Anybody have experience with wearing thermal undergarments under a coord? I'm considering getting a heattech shirt from Uniqlo to wear under a blouse so I don't have to butcher my outfits with a heavy coat.

Of all the wacky shit AP are releasing right now, this one is the one I like the most.

Why is AP the most popular brand?
Can another brand ever become more popular than AP?

>> No.9313029

I do all the time. With thermal leggings/underclothes and warm bloomers I can wear my Roland coat until it's around -10C (but I have a pretty high tolerance for cold)

If it's still too cold for you, you don't even need to buy a lolita coat. Some normie wool coats could look cute with lolita.

Baby were more popular than AP in the early-mid 00s, and Meta were the most popular in the west for a short while by virtue of being the only brand that shipped abroad. Give it another few years and another brand might take over but right now none of the other major brands are doing much original stuff.

>> No.9313059

>>9313025
Agreeing with >>9313055, but also AP is way more likely to keep up on current trends and pander to whats popular at the moment. (Mermaids, crosses, space....etc.) Almost every new release they have seems to be referencing to some big current trend.

>> No.9313061

>>9312997

The only issue I've had is that some places can be pretty well-heated, you won't be able to take your coat off like everyone else and will end up sweating into your burando (that, or attempt redressing yourself in the bathroom, if you can). So long as you keep an eye out not to wear heattech to those places though, you should be fine.

>> No.9313064

>>9313061
I have this issue too, I don't even wear thermals, just thin long-sleeved T-shirts, but if you're layering so you can wear your coord outside without a coat or jacket you're going to sweat like a pig when you get into a café. Removable layers are key.

Last time I went out I wore 2 thermal shirts, blouse, jsk, knitted bolero, 2 pair of wool tights, 1 pair of 200 den tights, wool "leggings" that only goes halfway down your thighs, bloomers, Vagabond winter boots, F+F winter coat, velvet cape + fur collar, scarf wrapped around my head and neck, and a big fur stole wrapped as a scarf to top it of. Kokokim is her brand. The prices were high, a lot of the designs were heavily inspired by other brands she modeled for, and the sizing was tiny. U is less than 5ft tall and probably is 80-60 or smaller in terms of measurement, so even though Japanese people are small, a lot of her stuff fit only girls that were junior-high sized.

Or even better, are there any kind gulls who own a Dreamholic wig in Honey Tea / Chocolate / Maple Syrup who can take a picture of it in neutral outdoor lighting?

Lolibrary's/brand's own measurements are sometimes really off so it really helps to have a flat measure to check. >Implying design replicas aren't different from print replicas

Let's take an example like mm design replicas. They're always shit looking and extremely poor quality. But if someone made a very good quality design replica or interpretation (not that I think anyone would due to time skill and cost), there likely would not be a huge issue because designs that are not artwork, even if they're unique to a fashion style, are not something that can easily be copyrighted and are considered "generic".

Hence why there's not as much of an issue with say buying bags, rocking horse shoes, tp, etc unless that product has the logo or artwork of a brand or is otherwise attempting to pass off as a brand that it is not regardless of it's from fast fashion or high street.

This discussion has been had many times you fucking faggots.

The word you're looking for is patent not copyright. A brand and design is always copyrighted regardless. The method of creation is never copyrighted. If you're talking about an outright replica copy of someone else work then you're essentially talking about plagiarism which is an ethical concern and has big consequences for professionals. Plagiarism and replicas are career suicide but making the same type of item is not.

I don't think you can even patent apparel. Maybe you can with the fabric creations or some fabrics are protected under national identity terms but patterns are too generic.

If it's a dream dress I'm not actively wearing, I'd try to find a way to use it somehow. For dresses that don't fit (in terms of sizing or style), maybe some alterations could solve that. For dresses that I love but really don't fit my style anymore, I do keep a few around to dress my mannequin with, I think the room looks happier with my dream dress on my mannequin, so I don't see anything different than buying a painting or a nice statue to decorate with.

If I can't find a use for the dress, not even as room deco, then it's probably time to do one last commemorative photoshoot, then pack the dress up and sell them off (to be fair, sometimes after the photoshoot I'd change my mind about the dress, haha). The second one is just weird. The bangs are just horrible and it feels so plastic and sticky like when hair has been styled with tons of hairspray, it's unbearable.
Then i decided to get another one to see if it was just a lone case of bad wig and reserved another one. Two months after I reserved, they announced in their facebook the wigs were available so I was waiting for my "shipping notification". Instead, a week later, they sent me a message saying the wig I reserved was sold out even though I reserved two months before...
I tried contacting them for around a week asking for a refund. I sent messages through paypal, facebook, normal email and finally got an answer when I messaged by storenvy and opened a pp claim. I really don't recommend them as a seller...

Wrote a massive post about this but deleted it by accident. Most of the stuff about changing trends isn't that important and easy to find out for yourself desu- just stick to what you like. Oldschool got big again and AP are taking influence from larme now instead of gyaru/himegyaru, decora, fairy kei or creepy cute.

Replicas are really hated now, not tolerated like they were back then, so don't buy them. Sugary Carnival is only worth $150. Angelic Pretty have started doing repeated rounds of MTOs and re-releases for popular prints to try to combat scalpers, most infamously with Holy Lantern getting made into the Holy Hell not Again meme (can't find the pic now).

