I agree it looks extremely unfinished and ill fitting, but their intention was good.

They wanted to show that cosplay is for everyone and that "everyone can shine like a star" or something, so they got different parts of the cosplays made by different cosmakers in very far away parts of the country (Brazil, btw) for people who deviates from the character standards.

The cosplayers are:
Lux - the mother of a Brazilian LoL pro player
Janna - transexual LoL players/streamer/personality/whatever
Jinx - standard white female cosmaker
Poppy - short and chubby
Green character - black female

tbf they don't look much like who they're supposed to be. Had to look up the skins to figure out that the purple one was Janna instead of Diana and the red one was Jinx instead of Kat. The only reason I guessed the green one was Lulu was because she's the only one with a flying pet. Poppy has her iconic hammer so that was a no-brainer.

I know Riot wants to do things bigger and better, but I also miss the recolours. The chroma packs just don't do it for me.

Honestly, if you look at those tails, the fabric used for them isn't very good; it's not thick enough to properly diffuse the LEDs and isn't fluffy. If the lights aren't off the tails will look like shit, and the LEDS won't be bright enough to show colors during the day. Also, with how the tails back light the face, it'll be super hard to get nice photos. But if you really want to make them, it's not that hard; you just need RGB LEDS and make a wire frame for each of the tails.

This is only the second attempt at LED tails I've seen, the first being pic related (from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jP7Xbf4sMow)) and I certainly like THIS attempt more in comparison.

Maybe one day we'll get a mostly flawless Arcade Ahri. Maybe.

That being said, even if your end result isn't perfect, anon, I encourage you to try.

It's actually really simple.

Build your usual base with wire, a belt and wood (there's a really popular tutorial for it somewhere), then cut rgb led strips long enough to wrap around the wires.

You can either make 9 strips and use cable splitters to turn them all on or do a, as we call, gambiarra and connect one to the other with really long cables .

The longer the led strip, the better the effect under light. Remember to wrap it with the leds pointing out so you don't waste it. Pick a good led strip too, don't go for those cheap r-g-b ones and get those with RGB in each led spot. (sorry, english isn't my main language but I hope you can understand it).
You don't need the led strip to cover the entire wire when wrapped, run tests before you decide on the lenght. I didn't need more than 1 meter for each tail since mine were quite short.

Then you'll have to see which controller you'll use based on the lenght of the strips and how you connected them. To light 6 tails I needed 2 of those cheap controllers and one battery for each. I'm sure you can find a better rig but I didn't have much time so it ended up like this. (but I didn't even wear it anyway so it was all just waste)

If you're using more than one controller just tape the sensors together so you can turn them on at the same time and keep them in synch with only one remote control.

Then just slip on the fur and done!


If you're insterested in the pattern for the fur, I made a long drop-like shape, but not too big at the ends or it weights down too much.


Now, if you have a lot of money to spare and want to make the color change effect exactly like ingame, look for digital led strips. They are programmable and can do color chase.

Also if you ever build this could you please tag me? I'd love to see more Arcade Ahris around with color changing tails.

IMO most lol skins (even the basic ones) are not exactly beginner friendly. However there are some that do require a little less work compared to others like some skins of Draven, Ezreal, Gangplank, Graves, Lee Sin, Talon and maybee Lucian and TF too.
