Hi, I'm an Aussie from /k/. Had a pretty shit day, sister was in France but thankfully she was ok. Trying to get out of a depressed state by focusing on other things and trying to start conversation.

What is EGL? Is it and lolita popular in Australia?

EGL stands for Elegant Gothic Lolita and is a term coined by Mana, one of the members of now disbanded visual kei band Malice Mizer.

Lolita is extremely popular in Australia and there are quite sizeable communities in almost every capital city of Australia.

Hey Anon! Speaking from my own experience Lolita is pretty popular here.

I know its well-known in Melbourne and there are usually meets in the CBD. Not sure about any other states, however, I've seen lots of Lolita Facebook communities in other states so that may be saying something.
