Yumi does seem to be improving. I've got 15+ years of sewing under my belt and man did I cringe at her early stuff. Just so much wrong.

But now it's acceptable sewing. Not quality per se but more like what I see early seamstresses do in their first couple of years. I like how it encourages people who don't know very much to give sewing a go and even though you might not do the proper process you can still end up with something decent.

Nope. Simplicity patterns already have the seam allowance included on the paper piece, so the extra is unnecessary. While she did serge the seams, she took of less than she added, plus a serger has a narrower stitch than the standard 5/8" commercial patterns.
