Hey guys! Anon here from the last thread with an update to my bed.

I got a vintage bedframe and a floral quilt today. I think it looks much nicer. I was going to get proper sheets and a bedskirt too, but my local target didn't have any I liked so I'll have to go online.

I know this is a REALLY stupid question, but does anyone have any space saving tips? I am moving into a flat and I'm wondering what I can store in drawers because I've always had biws and tons of storage.

I think I'm going to have to keep my lolita dresses at my mother's (not far away), but apart from pants, socks, some shirts, underwear and manchester, is there anything else I can put in draws? I'm getting a bed with storage underneath but I have never been so grateful to have a kindle because there's no way in hell I could fit a bookcase in the bedroom.

If you have a dress form, maybe consider making a dress form cover, like pic related, but with your choice of fabric with gothic motifs. If you can get ahold of one of those skeleton dresses and modify that into a dress form cover I think that's pretty cute.

For storage, I'd stay away from funny shapes that don't stack well as they'll take up more space, but you can always wrap them in nicer paper or fabric, decoupage them or paint them to fit your aesthetic.

I have the same problem, I have too much fucking stuff. Some things I've bought recently to deal with having limited space include:
-Small shoe rack to go in closet
-Over the door coat hanger (this is also good for purses and kigus since it's so high up)
-Closet shelving that hangs from the rack, I use mine to store accessories like gloves, hats, scarves, bags, and belts.
I know a lot of people also display their favorites dresses on their walls and I think that's super cute.

1.You have to choose a few depending on size of course. It can be anywhere from 3-7 posters.
2.Frame them. Walmart has some nice simple poster frames for cheap
3.Group them like art on one wall. Spreading them out tends to look cluttered. One section of them looks planned and artistic.

I know this doesn't help with what you have, but for future buying, I generally get postcard sized prints from AAs and I put them in cool vintage looking frames that get from Pier 1 or something and hang them on my wall that way. You definitely need some color, so I suggest getting cheapo wooden frames and spray painting them a spring green and some a light pretty pink. Whatever cute colors you want.

For your bookshelf, contact paper on the back part of the shelf for more color to pop. Match the frames! Same can be done to the back of your desk and you can just repin up those pictures. That way your furniture still matches!

As much as I like Star Wars, I agree with the bedding. You can get some cheap girly bedding at Target, just look up shabby chic bedding. For you seat, get a patterned chair cushion!

And for your figures, you could get a wall shelf or two and mount them on your wall, and display your figures on that. That way you're not crowding your furniture. I knock mine down trying to reach stuff too much that I found it is best to give them their own display area. Once you organize your posters you can easily fit a shelf on a wall.

If you ever plan on moving again save yourself and avoid ikea. I just moved in to my own place and almost every ikea piece I own (which is the majority of my stuff) practically fell apart while we were just wrapping shit up in blankets. Everything is so wobbly and chips easily. Check thrift stores and learn to stain wood/paint instead!

Agreed. It's not worth it. It's good if you're gonna be in awhile place for awhile, but if you are an apartment hopper, just buy decent furniture or only a few, small ikea things. All of my furniture is ikea, and I managed to move it but it's so wobbly and chipped. It's not meant to be taken apart and put back together, either, so if your movers will have issues getting in/out of your new place to your old place, it's not even worth it.

I have some storage under my bed already, which is great ! Mostly, I'd like to have a larger floor space. I have an easel in my room so that takes up a good amount of space, and adding that with my dresser, desk, nightstand.. I love that you have an aquarium! I wonder if in your budget you could find a way to incorporate some kawaii-ness into your tank? (I can't tell from the photo if your plants are real or not...) but if you wanted to include some pink/purple plastic plants, perhaps some colorful stones or decorations, or incorporate window clings or even draw cute things on the glass with car window pens (I've drawn funny little word bubbles on my fishtank, and so did a bubble tea café in my town). If you felt inclined, you could craft a simple gathered curtain in a cute pattern to drape from the top of your 9X9 cubby to add more color - like image attached.

Most of your furniture looks to be white/cream already so I would paint your bed side cabinet in a shade that matches the other furniture, also the fishtank stand if you can.

Also if you can find nicer coloured boxes for those box shelves or even cover the fronts on them that would make them pop a lot more. I've seen people use floral fabrics on those boxes, they give a fresh and cute feeling.

I've been living the bin life for years, but I will finally have a room dedicated to it and don't know the proper way to go about organizing all my stuff to actually help with my flow and keep me organized because it's easy.

Don't rush your craft room! I'd start with getting the right workspace - do you like to spread out? Work in a small area with good lighting? You want to have your craft stuff on a table, not on the floor so whether that means you need something like a fold-out sewing/cutting table, L-shaped arrangement or can make do with a single trestle table along one wall will depend on your working style.
The second thing is storage - don't be scared to go for shelves or cabinets that are floor to ceiling, and use smaller shelving or storage inside for little things. Things like peg boards and wall storage if you'have the option (for things like thread, small notions, beads etc that get used a lot)
If you're an out of sight out of mind hoarder then maybe having everything available, accessible and on display is important - so look for shelves rather than cabinets.

Overall the principle is: sort yourself out a good work space, make sure you can easily get to the things you use a lot, and make sure you have more than enough space for all of your shit.

Roman blinds have a bit more visual interest, but rollers are usually a bit cheaper. I also have those windows where there was a gap and ended up removing the pole ends but the roman blinds are far superior for light blocking.

Maybe try a voile if you are looking for the draped/hanging look?

Gulls, need some advice or inspiration. Is it possible to create a gothic interior around white furniture? I've had my furniture set since I was about four years old (over twenty years now). It's still in good shape and has a pretty elegant appearance.
