This reminds me of something that happened to me. Only actual ebay "shops" or "stores" can set this notification, you can't do it if you're just an average seller. So I had to write in my listing descriptions that I was away until whatever date it was.

This bitch who bought an old weeby panda backpack of mine didn't read the description, and threw a humongous fit that I was not in town and couldn't send out the package for another week or whatever. God, they were awful and stupid.

If I had an ebay buck for how many people don't read my item descriptions / ask me questions that they could've known if they had just read the description. I don't even make my descriptions fancy - they're easily readable and always a big font size & in bold for retards.

Yup I got USPS Priority on it and would have gotten signature confirmation but ebay charges over $2 for it so instead i took pictures on the package after I taped it up and put the shipping label on it as extra security to prove I had shipped it correctly.

A bit unrelated, but I want to sell some old cosplay items I used to wear years ago on eBay to help fund some books I need, do any Anons have experience with those types of sales? I know that the first things to do are to measure it and determine if it's machine wash-&-dry safe, but I can never find any listings for used items online, so I don't know how to ballpark the price or the etiquette of taking pictures.

Use FB sales as a guideline. Remember that eBay takes some of the money, and that you'll have to compete with Chinese prices. If it's well photographed and the items are in good condition you should be able to sell them.

Honestly, as someone who both sells on FB and eBay, try to sell your cosplay on FB first because you can get more money and avoid paying fees. Just join a bunch of cosplay BST groups and post around. If you have decent photos, you should get a hit or two within hours.

Here's some tips:
>take photos from at least three angles (front, side, back)
>do close ups of any damage or anything that makes the outfit worth more (embroidery, fabric design, etc)
>include shipping in your price, it'll attract more buyers than "$$ + $ shipping"
>use tracked shipping!!!!!!!
>if you do make a sale, take photos of your package once shipping has been paid for and send a copy to the buyer! This'll prevent a lot of future hassle if something goes wrong.

As for price, it would depend on the quality of the item. Excellent condition? Ask -$10 what you paid for it with domestic shipping included and offer 'or best offer' on it. You're more likely to get this price on FB than you would on eBay where you have to compete with Chinese sellers.

Look at what else they sell as well as looking at the ratings. If they sell a lot of cosplay or costume stuff, chances are it'll be at least okay. If they mostly sell bike parts and shoes, good luck getting something that's not made of tissue-thin satin.
However, bear in mind that a lot of these reviews are by tweens who weren't allowed to buy from Milanoo, so they're not always the best indicator of quality.

If you close a case against a seller, can you reopen it later? I know you can't over paypal, but I'm not sure if you can over ebay.

What happened was I haven't received an item in the time period that they estimated. I messaged them and they asked me to close the case if I receive it, otherwise they'll resend me the item (because that's what I requested in the original case). I've never had this happen before, how long am I supposed to wait before asking them to resend it?

So I ordered bottom false lashes on eBay last month. They were supposed to arrive last week. But of course they didn't. When I try to contact the seller through "Resolution Center" this shit happens:

At first it says.
"This item was purchased on US.
We're sorry, there's an issue with your purchase. Since you bought this item on US site, please go to US site try to resolve your problem."

And when I click the US site sign it says this:

"Your item may still be on its way.
The estimated delivery date for this item is Mar 02, 2016.If you haven't received your item by then, contact the seller through the Resolution Center."

And when I click "the Resolution Center" it goes to "Resolve a problem" site which seems like a right thing. But after I pick what item is the problem is goes right back to the "This item was purchased on US blahblah" text. And then it's just the same problem circle.

I've never reported an item missing before. It's not an end of the world anyway but figured I wanted to notify the seller...

I kept seeing this on Aliexpress and Amazon, but I figured I'd just get it off eBay since thats what I was browsing when I remembered the dress. It came fairly quickly, it's 100% polyester, so it is a little bit see-through. I just wore a matching solid color skirt under it which looks cute when I twirl and then just a flesh colored bra. The should straps are kind of iffy towards your collar bone, but I plan to sew that to fix that issue. Overall I really like it for the price.

I've bought wigs from stores that had stolen photos and it was mostly OK, only a really long wig was a bit shit but that was expected. If they have good feedback and the prices are decent I don't see why you shouldn't give them a go. And no, they're (probably) not bot accounts, it's how ebay lists names.

The sizes only have 2 cm difference and they say that there's a 1-2 cm difference due to manual measuring, so probably not. Get the largest size just in case, they have elastic so it's not like you'll be left with a super baggy skirt. As for the quality, they don't look super great, but you can't expect much for that price. If you like it go for it, but it might be a good idea to wear it with safety shorts because it looks pretty see-through.

I have the peach one, it is a little see through and short so i usually have to wear something underneath. It comes with two button slots on the suspenders so you can make it a little higher, but I find I wear it mostly without the suspenders. It's a good buy though. Fabric is poly, so it doesn't wrinkle or shrink easily. Flowy.

I'm definitely NOT closing the case because once I do, that's it. I can't reopen it when the replacement set of shoes don't get delivered and ask for a refund then. By now I don't even really want the shoes but I always do feel like an ass turning out a solution in favor of going "No, gimme my money" because I know I ordered right before CNY and I just got a buttload of packages yesterday from the CNY madness (about eight of them all together) so what they're saying might actually be true.

I think I'm going to wait on answering until the mail arrives today and if there still isn't any of my shoes, I'll ask them if they could send the replacement with tracking because of their bad feedback. If they refuse I'll just straight up ask for a refund or wait until March 4th when eBay can step in.

Anon, were it me then I would wait until end of next week before having them refund. Per ebay's buyer protection policy, you have 30 days from delivery date to dispute so you are still covered.

I work in logistics and more times than not, delays occur that are completely out of the seller's control. CNY in itself ate up an entire week of your package just sitting in some facility, untouched, for example. The shipment could've been unlucky and pulled for inspection by customs, which can take anywhere from 3 to 7 business days. The trucker who was supposed to pull the shipment from port maybe didn't get in on time and now there are storage charges that need to be paid, which can take another 1-2 biz days to clear. And then maybe fedex didn't deliver the check on time to port, which caused further delays. Then once it's cleared domestically, it takes about another week going through local post to deliver to your house. If you live in the US then note that USPS is notoriously awful in delivering mail on time.

At work we just had a shipment that was sent out on 1/24 deliver to our warehouse yesterday (2/29), and we're still waiting for them to finish storing it before we can get our hands on the stock to ship out to customers.

tl;dr there are a lot of steps to international shipping and problems can occur at one, two, or all steps which will cause delays. If you don't see your package in another week then get a refund.

As a rule of thumb, sizes will run a bit small and if you have wide feet you're kinda screwed. Don't expect the quality to be great either, stuff like this tends to be very saturated with dye and it transfers really easily.
