid she'll talk shit behind my back to them.
