Here are the two I was referring to:
Youmu: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.5-c.w4002-10718482235.60.LEa99f&id=18775791799

I've attached a recent costest I did for Youmu and, as you can see, the photos Nekocos uses are pretty accurate. The material feels substantial and definitely thicker than the first one I bought on Taobao.

Some time ago, I got myself this cute outfit. It turned out to be incredibly comfortable to wear. Matching shoes should be arriving soon. This was mainly a wig test. A friend let me borrow her Mamizou wig for an upcoming event.

I also do normal anime crossplays. We are planning a Love Live Sunshine group.

Sissies do it for sex/their fetish. Usually they're more concerned with something that's really girly and frilly to clash with their manliness, sometimes there's other fetishy elements involved (collars, harnesses, latex, etc.)
Crossdressers legitimately want to pass for a female temporarily, usually just for costuming.
(and then transwomen wants to pass for a female legitimately, usually seeking hormones/surgery for a permanent change)

Sissy
example >>9253899
>gets off to being in a dress (usually tied to humiliation)
>doesnt care for the quality of the dress/costume
>the more frills/tacky/gaudy it is the better/more embarrassing
>easy to spot since they usually look like shit

Crossdresser
example >>9253580
>wants to wear female clothes and pass as female temporarily
>has legitimate interest in the costume/fashion they're wearing
>wear clothes out of interest for costume/fashion/looking cute rather than getting their dick hard
what is confusing is you can be both a sissy and a crossdresser. you could just enjoy passing as a girl wearing girly clothes but behind clothes doors wear embarrassing froofroo shit to get your dick hard.

Never take pictures from a downward angle; it will accentuate your features in the worst ways. Cute girls smile for photographs.

You'll have to master the art of makeup. Lip and eye makeup is going to be really important. You should use an exfoliant and moisturizer on your skin to soften the texture.

The sissy gains sexual gratification from the act of crossdressing itself.

Participating in sex while crossdressing doesn't make one a 'sissy'. The idea of feeling more confident sexually and physically when dressed as a female doesn't inherently make one a 'sissy' either.

A sissy gains gratification from dressing as a girl through means of humiliation. It sort of like a person gaining gratification from being called names and being spit on.

That's me. I really don't see what's so weird about it, one way or another, sissy stuff and crossdressing stuff are related because it's male wearing female clothes, what differs is the intend and the style of wear and so on. That there's people that can like, and do, both, is not that much of a stretch.

Still, there's a place and time for everything though. Sadly, most people are unable to understand this simple concept.

Nah, he definitely took the wrong turn when he choose that shiny fetishwear material. Even high fashion experiments with that kind of material never ever take off as normie clothing, it's always going to be associated with dodgy fetish shit.

Combining that with cross-dressing, which was already dodgy because of sissies in the first place, then choosing a weeby maido costume that smacks of getting off on master-servant roleplay, and that terrible raschel lace on top of everything. Yeah, he's gotta be some super awkward levels of socially dumb to expect anything less than a shitbomb. I'm just going to go with the idea that this guy has to be trolling, probably got the photo off some random sissy's page. I wanna ask a few questions and get some advice, keep in mind I know very little about cosplay or crossplay the only thing I've ever tried on is a borrowed maid costume that wasn't exactly great.

How do I go about finding out my sizing for things from other country's and in general?

How much is Lolita stuff typically?

Do I have to style wigs hair or do I buy something pre-made?

What's the best place to buy stuff?

What would you recommend for someone who wants to do it in private but has snoops in the house?

How difficult is it to remove clothing in a hurry?

Does lolita stuff come with accessory's or ido I buy that separate? (eg:hats gloves chokers. stockings etc.)

>How much is Lolita stuff typically?
It really depends on whether it's brand or not, if it's new or secondhand, whether it's printed or not and how popular the print is, how new the piece is, how rare it is, how much demand there is for it, etc.
There's not a single definite answer to this, basically. Some people can put together great coords for not a lot of money while others can and do drop $1K+ on a single piece. If you're new and starting from scratch you'll have to spend quite a bit on your first coord because you have to buy everything (including shoes, accessories and a petticoat), and you may not be knowledgeable enough to know where and how to find cheap brand. I suggest that you be honest with your SO. I mean you're crossplaying for an event right? Just state your intention to crossplay. Making excuses like "I lost a bet" or "It was a dare" will just start a web of lies. If your intention is honest and you just want to crossplay at an event, be honest. Also you don't need to hide it.

