My first larp armour some time back. Got a new cape by now, working on getting pauldrons, tassels and greaves, then dying everything to be the exact same shade of brown (the darkest of the pieces I have) and engrave it for some details. Probably get some black pants once I have my leg protection.

And no, I don't have fancy foto skills. Was a fast photo with my phone to show my outfit. Often, I only wear the cape for staying warm.

yes a rogue indeed. This character is some type of assassin/mercenary. That's why the hidden face, and a brown cape. As brown is the most common color for peasants, the most common folk, hiding in a all brown cloak hides between the crowed more easily (which was the background idea for it. Real life point is I love capes and their nicely warm when it gets colder. Got myself a wollen one now).

The implication that it's usually not a good idea to look like a thief or assassin when you're a thief or assassin.

I see. Well I already toned it down at have been thinking about it. Ofcourse, I want to have fancy armour (and luckily LARP isn't re-anecment and can have some not-fiting parts).

I took many browns as browns are everywhere in medieval times. Clothes, trees, wooden houses, brownish stones. It easily fades in a city. I also wanted a cape to be able to trow it arround me to hide the armour and everything, so I can blend more nicely into the crowd. Got a better cape now than I had on that photo.

Mask is cool but I often don't wear it, I like being able to drink some water in between and the mask makes that a lot harder.

actually, it was very colorful, there were even laws of what kind of colors are allowed to people with different social status.
That said, fantasy medieval cities indeed full with brown, and it's not a bad hiding color in the wilderness.

>> No.9201110

>>9201071
True. Clothing in brown may mainly for monks and poor peasants/farmers, as brown was one of the cheapest colours to make, with the lightest browns being natural fabric colours. But anyone who could afford dyed clothing/fabrics would indeed do so.

I figured brown would indeed be the most versatile and the most logic in the most places :).

greenish-brown or "duck-shit green" as we call it is the best for hiding in the night according to our experience, like the cape in pic

well, this color is the best during night, where it's very hard or even impossible to distinghuis it from the ground, even if the vegetation is greener during night your color perception changes.

Cities = colorful (especially clothes with laws, banners, fabric stuff).

Good for hiding = duck-shit green (love that name btw)

>> No.9201528

>>9201519
meanwhile I realized I brain farted, it isn't duck-shit green, but goose-shit green. Anyway it's basically the surplus military wool blankets, they have a very good hiding color, 100% wool so warm and also good for padding for gambesons and such, plus very cheap IF you can find them

Don't worry, I don't think many people know the difference between duck poo colour and goose poo colour xD.
