So I recently did Academy Ahri. Guess the paint on the rubber part of my shoes didn't seal properly. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm also more of a prop maker vs costume maker so all of Ahri has been purchased (I only painted the shoes).

However, to compensate and add some more "handmade" to my post, my boyfriend and I are currently 3D printing parts for a D.VA cosplay for a friend of ours.

her whiskers in that skin aren't as dark as usual, try using brown eyeliner instead to do them. Also the way you drew them on looks non symmetrical.
Personal opinion, but I don't think your makeup suits Ahri very well.

Yeah, sadly those thigh highs were last minute because the ones I had which were more opaque ripped on me.
I'll try a different wig in the future then. I was near the ocean so there was a constant wind all weekend that was a nightmare for long wigs.
As for the tail vs tails, it was a rather small convention so I didn't want to be obnoxious and take up room with all nine of them. I most certainly will at a larger one for sure though.

I've lurked in self post threads a lot and she's never really said anything back to people concriting her; how are you jumping to that conclusion? I think her makeup looks fine for cosplay, since anime characters look like they have makeup on all the time anyways. Well first off you pull off the wig/hair infinitely better than what I've seen of the face characters (for some reason Elsa and Anna look the least put together out of the face characters, I don't get it)
The biggest thing I think would make this really neat would be making the skirt out of something...not shiny. I always imagined it was more of a wool from what we saw in the movie. Might be a personal preference though. Also fitting the bodice is going to make things look nicer too

I'm guessing you were going for a strong pose but it falls pretty flat. Just putting more weight on your front foot and leaning forward slightly would give this a better look. Arms are bothering me the most but I'm not sure what you were going for? I'm no pose expert (my first photoshoot was pretty much me being ??? the entire time) but looking at photos really does help.

This was my first "real" cosplay, and my friends and I also know absolutely nothing about proper photography. Despite, I'm pretty proud of the glove and how well the outfit seemed to work out.

-- the jacket and the pants, especially, could do with weathering. Google "how to weather cosplay" or "how to weather clothing" to get ideas on how to make your outfits look beaten-up and worn-in. Adds an air of authenticity. I know that taking sandpaper and scissors and other destructive elements sounds scary, but look for references on how other people have done it to make it look more realistic.

All of the parts to the costume are the same size so we could swap if we felt like it and that day we decided to. Part of the joke was the obvious gender reversal gag but it was also because I always played the alts where Nana was the lead in Smash Bros so there was a bit more to the joke as well.