So any nice girls clothes will not be easy to take off, it can take me about an hour+ at an event to get ready, not including the makeup which has stages of downtime for drying. So taking it off takes me about 30-40 minutes. If you are practicing makeup (which you will really need to), that shit isn't coming off very fast either.

If this is a fetish then you're barking up the wrong tree here, you're going to have a hard time.

Actually, this goes for everyone. Shapewears and corsets are good allies for crossdresser, as well as tight and breast paddings. Also, watch some drag makeup tutorials to make your face more feminine and after that you are good with any other makeup tutorial.

What I've done is I've compiled a list of my key measurements (bust, hips, waist, height, etc.) in both centimeters and inches, which means I just need to double check with sizing guides to figure out which size I am. For more info on measuring you can check here http://www.dummies.com/health/how-to-get-your-body-measurements/ it seems to have the basics.

>pre-styled vs styling wigs
even if you get a wig that is designed for the specific style you want, in my experience it's best to tweak it in ways that make it look less messy, like brushing it, and adjusting the bangs to shape your face.

>Hiding it from snoops
Keep your clothes in a locked suitcase if they're extremely nosey. Make sure your door is locked when you're dressing up, or wait until no one is home. Don't leave photographic evidence in easy to reach places.

>How difficult is it to remove clothes in a hurry
For me, the part that takes the most time to remove are my button-up blouses, but everything else either slips off quick, or I can hide it under my casual clothes for as long as necessary; I always keep a casual outfit handy when I'm dressed up.

>it is more of a fetish which complicates things further.

A few things, now that you mention that it is more of a fetish for you:
- Lolita is not cheap, especially if you start from zero
- Sets are oftentimes more expensive since they are highly searched-for limited editions
- therefore go with some cheap worn-out second hand stuff from LM
- it is not that hard to buy everything separately. If you are serious about Lolita, then going throught the pain of buying everything separately, will be the smallest hurdle to pass

ALSO:
- Personally I don't care about people's fetishes as long they keep it for themself and don't force it on others
- If you really feel like this is more of a fetish to you, then this is not the thread to go for you. We are sharing experiences and tips about dressing up to pass in daily life without any (atleast open) sexual background
- Therefore sissies (men that do dress up badly to get a feel of humiliation and arousal through this act) and the likes are not welcome here

- If you want to go further that way, then you might want to seek a different board to seek help unless you want to get shit like >>9253899 and get reported for it since it is not thread relevant as stated above

It's the purpose that does annoy alot of us here. As I already mention to that anon, we are talking about crossdress/crossplay and passing in a daily life fashion, which does NOT include badly made costumes and cheap girl clothes bought simply for the reason to get off to.

If these anons are interested in this topic with a fetish background, then they should go and look for a fitting board for it. This board/topic isn't.

No one wants to hear in specific what you do in your free time to wank and get off. It makes you a creep and therefore someone to be highly avoided in your daily life.

So as I said, if it's a fetish, you're going to have a tough time. It's not really my thing, I just crossplay as well as cosplay, so I can't really advise.

Doesn't work, you can't coat the hairs. You look like you have eyebrow pubes when you try it.

Prit-Stick is trash, you end up with tons of globby glue and a terrible texture.

Eyebrow paste is better than prit-stick because it's MUCH faster, but again, that texture.

Bleaching takes five minutes and you can do as many costumes as you want, just draw them on.

Get your hair colour pencil and nobody will ever know.

It's not even the intent. Guys who are into crossdressing as a fetish always have drastically different priorities, like wanting to be humiliated, be spanked, wanting to talk about sex, whatever. And none of that is actually going to happen at a cosplay or lolita meetup.

What will actually happen is that everybody there gets grossed out by the sex talk, then they'll start spreading gossip and rumours about how creepy you are, under the guise of warning the younger/newer girls. If your comm happens to have a few dramawhores, it'll get blown out of proportion, people start reporting you to the cops, next thing you know your name is forever tied to being a pervert who preys on underage girls, and you suddenly find it a lot harder to get hired because a quick internet search now brings up all of this shit.

Just take yourselves over to the /d/ board and/or join fetlife. You'll actually find people who WANT to spank you, yank your chain, give you orders and do whatever to you, rather than drag your name through the mud for having a fetish. You get your rocks off, they get their rocks off, and the cosplayers/lolitas don't hate you enough to ruin your life.

