Generally speaking, bodyline is a great example of dresses with shitty waist bows, and a lot of newbies think that they can use the bow on their head.

Different anon but i've literally never seen an instance where "tasteful cleavage" has ever been accepted in lolita. If it's THAT heavily inspired by rococo it's more history wear than anything else. I really hope it's just one anon trolling with these responses. The general consensus was always that it was inspired by victorian childrens clothing. It unfortunately attracts a lot of itas and generally cringey people who like to combine their shitty anime with the fashion. On the other hand, there is a good handful of really nice experienced people there. It's also more active and coherent than FB groups.

There's nothing wrong with making your own clothes. The old school harajuku bridge meetup was actually girls making their own stuff and trading things with friends.

The only issue is that you have to be prepared to invest more time in it than just operating a sewing machine on a piece of curtain cutoff. You see in places like Harajuku many of the small brand store owners spent a year or two at a fashion college before starting their own brands. Getting a good fabric hookup is part of the process too.

If you have good pics they'll put you on the front page and you'll get at least 150 likes and a couple of comments. Holy shit there was a tutorial posted here a while back to laugh at where someone used shaving cream and glue. It was awful.
