I think in high school I fluxed between 180-200. I'm only 5'3. The weight is all in my fupa, upper thighs, and upper arms. Most of my extremities are thin.
I chalk it up to miscounting calories due to drinks. I would drink gatorade, milk, juice, etc. but it didn't occur to me during the time that drinks can make people gain weight.
My highest ever was 250 two years ago, I was playing college rugby so weight was a good thing for my scrum position.

I managed to get back down to 170 over the summer because I lived across the street from my college track. I'd do 3 miles before class and 3 more before night. I was losing a half pound every other three days. Really good.

Then I got a boyfriend, graduated, moved away, got depressed, a sedentary job, I don't exercise, less access to a nice gym, and I'm slipping away from caring. Back up to 230 pounds within 8 months. Bam. Oh well, maybe I'll pull a PT and get my shit together in my 30s. Who knows.

All I know is mean people were mean to me no matter how much progress or good I did, even when I lost that 70 pounds. I've seen girls my height as low as 120 pounds get called whales.

There are some very strong athletes who don't have super low body fat. It's not exclusively a US football thing. There are fatties who run marathons, too. The point of a costume is to dress up and mimic something you see, if you're not mimicking something right, then its not a costume, or at least not a good one. Its fine if you accepted you'll never be good at it, but don't take photos , share them on the internet, and not expect people to judge you on the purpose of what a costume is. Not a whole lot you can do about your cheeks looking wide with posing (you can try contouring), but for the rest: 3/4s angles are most flattering (face feet away from the camera, then square your chest), keep your feet close together, chin down slightly, forehead forward (this is part to describe, but basically stick your neck out to length it but concentrate on pushing your forehead towards the camera). The rest kind of depends on the type of character you are . You will feel silly, but you'll look good. Practice with a mirror, practice with a friend, do it until you can strike a pose without looking in a mirror.

There's a big difference between "not having an insanely low body fat" and being a complete fatty and the fact that you don't realize this makes me think you don't really watch or participate in the sports mentioned. Have you actually seen the people that build muscle but aren't strict with their diet? They're still big and obviously muscular, maybe a bit barrel chested or pot bellied in the case of some power lifters, but they will never be obese.