I don't even understand why anyone is stupid enough to chose to show up for a costume/lolita meetup knowing they'll hate you for your fetish, when there's actual groups out there who WANT to play with you exactly the way you want them to, instead.

You could also get the best of both worlds. Nobody cares about peoples personal sex lives if they keep it to themselves. Seriously, whatever you're into, even if your a devout christian saving yourself for marriage, I DON'T WANT TO KNOW! That's your thing. I don't want to watch and I don't want to heard about it.

So by all means, get into lolita, attend events and meets, but keep the kink out. You'll find the crossplay community to be very nice.

Just remember, while for some it's kink, there's a whole community where it's not.

That's the point. What best of both worlds. What goes down in these meetups is generally a lot of small talk, chit chat, and photos. It's nice if you were really into lolita or cosplay, as you can then meet other people and talk about costume construction or recent brand releases.

If you're in it solely for the kink though, it's going to be a boring, dry experience. You'd probably get better mileage tagging along your mom to her hair salon and watching her exchange banter with her hairdresser.

I just don't see the appeal of coming to a lolita or cosplay meetup if you don't actually care about lolita or cosplay. Different story if you are, but the boy that started the convo didn't seem to be.

If you're into lolita because it's your fetish then you are not actually into lolita at all. Just go buy whatever satisfies your fetish, keep it to yourself, and stay the fuck away from the lolita comms and any meetup.

But if you came here for legit advice because you're interested enough to invest the time to potentially become an actual lolita then this place can be a good resource.

Before buying pieces, I'll assume you know nothing about the actual fashion. Go read the lolita guidebook posted above and do your own research on how to coord and seriously learn to makeup. If you hate that shit then you're probably not actually into lolita, because it's a FASHION.

If you really spend the time like actual lolitas and put together a real coord, assuming you're not really ugly and hyper masculine you will feel and hopefully look pretty as fuck.

>>9256936

Well, the responses itt already tell you how most people feel about you dressing up for kink reasons. If you still want to wear dresses around other people in public, the best I can suggest is to crossplay for a convention. It's an environment that already has a lot of weirdos, so at least you won't stand out as much, and unlike a small meetup, you won't be forced to endure close contact for hours, so there's less chance someone finds out you're a fetishist and works up enough hate to stir up drama. If you can't think of a character to cosplay, make up an anime/game, or do an AU, genderbend or OC. That way you don't need to stick to lolita's strict rules either.

As for friends, you do need some to help you out, though not necessarily fellow crossplayers or a girl posse. You just needs friends for (for eg) if you lose your wallet or something, I'm guessing you don't particularly want to call your parents to pick you up and having them see you crossdressing, so make sure you have all the logistics planned out for yourself, don't rely on strangers doing favours for you.

Don't expect to find people on this board volunteering to help dress you up and "feel pretty" as you transform into a girl. Seriously, that kind of group exists mostly on fetlife and not the cosplay/lolita board, because over half this board is female anyway and don't see the big fucking deal in putting on makeup or wearing a skirt. The most we'd do is give advice or point each other in the right direction, you're expected to learn the rest and dress up by yourself.

Good luck, I have no illwill towards crossdressing, but there's something else to be said about finding the right place for it.

OP of current thread (and most other cd threads here since a coulple of months) here:
My sources aren't very plenty and not explicit based on crossplay since I'm actually more into Lolita and anything I need is based on normal non-specialized material. However if someone could contribute a few legit (please no "How to become a trap" meme posters) links for said specialized guides, I'd appreciate it alot.

Also another thought that came to my mind: Since this thread includes somewhat casual crossdress too (I guess?), should this thread also include j-fashion or jfash-ish things? F.e. brolita or maidstuff that come to my mind and are both seen every once in a while? Or to put it like this: Should this thread exclusively cater to crossplaying and therefore anything that does not include character reenactment/cosplay be reportable since it's not on topic?

I've been thinking about this for a few weeks already since the brolita threads on cgl are rare and mostly not very active due to its super niche status. Also I was noticing that everytime when there's not a brolita thread up, help requests will be submitted here anyway since most of the basics for passing are shared anyway by both circles, c(r)ossplay and j-fashion.