Livejournal is dead so people sell through Lacemarket and Facebook groups rather than the comm sales, and post to Closet of Frills on Facebook rather than daily-lolita. For people that don't want to post pics in a Facebook group attached to their real name, options are limited - Tumblr was the biggest platform for ages but is slowly dying, becoming less popular due to porn and ageplay blogs reblogging lolitas' stuff with lewd captions. Lookbook was a thing for a while but is no longer popular. Instagram is kind of popular and Japanese lolitas use it but loses out a bit because it's so easy for normies to find you in the tags. Amino just started but is full of itas and newbs. Lacebook was a bit of a failure.

The thing about replica PRINTS is that the print is really obvious. And with replicas there's always some detail like wrong lace, wrong placement, wrong ribbons being used, etc that makes it pretty obvious when someone is wearing a replica. I wouldn't say people are hypocrites going after print replicas and not shoe replicas, just that print replicas are much, much easier to spot and therefore it's much easier to get an internet lynch mob to go after them.

Non print replicas, on the other hand. The little differences that, in a print replica just means lack of attention to detail, now means the shoe is not 100% a copy of another shoe, especially when replica doesn't slap a fake brand logo on either. It's also really easy for someone to accidentally design shoes with similar combinations as other things that had been done before, there's only so many things you can do to pleather shoes. So it's much, much harder for people to prove that someone is wearing non-print replicas and get a proper lynch mob going after them.

What you're really seeing is the combined effect from both sides, the girls who get their pitchforks out for print replicas could be equally passionate about non print replicas, it's just a smaller effect as not everyone is convinced the non print is replicas.

The other side, the side that doesn't hate replicas, know better than to make trouble for themselves wearing print replicas, so they just quietly stock up on "taobao purses" and "Bodyline shoes". It's the one area where they know they can get away with it, so they'll freely have a discussion about it knowing that they won't get lynched as hard if they say they bought a pair of shoes not realising it's meant to copy some brand shoes.

Bodyline fans are in a whole different category. Quality not the same as burando? Time to bitch about elitist brandwhores. Mr Yan is a creep? Start petition to get a body pillow made of him. Shoes are replicas? They don't care, they really don't.

The prints are copyrighted because it's considered artwork. If you copy the design (cut, drape, shape of clothing/bags/shoes), that's just called a trend in fashion, and it's how the industry works. Clothing itself cannot be copyrighted because it has a function associated. Brands like IW and Meta wouldn't be able to exist if design alone was copyrightable because they came later than AP and Baby.

As another anon said, too, lolita brands themselves rip off designs from legit fashion brands. Baby made poor replicas of the Fluevog Elizabeth, and nobody really cares.

lol, anon. You met a bunch of hypocrites. Congrats. If you can find proof of their fake shoes and out them to cgl, you can witness some consistency firsthand as cgl hangs them up and crucifies them. Meantime, maybe direct your frustrations back at them or cut ties with them altogether instead of ranting at us when the rest of us have been pretty consistent about replicas. I haven't even met a lolita who owns replica brand shoes, there's so many cute shoes out there there's not much point to them.

Besides, gulls have tried pushing for banning non print replicas, it mostly ended up a mess. Some noob was calling Dream of Lolita's moon-cloud bag a replica because it reminded them of AP's drippy moon bag. Every shoes with criss cross strap was a replica of AP teaparties, so basically 70% of IW, Baby and AP shoes need to be banned. So many noobs simply crying replica as soon as one item pops that kind of sort of reminds them of another item they vaguely saw once and don't remember well. You'd spend way more time trying to explain how this or that is or isn't a replica, let alone try to figure out if someone was indeed wearing a replica or not, and if you have any energy left you can lynch them after that.

The reason I brought this up at all was because there is another thread right now discussing how replica shoes are fine. That also seems to be the predominant opinion in this thread. Not seeing any pitchforks.

Does anyone have experience with their Moitie screen printed items peeling, specifically ruins cathedral? I have a dress that's peeling in the places where the print is thin and leaving behind grey color. The dress isn't that old and hasn't been worn much but it's worrying being able to peel small portions of the print off. The grey kind of adds to the distressed aesthetics but if it starts spreading it would really affect the look.

From some of the worn pictures I found online it might be a common problem, or intentional with this dress but I can't tell for sure because the pictures aren't detailed enough.

I think the lolita market is a little over saturated atm with ap releasing prints every week, but at the same time jan and dec have been my months for finding bargains, so I'm not really surprised if sales are slower to move.

You might try promoting them on whatever social media you have. There's a possibility that some weeb following you on tumblr/insta/amimo would jump at the excuse to buy a real kawaii loli dress from you or something.

An apron skirt and socks for myself, and the british motif dress and matching socks for a friend. Here's to hoping an invoice soon. There were quite a few good deals but I checked out in a hurry.

That's really weird, I own a lot of Moitie and that's never happened to me. Now I'm really concerned about it. Do you live in a hot climate?

Poor baby, guess you'll have to write this one as a wash and catch another release out of the literal hundreds that does flatter petite figures. Wow.
