There are currently no anime cons in Brisbane since Animania died. Supanova is more anime than Comic Con and there are a lot of anime cosplays however gaming and Marvel/DC are more of a focus. The cosplay comps are usually anime focused though.

Why is the old bearded guy who runs Brisbane Supanova's cosplay repair station so rude? Is he like this with everyone?

I asked for a safety pin and hotglue for a simple badge prop, and he said "You know, we're not here to build your costume for you." in a really condescending way.

When I sat down on a chair so he could repair my shoe prop, he went on a rant about how this was his station, and how he's in charge, saying "I make the rules around here", and that I wasn't allowed to sit at the table. I had to stand awkwardly outside the counter. He made me lift my leg onto the table, just so he could fix my shoe prop. It was hard to balance on one leg, and I was really worried my underwear might show.