On the other hand, it might be a bad idea since it would just underline the idea that j-fashion XYZ is cosplay to and therefore just support this sentiment, esp. towards new lurkers of /cgl/.

And ofc asking this to keep the formalities right.

I'm a casual crossdresser (not casual on how I see it, but I walk around the city on casual clothings) and I do so with gf, we just wear what we want and don't think men/women clothing actually matter. It'd be good to not only focus on a single aspect, but create a place for all crossdressers.

It's not. The pads aren't that warm and you only need three layers of legwear- a pair of normal fitting panty hose which allows you to easily position the pads and holds them in place while you put on a compression layer- opaque tights that are slightly too small. The add a top layer of normal fitting opaque tights that will be visible, and you're done. In the case of Tracer, the top layer will be the bodysuit.

Attached is a pic of my pads. They're made of 1" foam and carved to be tapered to a thin edge. You put them on smooth side out. The Africa pad, on the left, can be used alone or with the smaller round pad underneath it for curvier hips.

You can also add an oval shaped pad (not pictured) in either 1/2" or 1" foam positioned over the butt for a larger rear end.

In my experience that's crossplay, and crossdressing, in a nutshell.
You have layers for shaping your butt, hips, and legs. Add in a potential stomach cincher for that hourglass shape (if your outfit can hide the cincher). Then you have the bra stuffing; all the methods I've used heat up a lot. And then you have the clothes, which for me is on the stuffier side, since I like the aesthetics of lolita fashion. So yea, it gets hot and sweaty easily

I hear epilators are pretty great when it comes to the cheaper ways of removing body hair. I have a pretty high threshold for pain, so this solves the issue with arms and legs, but what do with the face?

I hear it's super unadvisable to use an epilator there. I don't know why, but I'm not exactly in any rush to tempt fate. I've gotten some pretty sharp razors, but there's always that bothersome fucking stubble, so I'm wondering if there's any way to deal or if I'm going to have to apply extra makeup in an attempt to erase that proper.

Guys in this thread need to bear in mind that your chest measurement being below the max bust of women's clothing doesn't mean it'll fit at all. If it's anything fitted, a woman's ribcage is going to be much smaller than her bust, while yours is going to be basically the same. Somewhat broad shoulders aren't that hard to work around- just pad your hips more to equal them out. Body shape is about balance.

If you're muscular as in having well-defined muscles, choose a character with an outfit that shows off your most feminine attributes and hides your most masculine ones. If you're muscular as is bulging muscles.... I got nothin.

I'm not sure what you mean by "transformation". I didn't change anything about myself to start crossplaying- but it did take a couple of outfits before I got my padded proportions balanced and learned what type of outfits looked best on me. If you mean how long does it take to get into costume- I'm slow with makeup so it's about 30-45 minutes.

is the best explanation I can find without in-depth research.

Quick advice- tuck while laying down, it's easier. I don't shave before taping, but I do trim the hair to about 1/4" long with clippers. Gaffs alone don't work for me, I tape my balls so they stay put and wear a tight thong to keep my dick in place. It makes it easier to pee.

All because of this guy:

When it got posted on social media, it became viral and a meme. Actual crossplayers started dressing up as "shimakaze-kun" and posted their results too. And after that H-artists hopped on the bandwagon too and made tons of art of him.

So yes, shimakaze-kun is a nip meme that became viral and you certainly won't be able to evade it whenever you look for "traps", 2D or 3D.

Still my point stands, you don't need to tuck. If you're really good at crossplay and you want to push it further, then fine, but most likely you'll have a resource of information anyway.

Check contouring guids - highlights make something look closer to the viewer, darker colours make it look further away and thus less pronounced. Subtlety is key here, don't just paint it brown.
Other than that, and this goes for all flaws: Draw attention away from your problem area by making a different part of your face draw in that attention. Depending on what fits the costume, bright lips, colourful eye-shadow, slightly unnatural "animeesque" circle lenses, you get the idea. Again, subtlety warning, you don't want to look like a clown.

Then if she reacts poorly I'd ask her why it bothers her so much, and go from there.

>and also how is this harder than telling her I'm trans?
because you already know she doesn't want you wearing poofy clothes? Or because you're afraid of potentially losing such a supportive person

I'm girl who cosplays lots of young/feminine males (pic related) and am unsure how to do about that, makeup-wise. All the crossplay tutorials I've found involve very hypermasculine traits like large eyebrows and dramatic contours and stubble, and that'd be weird with most of my characters, but I still don't want to be immediately identifiable as female. Finding that happy medium is hard.

