I love it, too. I think since it's Moitie and has the cross motifs it's safe to classify this as EGL. I defer to Mana-sama's judgements.

And yeah, I'm in a suburban/working-class college town where it's hoodies and jeans or yoga pants and spray tan as far as the eye can see. I have working-class values pretty ingrained into my daily dress code despite the whole goth thing, haha. Even transitioning to lolita daily makes me nervous.

A lot of old school has a more casual feel to it. Probably because of real hair being the norm, and less accessories being worn.

Random question - what style of flat shoes does anyone recommend for gothic? I love wearing heels but it's not practical for day-to-day so I usually end up just wearing flat mary janes, though sometimes those seem too sweet.

This is often the case, particularly when a skirt looks deflated and sad without a petticoat and I would agree there is definitely a distinctive 'silhouette' associated with it. However in my opinion there is more to it than just the silhouette and sometimes the 'lolita silhouette' as we know it doesn't have to feature if the other lolita associated components are intact.
