"Taobao Carnival" is basically 11.11, it's the biggest "shopping carnival" on Taobao. Right now Tmall is really the only thing rolling out stuff for it and is giving away coupons to be used for shops/items on 11.11. If you use AliExpress, it's basically the same thing as what they're doing there.
Since Tmall is all 'official' shops and brands, they roll out stuff quicker than the Taobao shops do so it'll take a few days to a week for everyone to show up on the 11.11 search function or have their prices listed.

But yeah, anything about coupons just ignore it unless you're buying through Taobao itself.
If you see that orange banner, a cat, or just "11" or even "1111" on a listing, it'll be on sale on Singles Day even if there's no sales price listed yet.

Okay so this is my first time buying shoes on Taobao
what size should I go for?
The sizes are 33 -38, I tried looking at many online converters for chinese sizes and they all say a size 7 (my size) is a Chinese size 39/38 but they also say it's the same as European size 39 ( which can't be right as I have European shoes that are a size 37/38)
My cm /japanese shoe size is 23cm so I am a true size 7 US sometimes even a 6.5 but 7 majority of time.
