Does anyone know what magazine this is? I got it at a second hand book store and it has clothing patterns and photos in, but i can't read it and can't sew either lol. Just got it because it was quite cute. I'm not an expert in mori either but some of it seemed quite mori-ish to me.

This is a natural system/kei pattern book.

Natural is very similar to mori, but the style has been around since the 80s and is usually popular with older women and housewives.

The general rule of natural kei is all natural materials, and loose/comfortable clothing. Layers are popular but does not define the style like it does for mori.
There is also a huge "lifestyle" following (organic cosmetics, home cooked meals and of course handmade clothing).

another crossboarder here. This shop is pure gold. I'm angry that I got always so easily alienated by this board, so that I discovered Mori only recently. Definitely a lovely contrast to the boring normcore, chrome fits over at /fa/.

I'm pretty into mori and some of my hobbies are pretty predictable (hiking, baking, reading) I don't consider myself that into the ~lifestyle~ aspect of mori or the other jfash I'm into.

I'm surprised how little of this type of clothing I actually find when I try looking for it. Combing over thrift shops and antique malls alike, but I can't ever seem to find something useful. Is Taobao or other internet sources the only place to find this style of clothing?

Really anon? I guess it's hard to find items that just look mori, but if you look at coords, like >>9073719, you'll notice that none of the items look particularly special. In that coord in particular you have a red cable-knit sweater (it looks cotton from the picture, easily found in places like Old Navy) a tableclothy gingham skirt (I've seen one just like that in my Goodwill in New York), a lace petti that could just as well be a slip or another white skirt, a basic scarf, and a suede coat, also easily thriftable. The boots kind of look like furry uggs to me.

In general, mori pieces don't have to all come from certain types of brands, they're mostly normal-ish items that tend to look like they blong to a grandma in a certain range of natural colors. Search in stores for those natural colors first, and then imagine them in a mori coord. Of all the j-fash styles, I pretty much feel like mori's the easiest to find and get into.

Not AYRT but I have the same issue of finding mori clothes to be impossible to pick up locally. It might be where I live. Second hand places are rare around here, the main one being a Goodwill, and they carry all the same kinda crappy stuff. My favorite resale place closed down last year, it was the only one I ever found clothes at and I'm so sad. But even that one never had anything mori-appropriate.

So to get a conversation going, how do gulls like to do their hair and makeup for mori? How important do you all think it is for the overall look? I take care of my skin. On days I do look tired, I use concealer, but I do wear a sunscreen BB cream every day. Most days, for work (I manage a tiny one-room shop for the local craft distillery), I wear eyeliner and a light pink blush. I NEVER cover my freckles - I've got lots - and I wear sunscreen ALL THE TIME.

As for my hair, right now I'm in the Music Man for community theatre. I have to keep it long. I wear it up in twin-buns a lot, or that messy bun on top of the head. Soon I'll have it shorn short.
