Planning to go as Kira but have alot of prep time, what's the best place online with overseas shipping to buy custom clothing for cheap? I know the tie alone is pretty pricey.
There's sellers on eBay that sell the entire ensemble for $150 but they look like shit quality.

Its going to be very hard to sew from scratch if this is your first sewing project, but not impossible so long as you follow a pattern. You could always modify one that you get off ebay for the right fit, although if it's a shitty material theres really not a lot you can do, even if you fit it to yourself perfectly

How come there aren't more Bad Companies? I was thinking of easy stand cosplays that would be hard to half-ass and it seems like the easiest cosplay to do since you mainly just have to get some surplus ALICE gear, an M1 helmet, and make the mask.
The only real hindrance is that Bad Company isn't a single stand so you wold probably have to get a group of at least one or two others.

I'm making a Kira cosplay as well and would appreciate some feedback. I've got it down to three suits but can't settle on one.

- Lavender is probably the closest to his signature anime/manga look, but it would be shipping from Asia so it might not fit well (I am pretty skinny though) and could even arrive after Halloween unless I pay extra for shipping.
- Purple is more striking but is definitely lower quality (cheap polyester).
- White is less exciting but I can probably get the most use out of it for other cosplays or just formal events. Plus it's the least expensive.

Are there measurements for the lavender suit? You shouldn't be buying online based on guesswork. If there are measurements and they'll fit you go with lavender, otherwise imo go for the white one.

I'm planning to work on Rohan's outfit from the Cheap Trick arc, though I'd like to hear what you guys think of the shirt. I have the wig, earrings, boots, and headband from a previous cosplay.

From what I've seen most people just cut holes and leave the raw edges though to me it looks kind of unfinished. What I thought of doing is to use the buttonhole attachment on my sewing machine to seal off the edges.

Your buttonhold attachment isn't going to give you the tear drop shapes you want for the holes. That and if you want to use a thin weater material like you mention here >>9203854 that type of stitch is probably going to warp the fabric and make it look awkward. You might have better luck cutting the holes and using a little fray check on it.

That's true. I just checked my sewing machine's panel and there's a curved stitch programmed in, so I might test that on some scraps. Otherwise I'll try the fray check method.

I'm 6ft and super skinny - like without really having to breathe in much at all you can see my ribs and hip bones quite clearly. I've also get natural, very vivid ginger hair. Any ideas for characters I could pull off? The build is more important than my hair seeing as I suppose I could get a wig. No major characters immediately spring to mind, but perhaps one of the minor villains?

Also, any decent cons in the UK where I'd find other JoJo fans, or would I have to make an occasion of going over to one of the American cons or something for it?

So I've decided to start working on a DIO cosplay and I'm just figuring out the overall design I want to go with using really 80s fashion as inspiration. It's coming to a tough decision of whether or not I should keep the crotch window - I feel like it's a really key part of DIO's costume but it just doesn't translate well in real life, especially on a woman. I was going to go really over the top with the other parts like super heavy shoulder pads but it just doesn't work well with the crotch window.

Black Sabbath might suit you. I'd post a picture but the thread reached its image limit, you'll find plenty of pictures if you google it. You'd be mostly covered in a cloak and wearing a mask so your body type won't really matter, plus it's got a really cool design, though probably a bit more complex than any of the human characters.