I really don't understand the obsession and paranoia people have with "sissies" here. You can perfectly like both things and be able to have enough of a brain to keep them separate because of the simply rule of there's a time and place for everything. Heck, this is not something exclusive to crossplayers, I'm sure there's a ton of people who cosplay normally and do it with sexual intent one way or another, the only difference is that they are not so obvious as first glance as sissies are. And those are the people who deserve scorn, the ones who take the shit that should stay in the bedroom and at home or I don't know, fetish cons, and instead do it on places where it simply should not be just because they get more attention there.

This is something I also believe should be told about the women who go to cons pretty much naked but god forbid you say something to them because you are sexualizing them, they are not a piece of meat, they dressed like that totally not for attention, etc. It's both a disgusting attitude and a disgusting act.

>not in a degrading way, but in a, he wants to feel pretty, does that still make him a "sissy?"
I mean, seriously? How else is he supposed to be feeling while crossdressing? Manly and like Hercules? I mean, c'mon. I'm not sure about others but I like crossdressing because I admire and love femininity and I'd like to feel it myself. The the clothes are actually more fun, varied, stylish, etc than male clothes too just makes it even better.

>Anything designed for crossdressing is ugly and gaudy as fuck, though.
I agree. It's really annoying. Makes getting thing a pain in the ass. Not everyone wants to look like peacock while dressing as girl.

Personally I'm a sub and I get my jollies from femdom, feminization, sissification, etc. But that's at home. If I'm going to a con I leave all that shit on the door and just focus on making a quality crossplay so I can have fun doing what I like going somewhere I like.

You just gave yourself the explanation. If these people had the brain cells to tell when it's appropriate to change into this role, then it would make any discussion obsolete. However, if you read through different threads on this board (cringe, horror stories, com stories etc), you will notice that this doesn't apply to everyone at all.

Most people here are enormously annoyed by sissies since quite a few of them tend to use (mostly) lolita for fetish purposes and force their sexual interest on others in public which often comes with other inappropriate behaviours or even sexual harassment. I guess this does also apply to dd/lg. Most people don't give a fuck what you are doing at home in your bedroom as long you have the common sense to keep it there and don't force your fetishes on others who are not involved or interested in these things.

If you disregard that then you shouldn't be all startled if people talk shit about you. And yeah, sissies being hated here in the crossdressing thread is just too reasonable since they make every crossdresser look bad (as much as they make lolita look bad towards the general public) with their stupid actions.

Did you not read the last thread and the first half of this one?

Also, sissies are despised because the vocal ones really don't know how to keep it to themselves and makes everyone uncomfortable. Like if you crossplay to fulfill some fetish then other people you involve are innocent victims of your gross desire. You might not know this but women are some times victims of harassment.

There's also the fact that sissies tend not to give a shit how they look and really ruin it for people who actually do want to pass, which perpetuates the really ugly stereotype of mandude in a skirt.

Holy fuck. You just reminded me of this girl that spent a good hour trying to talk me about how I was trans and I just didn't know it yet and how I was an "egg" and I hadn't "hatched" yet and I was purposely holding myself back and not being who I truly was.

The funniest part was that she looked and acted exactly like your typical SJW tumblr stereotype. I was between amazed and horrified that those people actually existed IRL. I really don't know what's with them, specially when they force their views on others so hard which is quite ironic considering all the other stuff they preach all the time.

Also, don't forget how it is assumed that because you like pretty clothes and wanna dress like a girl it automatically means you like guys and wanna get rammed by a thousand cocks at the same time.

After looking up the character, in that specific outfit, I have to say that the clothes don't look particularly girlish, it's just the way that the face and hair were drawn that make him look more feminine. So as far as I can tell, that outfit falls into a more unisex category, and therefore isn't crossdressing, but that's just my opinion on it, and since I don't know the source material I have a good chance to be wrong.

That's TL;DR. People don't bother reading through walls of text. I know that from making threads on /vg/. And, in theory, each person only needs to read that kind of text once. After that, it takes up space for no reason. The opening post should have mostly links, and any kind of "body" text (like an FAQ) should stay in a pastebin. That's also how most generals work on /jp/ and /a/ (before the purge). The whole thing could be like 5 lines long instead.
