A lot of people see a small print like that in the store and find it pretty when its 2 feet away from their face, but don't realize it will no longer read well from 5 or more feet. This happens most often with people who exclusively shop at Joanns because of their heavy emphasis on quilting prints. I'm sure that print would probably make a really nice dress for a doll, but its just way out of scale on a human.

Not really. It suffers from so many beginner mistakes:
- The fabric is too gaudy. The contrast of pink and black in an all-over print makes it very cluttered to look at. Just because a fabric has literal sweets printed on it does not mean it's a good fabric to use for lolita.
- Hot Barbie pink =/= pastel pink. We're talking about the lacing, although the trim on the underdress is equally too bright.
- Conflating several alt fashions together. Metal grommets and obvious faux corsetting with a sweet print? What works for steampunk or gothic does not necessarily work with sweet or even gothic lolita.
- Lack of a decent petticoat.
- wtf is the white lace even

Not that anon, but as someone who sold bows
1) not uniform
A) the brown ones literally all have different tightness for your center, the middle one is what you should strive for
B) the ribbons of the rest are twisted and turned, ex. the top candy corn one
2) charms are mostly off center
- this is because of the button backing

Those are just the first things I noticed. They'd be great for your first set of bows you'd ever made, but I wouldn't pay anymore than 4$ for them. And the fact that you can't see what's wrong with them, or your comfortable selling bleh at high prices makes me wonder if you're ready to sell in the first place.

>> No.8656078

These are the first bows i've made. In an earlier post i commented that i suggested 2/$10 to a friend but felt that was too much, they suggested $13 because spoopy. i already reduced the price to $6/2.

I'll do my best to work on these things, i definitely see what you mean about the tension for the center binding ribbon... though i don't have a solution for the charms looking off center, the shanks are long and move around a lot. I guess get better charms, though i haven't run into any options yet.

actually storenvy is aimed at indie designers and small businesses. It's just that all the taobao resellers took over (even though technically they aren't even supposed to be permitted). It's like etsy, only you are permitted to get your stuff manufactured.

Who is wasting all this time, fabric, clay, and lace making all this utter shit.

Why do they think it's sellable at all? It's one thing to make crap for yourself as you hone some skills. It's beyond me how you can look at your shitty finished project and deem it worthy to sell.

Delusional people selling seashell-shaped purple turds for two hundred a pop don't stop to think about things like 'quality control' and 'does this look remotely wearable'. They're the people who use other, better words, like 'OOAK vintage 100% magical upcycled fairy ring dreamsicle dress'. You don't go into that shit-breeding asspat haven for quality crafts, you go in for the neverending cash from other idiots who willingly pay out the ass for old cat toys hot-glued to a pillowcase. Etsy has recently allowed their users to sell mass-produced goods, as long as they say they're mass-produced and the owner of the store is the designer. How can you expect any sort of integrity from that kind of place?
